“Far Wescoe is a quirky rustic property in beautiful surroundings. There was an excellent welcome pack to greet us on arrival but unfortunately
our stay was a pre Christmas visit with family when the weather was very cold. The cottage was not heated up for our arrival and it is an extremely cold house with lots of flagged floor tiles and draughts everywhere. I had to wear my daytime clothes in bed and wear lots of heavy clothing in the cottage during the day.
I contacted Holiday cottages before our visit to question the heating
arrangements and left a message but received no reply.
Early in our visit we realised it would be difficult to heat the cottage to a comfortable standard so we again contacted Holiday Cottages
We were informed the that the owners would be contacted and someone would come back to us within the next 30minutes . Three days later we are still awaiting that call!
I would not recommend this cottage to anyone, particularly older people like myself and my partner( age 76 and 82). I imagine it is a lovely place to stay in the summer worth’s but not in the colder times of the year.
Might I suggest that the cottage is pre heated and at least one days supply of logs are provided before each let if it continues to be let during the winter months.
Can I also suggest that Holiday Cottages substantially improve their
communication channels to maintain contact with their users.”
