“The Quarterdeck in Tenby, Wales is a beautiful property in a wonderful location. There are parking bays nearby which are free with the cottage. There are so many pubs, restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk so you do not have to cook unless you want to. The kitchen had everything we expected. There is also a washing machine and small freezer. The living room is open plan with the kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 with double bed and 1 with twin beds. Ideal for family of 4 or just a couple. The cottage is right on the beach and the sights and sounds are so relaxing. This is our second visit and there definitely be a third.”

“Apartment 3 at St Mary’s House in Tenby was filthy. It felt as if it had not been cleaned in a while. Upon arrival we found dead spiders and several cobwebs. We vacuumed the ones we could see and focused on settling ourselves in with a 3 year old and 5 month old, as we had arrived around 5pm. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of it. After the first night and second day there we found bugs crawling out of the walls, however we had spent most of the day outside and were too tired to investigate further. However, during the second night we noticed a couple of bugs crawling across the bedroom floor. This made us very uneasy and upon closer inspection of the property on the third day, we realised there were cobwebs on all wall furnishings and ceiling lights. Beds were not clean. The bunk bed frame in one of the bedrooms was dusty and had dead insects around it. The property also smelt of damp which probably explained the excessive use of air fresheners in every room. At this point we’d had enough and I messaged the owner Chris about the bugs and spider issue and lack of cleanliness. We were hoping he would come back to us and offer for the cleaner to come in and just give the property a good clean. However, his response was to say that he couldn’t do much about bugs and spiders in winter as they’re only trying to get inside for the warmth. He told use to contact travel chapter if the property wasn’t up to standard. His dismissive tone was really disappointing. We simply could not stay here any longer and by sheer luck managed to find accommodation elsewhere. This was meant to be a 5 night stay but we left after 3 nights. Wish we were able to find alternative accommodation sooner. Just to note, the alternative accommodation was impeccably clean. Once we returned home from our break, I raised a complaint with Holiday Cottages and I sent over pictures clearly showing the lack of cleanliness and the owners response. What’s worse is, they say they will investigate, yet they come back and say their investigation has been concluded and there isn’t much they could do this time around. Is this a joke? They completed disregarded the images I sent as evidence and the fact that we had to move accommodation. Who in their right mind would think to move unless the property was not up to standard. Even worse, they told me to speak to the owner Chris, when I clearly explained that he was no help whatsoever and sent the communication from him to them. Never again, will we book through Holiday Cottages. They will not actually deal with any issues and just leave you even more frustrated and disappointed. They will ignore all evidence sent to them. I’ve uploaded some photos of the bunk bed frame and carpet around it. However, other pics of the lights, furnishings and bugs, spiders etc, it will not allow me to upload and comes up with error message as the screenshot shows. One final point, we booked based on the positive reviews, so this makes the whole experience even more upsetting.”

“They basically stole my money ($1500 CAD). The UK made some new insane laws where as a dual citizen you need a British passport to enter. These new laws came into effect very quickly and I was not able to get a passport in time. They were not understanding at all about this situation, and did not even offer a partial refund, or partial credit. To top it off they did not even allow me to rebook my dates. This was 1.5 months before my trip by the way. Bad customer service as well, cold and robotic. Be aware when booking trips with them (and read the fine print).”

“A Perfect Stay at Primrose Cottage Our stay at Primrose Cottage was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The cottage itself was charming, cozy, and just the right size for our needs. The kitchen was very well-equipped, making it easy to cook meals and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. As dog lovers, we were thrilled with how dog-friendly the cottage was. Our pups were made to feel just as welcome as we were, with thoughtful touches like dog treats waiting for them. The icing on the cake was the fresh eggs from the owner’s hens, which were a delightful bonus! We were also lucky enough to have access to a small paddock where our dogs could run around, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Primrose Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped getaway with a personal touch.”

“Excellent customer service, could not fault it. We left a cycling bag outside the cottage as we were leaving. we rang the following day when we had realised our mistake, the lady we spoke to was very polite and helpful and passed our information onto the Keswick branch. They have also been extremely helpful, keeping us informed at all stages. We received our bag this week for which we were really grateful. Can not fault them. Perfect customer care!”

“Had a lovely time here The home was very clean and tidy and welcoming. It was very peaceful and beautiful. We had to have the fires on most of the time as it was cold in February but it was very cosy to be able to sit by the fire. Only thing to watch out for-There was a farm dog that kept coming in the garden as it was extremely windy the gate kept blowing open and it kept coming in to do its business and our little one ended up standing in it. I can imagine this cottage would be lovely in the summer with the garden to enjoy.”

“Big thank you to Holiday Cottages and the owners of Yattis cottage in Eskdale the Lakes. We loved our stay, the property was like a History lesson, old quirky wonderful furniture beams the lot, with a modern kitchen amd bathroom. The fireplace, wood provided added to the atmosphere with all the furnishings, couldn't of asked for more. Loved the location couple of close by pubs, and the beautiful surrounding countryside.”

“We had a wonderful family break at Red Kites Retreat. Beautifully quiet location with fantastic views. The cottage was very well equipped, allowing us to 'come dine with me' and entertain ourselves in front of the wood burning stove. It's a great location as a base for exploring North West Wales.”

“The drive to the cottage was absolutely riddled with dreadful pot holes that were impossible to avoid. They were incredibly deep and in trying to avoid one, a stone hit my windscreen and caused a crack. The cottage itself was OK but a working smart TV would have been useful but only Netflix was available. In reporting this to the owner, he admitted in was a cheap TV and couldn't fix it. The bedrooms were cold with only small radiators which were not suitable for the time of year. I will not be returning or recommending.”
