I do not have any problems with the quality of the shoes, they are comfortable and soft. At full price they are quite expensive, so I only buy when offers are advertised, and to be honest there always seems to be some kind of offer or incentive available if you buy more than one pair of shoes. I am happy with the delivery service by Hermes which is prompt from ordering. My concern is when you request an exchange, it appears to take in excess of a week for the items via Hermes to show as a return at Hotter ( my experience). Customer services told me that there was low stock on the shoes I wanted to exchange to, and that it could take up to 21 days for an exchange to be processed and for the shoes to reach me!!! This sounds very excessive especially when I can receive a new brand new order within 3 days. Customer services suggested I re buy another pair of shoes for a speedier delivery, then apply for a refund on my original order ( takes up to 10 days !) There has to be another quicker method for exchanging items. The shoes I wanted to exchange were Livvy, and if I waited the 21 days plus the week it took for the first ones to be returned, it would be autumn. In the end I cancelled my order. This is a disappointing part of the Hotter system and one which concerns me for future orders.

The size issue that I had with Hotter shoes has been sorted out now that they are manufactured in the UK. I have no problem with the shoes, they are comfortable, well made and attractive. I also have nothing but praise for the staff in the shops who are friendly, hard working and helpful. However, Hotter's customer service falls way below the standard I am used to. As I have been banned from ordering shoes by post, because 5 years ago I returned some shoes which were too small, I have now to find different methods of buying them. When I asked Customer Services which stores would have the shoes in the size I was looking for, she told me that she was was unable to do this because the information was not up to date and if I turned up at the store and the shoes were not there, I would come back and complain. I politely explained that I could ring the store to check but she replied "Well you are not going to visit all 77 of them now are you?". I continue to try to support British firms, including Hotter, but fear that until their staff are given some training on the telephone, and the management take accountability for their shortcomings, they will not achieve their objective of a 40% increase in mail order sales.

I bought a pair several months ago, and it took longer than it should have to arrive. Called Customer Service, who sent out another pair. Those arrived quickly (don't know what happened to the original pair). Didn't like the color so returned the shoes and got a speedy refund. Recently ordered another pair and am quite happy with these. So, on balance, my experience with Hotter has been good.

Whilst the shoes were very good unfortunately they didn't fit so I had to return them. However after two and a half weeks of not hearing if the shoes had arrived I telephoned and was told that they hadn't been received, but it could take up to three weeks. In the meantime I had paid for these shoes on a credit card (as this is the safest way to pay on internet) so I had to pay my bill to avoid interest. I have since been informed that they are in receipt of the shoes and will issue a refund. Although the shoes are good I would never deal with this company again because of the innificient way that the returns are handled. Very disappointed. I should add that these shoes were collected by a courier, so shouldn't have taken so long to arrive back when it took just a couple of days from my order for me to receive them.
