##DO NOT USE WARRINGTON HAWLEYS LANE## update as per phone call 10.2.2023. When my van was at garage keys given to Jack store manager. CCTV failed everything robbed out of my van. No damage to bodywork locks,windows and my insurance approved lockbox opened and everything stolen without any damage. Jack then told me my window had been smashed and halfords had replaced it. I pointed out and got clarification off vauxhall that this was still the original window with main dealer etchings. So that was a lie. And I was still puzzled as to how my insurance lock box had been emptied. Jack assured me that i didnt need to worry as halfords would replace my possession. Alan regional manager was ment to be investigating it and getting back to me. All I got off Alan was the phone put down. I have asked for receipts for the window that's meant to have been replaced and how my lockbox has been emptied. No answer and phone call terminated. When on the phone yesterday the man on the call said he wasn't prepared to speak to me then ended the call. Each time you put a review up. Halfords say they are reaching out to you. No one has this is just to try and make it look like they care. And because I haven't kept all my receipts halfords are trying to fob me off. Warrington police are still investigating this matter. I've reported this to ombudsman, watchdog, Rouge traders and once all investigations are completed I'm going to the press. You should be able to leave your possession in your vehicle and them be safe. Or if you are a victim like me you would like to think halfords would do the right thing and replace your possession. Not the case. And all because I gave Jack my van keys. The other set are kept in my head office in a safe. The store wasn't broken into. Just my van and I use that term very losely. Be careful this could be you.

Having failed my m.o.t I got a quote for repairs - the cost for parts was £202-55. They are now owned by HALFORDS, and my mot says Halfords Autocentres. I checked Halfords on line price and it was £69-97. I also checked Europarts (whom I am led to believe they get their parts from) Europarts price was £109-98. I pointed this out to them, but wasn,t offered amended price. I didn,t feel the part they failed was bad, so went to another garage for mot and it was passed. I won't be going anywhere near National Tyres or Halfords any more, and will be making my friends etc. aware of my experience. I informed Halfords Autocentres on-line, but am afraid they didn,t/couldn,t explain why this was,in fact, they evaded the question entirely, this was the answer I got :- Please provide a screenshot or copy of the competitor quotation, please also stick to the price match guidelines or we cannot assist you further.

##DO NOT USE WARRINGTON HAWLEYS LANE##. Quick update from email yesterday off halfords 31,1,2022. Halfords will still not accept liability and replace my possession from my van as I haven't kept every single receipt. My van was broken into while in there garage. I use the term lovely as CCTV had failed no damage to locks,bodywork or windows. And my insurance approved lock box had everything stolen out of it with no damage. Halfords are trying there hardest to worm there way out of replacing my possession. You should be able to leave you vehicle in there care and not havd to worry about your possession been stolen. Pay up Halfords. Fortunately the police are still investigating this mater and C.A.B are helping me. Be very careful thus could happen to you. Your vehicle isn't safe.

DO NOT JOIN HALFORDS MOTORING CLUB!!! IT IS UNCANCELLABLE! It auto renews and charges monthly / annually and only allow you a small window of a matter of weeks to cancel your subscription for the whole year! When I challenged the call centre agent the first thing they said was "it was stated in the TnCs which you had to tick to say you've agreed to" various court rulings on this type of sneaky term enforcement, look up some case law: inconsistent terms and conditions - wherever TnCs are non standard (I.e giving ridiculous windows to cancel annual subscriptions) courts will rule any non standard conditions DO NOT APPLY!!! INFURIATES me when companies try to manipulate customers like this. They are fully aware a huge majority will want to cancel so make it unnecessarily difficult in the hope you'll forget and they'll bill you forever. Wasted 45 minutes of my life trying to cancel and it's still active. Go elsewhere people, I had an eye opening experience on my most recent visit to auto centre - charging dealer prices but giving gypsy garage service. Absolute swindlers!

