I bought a "vintage" bottle of wine and a copy of the times for £100. I was sent a £10 bottle of wine, and an amercian newspaper. When I criticised the wine I was sent a highly defensive copy and pasted explanation of what "vintage" was, then essential detailed its as "wine", it was an explanation that would only have to be concocted to defend the sale of cheap wine marketing as being better. Shoddy company. Avoid like the plague. I cant sent the gift back, as stated clearly to them so I asked for a partial refund and have been ignored. Youll read their pathetic attempts at customer service below. "The customer rejected our offer at a full refund". Yes, of course I did. What am I going to do, to the recipient and ask for the gift back? The customer service insight of a 5 year old child. Not the mention the defence, of "we don't stipulate what bottle we will send you". Literally reeks of deceit. I paid £100, one hundred pounds, and received a bottle you can buy for £9.16. Please let this display of stupidity inform your buying decisions. AVOID THIS COMPANY

The carrier says the address is not good while it's perfectly fine, so the newspaper has been sent back to you. You are sending me an email to ask money to resend it without asking first if I'm right ! I don't know if I could do that with my clients...

Unfortunately the birthday present arrived one week late and although when I complained Laura offered a £7.50 rebate, it still doesn’t make up for the fact that it was not delivered in time for my friends birthday. Disappointed as apparently the end product looks good and is a fascinating read.

Extremely disappointed. I ordered 3 separate items for 3 different people as Christmas presents. around 9th of December more than 2 weeks before Christmas Dispite paying for courier service and being assured that they were on their way and would arrive between 17th and 20th of December apparently they were actually sent by post and when i rang up to check where my order was after the 20th I was informed that they appear to have been lost in the post. Not a lot of Ho Ho in my house as a result !

Upon order acceptance, a couple of days later my order was cancelled as the product wasn't resalable. Unfortunately, this was for a special wedding anniversary where my father had worked at the paper in question. Very unfortunate and disappointed.

The quality of the Vintage Cook Book is really poor with the printed text barely legible. I had to pay postage for delivery and then to return the product. This was an expensive mistake when I was looking for a special gift for a 60th birthday.

Very poor Customer Service None delivery of the item. When asked for assistance in trying to locate the parcel I was told to sort it myself, despite the Post Office directing me to their website which specifically states the sender is responsible for contacting the PO about lost parcels. This book is a present for a friend currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy and was intended to cheer them up. All it has done is add extra stress to an already stressful situation. Very disappointed in the lack of help from this company. I'm sure they would be brilliant if everything goes according to plan, but they are not equipped to deal with anything out of the ordinary. The person on the other end of the email seems incapable of thinking outside the box; they have a script to work to and are sticking with that. There is no human contact or feelings involved. Such a shame in this day and age when businesses really should value the customer. Thanks for nothing! Added 22.12.20 - Full refund and apology received - thank you.

I ordered a newspaper dated 12/04/1929 as a 90th birthday present for my father - it hasn't arrived in time - I have been asked to review it without having received it! So terribly disappointed as my father would have been over the moon with such a gift.

I placed an order on your website with the expectation of receiving it by February 14th, but as of February 19th, my product has yet to arrive. Not only did I have to pay exorbitant shipping fees, but I was also unexpectedly charged high customs duties akin to what one might pay for a newspaper. I hope that when the product finally arrives, it doesn't add to the disappointment. Additionally, I regret not taking advantage of the site's promotional offers and instead opting for a costly purchase. Overall, I'm deeply dissatisfied with my shopping experience.

Ordered paper for 80th birthday, didn’t arrive and when I contacted Historic Newspaper, they looked into it and I was told that the order was lost, had the option to re-order, which I went with, but then only to be told that I had the last one. Communication with Historic Newspaper was good, but I was very disappointed. Was told I could another another one, but would take another 2 - 3 working days. I ordered one from another company and they had it arrived 48 hours later.

I was disappointed to learn that the newspaper I had ordered was too damaged to be sent. It was a special present for my brother’s 75th. Of course, much better to be informed and I appreciate that the newspaper was not examined until just before dispatch. The refund was correctly processed.

I ordered this book on 8/2/21 for my dads 90th birthday which was on 21/2/21 .. I still have never received it I am so disappointed as delivery date was given as 2-3 days with some allowance either side It was all I had bought for him .. Date has come and gone and still no book I have requested a refund with no reply Bitterly disappointed for such a milestone !! Cheryl
