“Booking was easy. Great location and property for 11 plus dogs. We have had 6 get togethers in the last few years and the family, ages 8 to 79, unanimously agreed that Park Lodge was the best yet.”

“The company took the safety deposit at time of booking which was about 6 weeks prior to the holiday date and didnt return it to me until 2 weeks after our end date. Correspondence chasing the return were ignored apart from one. Totally unacceptable.”

“Tidle Crest is in need of a deep clean and a refresh. We love the apartment's location in Beadnell. The sofas are saggy and past their best. The towels and bedding need replacing. There were crumbs on the worktops. A very poor selection of drinking glasses. We were disappointed on this visit.”

“Booking was easy cannot complain. Unfortunately the holiday let Stybarrow Fold, Windermere was extremely disappointing. Property was extremely tired and in need of decoration and upgrading in the lower bathrooms. Shower cubicle was dangerous very slippy with nothing to grab onto, we did mention this to the agency and they sent a couple of shower/bath mats to use via Amazon, thank you. We had faulty radiators, reported but not fixed during our visit. Carpets throughout were severely stained and dirty along skirting boards. Breakfast room furniture was mixed and looked scruffy. We were asked to remove the bed linen and just leave the pillow and mattress protecters on, we did only to find brown/ orange stains on the pillows and mattress protectors! Kitchen was in need of a good clean, oven was greasy and food crumbs left from previous holiday makers! External bins were left partially full with previous people waste, I guess this is unfair as it’s due to the bin collection, however, it’s off putting. Garden furniture was old and in need of a clean, again I guess that’s harsh as it was spring, however, for £3k for a weeks holiday it would have been nice to be able to use the furniture. Compost bin in the corner of the garden was disgraceful, it’s has been ransacked by feral and there were partly composted bags and food scraps everywhere, reported to the agency and the owners were not prepared to have it cleared away. The solution the agency/property owners gave was to make sure the dogs didn’t go to that area of the garden, The agency then agreed to send a handyman to clear it, but that didn’t happen during our stay. We ended up with a very sick dog, and cut our stay short to get home. The welcome pack was an absolute joke and more of an insult, I must add it wasn’t there on arrival it came about 3 days into the break. To finish on a good point the views from the property were amazing hence 2 stars.”

“Thank you for reminding us! As you know we couldn’t go because of emergency treatment and operation followed by 24 hr care of our Labrador. We paid the full price and had to leave it empty. The owners weren’t prepared to let us visit again out of their main season at a reduced rate. So we won’t be visiting “again”. Have to say it has dented our relationship with Holiday Cottages as well. Very sad! Peter Turner”

“Sheiling barn is a great cottage well equipped and spacious. We’ve booked several cottages through holidaycottages.co.uk and they’ve all been of a high standard and well administered. This was the best so far. However they are expensive and this time we had to take our own towels hence only 4stars.”

“enjoyed our stay comfortable just right for what we needed as a base to see family and join in a very happy occasion and visit places it was clean ok a little tired in places the staff were polite and helpful. Cafe very nice good selection of food&drink if we need to come to this area again will look to stop again.”

“Very poor – not as described Extremely disappointed with this stay. The property was dirty on arrival (sink, oven, shower, and even the dishwasher full of dirty pots). Towels smelled awful, even the replacements. Multiple issues throughout: - Oven/microwave didn’t work - Toilet constantly running - Windows dirty, some mouldy, and not closing properly - Poor lighting and impractical layout Basic essentials were missing or wrong: - Only half a toilet roll for 3 people - No welcome pack (despite being advertised) - No instructions for anything - Incorrect WiFi details - No cleaning equipment Also had safety concerns (no outside lighting on stairs). Complaints were poorly handled – including the suggestion of sending a 12-year-old to clean, which was completely inappropriate. No proper resolution during the stay. Overall, not clean, poorly maintained, and not worth the money. Would not return.”