I HAVE AN INSURANCE APPROVED LOCK BOX THAT HAT BEEN OPENED AND ALL POWER TOOLS AND TOOLS STOLEN. I HAVE JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE TO HALFORDS CALL CENTRE AND APART FORM THE GENTLEMAN I HAVE JUST SPOKEN TO EVERY ONE HAS TRIED TO BRUSH IT UNDER THE CARPET. POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING THIS MATTER. I WILL BE REOPRTING THIS TO THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN,WATCHDOG,ROUGE TRADERS AND THE PRESS. DO NOT USE. YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND IF ANYTHING GETS ROBBED HALFORDS WILL TRY TO BRUSH IT UNDER THE CARPET. ROUGES. ####

My works van had broken down and I was towed in by the AA. I took out what tools I required. I was informed that my van would be kept in a secure compound. Allegedly the CCTV had failed and my van was systematically emptied front to back top to bottom of everything. No locks damaged no damage to bodywork. I questioned this and was informed that my window had been broken. I pointed out that all my windows are still the originals and have markings from main dealers on them. This is not the poor level of service that you require from such a large outfit. Do not use.

Awful service. Charged my student daughter, hundreds of pounds more for parts that literally cost £120-150. They charged her much more than that, even with the hourly rate on top, which for something that would have took them literally 1 hour. It’s a VW not a lambo! They certainly preyed on the nativity of a young woman…… She will never take it there again……..

I had to threaten to sue Halfords to get my refund. It was a nightmare trying to get my refund. Dreadful people. Some of them couldn't even speak English properly. 👎☹️👎

Halfords Autocentre Doncaster Road Scunthorpe. Recovered there by AA - had spoken to them the day before - reluctantly agreed to the recovery saying no space to park my car - suggested I drive it even though car was showing engine light and overheating and find parking in street - finally agreed to move things around in workshop and take car next day. On arrival employee was rude and dismissive when AA explained may be the wiring to the coolant sensor and refused to take the car - “we don’t do wiring”. He almost shouted at us. AA man was as shocked as me and said he would never use that garage again and kindly re-recovered me to main dealer. Used to be good 2 years ago when I used them before - will not be going back. Appalling how they speak to customers. Would have given 0 stars if available. Avoid!

Avoid..particulalry for the MOT. Cancelled once at tonbridge, rebooked for a later date before Xmas. A day before they called me saying your car will not pass MOT and gave me a long list of defects and associated costs (more than cars worth). So, I took it to another garage and passed by fixing 2 minor items. It was clear that they didn't want to do the job (free membership mot) due to their busy schedule. I will cancell my premium memberhip immediately..

I went in for 2 new tyres at the Northenden branch of National Tyres. I am writing this review under Halfords as they own National Tyres and this review includes details of my dealings with Halfords Complaints Department. Since my very unpleasant experience, the branch has been rebranded as Halfords. My visit was pre-booked online. I ended up with a raft of complaints, including: - Job was completed very late. It took 5.5 hours when I was told it would take 1.75 hours. - Manager (Dave) was unhelpful and rude. He told me "you should be grateful that you got any tyres at all". - I received a ready-to-collect email a full 2 hours before the car was ready to collect. - No apology for keeping me waiting. I booked online and it turned out that neither tyre had been delivered. I asked the manager why he didn't check that tyres were delivered at the start of the day and he said "it wasn't his job". This was one of many negative comments he came out with. I sent a detailed email to National complaints department and received a generic response that didn't deal with any of the points I raised. Having got no further with a follow up email, I sent a letter enclosing all the emails to National's head office. 3 months on I have not had a reply. My letter was sent "signed for" and I have proof of delivery. I then wrote to Halfords Complaints Department enclosing all the emails and the letter sent to National's head office. Over 6 weeks on I have not had a reply. My letter was sent "signed for" and I have proof of delivery. This used to be a good branch. Maybe the rot set in when Halfords took over. This company doesn't care one jot about customer service. Avoid if at all possible.

