“The Old Barn itself was lovely and spacious. However, everything in it was tired and tatty. There was a large hole on one if the sofas burn marks on the carpet. The kitchen wasn't overly well equipped and frankly not very clean. Thare wasn't even a vegetable knife. There were crumbs left on the toaster, the hob was quite dirty, the fridge seal was very black and the oven, and whilst someone had put foil on the shelves and bottom, it wasn't very clean. The showers were very poor, not very powerful, and not easy to get a good shower because you couldn't direct them very well. There was black mould on the lip of the shower base in the en suite bathroom. This probably sounds like a really bad review which is not my intention. I just think that for what it cost for a week, it should have been a bit better furnished and equipped, and most of all clean.”

“Location is excellent and easy to get to beaches. We had problems with shower and often no hot water which was annoying especially when getting back from surfing. We couldn’t enjoy the sunroom as too hot in summer there and also seagulls’ breeding season.”

“Actually this should be 5stars, but I was angered by an advisor on chat last week. My email and website was temporarily deleted by host and I didn't receive the email to review the stunning harbour View in Lamorna Cove. The chat agent said they cannot resend a review link. Bigger issue, why is there not a simple button or link on the booking 🤷🏻 Yeah, that's why holiday cottages get a 4, because the app etc needs improving and the ability to resend an email on request. I desperately wanted to leave a review as 1 person left a shocking bad review and I wanted to add some good and realistic feedback. Anyway, you're good, but could easily be even better.”

“Anchor House is a wonderful holiday home, spacious and includes all the essentials required by guests. The Tarka trail immediately opposite the house was ideal for dog walking and the location is close to many beaches including the quiet beach at Instow. The only negative point I would make is the house wasn’t as clean as I would have expected. Otherwise a great home for a large group of family and friends.”

“Trouble free booking using the app. Good selection of cottages that can be filtered by area, quick and easy booking with good communication throughout before and after your holiday. Sunflower House in Alnwick deserves a 10/10. Probably the nicest cottage we’ve ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated throughout? Excellent welcome basket. Everything needed was provided for a week away from home. Owners messaged to welcome us. We really appreciated the extra touches.”

“Absolutely beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Very clean and well equipped. Loved the hot tub and looking across the fields while sat relaxing in it. The owners were very friendly and helpful, not intrusive in any way but on hand for any issues. Which we didn’t have! Loved it! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely return at some point!”

“We booked Slate Cottage in Pennal North Wales for one week. Every thing you need is provided. The overall condition of the cottage was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable. The garden was perfect for sitting out in and having some wine. The lounge was comfortable and the service on the television was excellent. Parking was a little tight, however we managed. No problem if you have a small car. No problem booking through Holiday Cottages. Always use this web site.”