Online booking of MOT very smooth and good availability as normal garage could not fit me in, joined the free membership to get a discount all good. However, upon arriving at the scheduled time the chap on the desk immediately tried to upsell me a "fuel clean" for special offer of £20 so the car would pass the emissions aspect. (This was declined as its bs). Checked the gov website to see that car had failed the mot. Tyre and other issues around headlamps not pointing the right way - not unexpected but... Was unable to tell me what it would cost to put the problems right without me booking in for a £50 diagnostics in a week. Could conform tyre would cost £145 to replace (It does not cost this much ever). Car now has failed mot, unusable and not fixed and in their mind I should be OK to pay £50 for them to look at the car again, at least £145 for a tyre to be replaced and then they can run another £44 MOT in the hope that they've fixed it. I feared mot for them was a ruse to try and get more expensive jobs out of before booking but I had left it too late to use a local trusted garage so hoped it would be a pass or something minor like a tyre replacement. Didn't offer to fix anything just wanted more cash for doing what I would expect to be done as part of the mot. Worried it was a scam and unfortunately was proven correct.

Recently ordered a bicycle for my daughter in a Halfords store. The next day my sister gave us an old bike so we phoned the store and got the order cancelled. A month later I discover I never got the refund so I phoned Customer services to complain and was informed they cannot pay me back as it was on a credit card and they are 'not allowed to ask for my details over the phone', the only way to get the money back is to go into the store. I informed them that this is very difficult for me as I am disabled. Thus followed a long time-consuming saga as they tried to work out what to do. They finally told me (after being forwarded to the wrong place a few times) that they had sorted the problem. A week later, still no refund. Unbelievable. The staff are lovely and polite but their system is dysfunctional and I think they are breaking the law.

RECENTLY REQUIRED A COMBINED BATTERY CHARGER/TYRE INFLATER. FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO COMPARE WHICH APPLIANCE WAS THE MOST SUITABLE TO MEET MY REQUIREMENTS, I REQUESTED THE HELP OF A MEMBER OF STAFF WHO PUT ME AT EASE AND HELPED ME DECIDE WHICH ITEM I NEEDED TO PURCHASE, WHICH WAS THE SAME MODEL AS THEY USED IN-HOUSE,WHICH WAS RE-ASSURING FOR ME. Very Poor Customer Service if you have a problem....I did. They did not update the service history of my Audi on Audi's database as they promised they would. Many phone calls and emails later, they say there is nothing they can do now as a "10 day" window to upload the details has passed.....Rubbish, just YOU get your error sorted!

Well I booked a slot Saturday 2-4 to have two front tyres fitted when the fitter arrived (late) he said I haven’t got a socket to get your wheel off ( a standard Peugeot ) so I said I have one but he refused to use it his laid back lazy attitude made me ask for a refund,he couldn’t do it so got a manager to call who wouldn’t give a refund so arranged another day to fit three days later they arrived fitted the tyres all was well until we drove the car the next day & lost a brand new wheel trim which must not of been fitted correctly I contacted Halfords they said email them with details & a month on they have done nothing at all not an apology or anything so would I use them again NO

Halfords Auto Centre, Solent Rd, Havant. Tuesday 11th Oct vehicle failed MOT due to cracked coil spring. Arranged for vehicle to to have work done and re-MOT on Fri 14th Oct at 13:00. Received call near closing time to advise Job not done and that it would be done Sat 15th AM. Due to inconvenience negotiated a discount. Early Sat morning rec call to advise no-one experienced available so job would now be scheduled for following Monday. Again an additional discount negotiated. I changed all my plans, incurred taxi costs for all my travel needs. Circa 12:00 on the Saturday follow up call received to advise car was ready. To late now for me to collect, away from home. Went to pick it up on the Monday, and after a heated exchange with the temporary manager (who was useless and incompetent) I secured my discounts. It was quite clear to me on my visits to this service centre that it needs a shake up. Whilst collecting my vehicle on the Monday it was clear that staff were lacking clear direction from management. As a new customer to Halfords it is unlikely that I would now ever recommend this facility to friends and family. and unless things change i will not be renewing my membership next year
