Here is a copy of the email I sent to HoF this morning, only to have all of my pertinent comments ignored by what looks like a semi automated response - Dear Customer Service, I orde​red this bag and upon delivery I found it was damaged so I am returning it to you. When you receive this bag back you will find that there are three indentations at the top of the bag and this bag should never have been despatched in this condition. I am therefore very disappointed as this bag was intended as a Christmas gift selected by our daughter and we cannot see any more stock on your website. We took it to your HoF Metrocentre, Gateshead store yesterday in the hope we could exchange it for the same bag but again they had no more stock. We asked for a refund but they would not give us one ! Why not ? it is going to be returned to your warehouse one way or another. I am even more disappointed when I read on your Returns Advice " Postal charges of exchanges and returns are at the cost of the customer ....". So let us examine this for what has happened - We order the goods in good faith, expect a damage free bag and pay £4.99 delivery. We now have to pay return postage of probably around £3.10 (Royal Mail 2nd class) to return the bag to you due to HoF having insufficient quality control procedures to check bags prior to despatch. HoF store refuse to accept it back forcing us into paying delivery charges again. I am hopeful that you will see that this is not acceptable customer service and refund me £44.99 plus £8.09 postage we have incurred. (note - I mistakenly posted £48.99 earlier) I look forward to you agreeing to my comments. Yours sincerely Brian Waugh I think my comments are self explanatory and fair so I would ask "why do you have a customer service dept when your service to date has been absolutely terrible and all HoF seem to do is send automated messages which do not answer your obvious customer service shortcomings. The heading for this questionnaire request is "Your opinion matters to HoF " I would question whether it does. The very least you can do to my mind is either refund me, credit me or send a gift voucher for £8.09 as it wasn't my fault you sent me a damaged goods.

Do NOT buy The North Face, Ladies Quest jacket, size 8/XS in Navy/Tin Grey!!! Looks like a bargain price but it isn’t what it seems. I bought it and was sent a second-hand, very old, bobbly, XL, Nike Hoodie with the North Face jacket label attached to it. Absolutely appalling! I contacted customer services, and to cut a very long story short, I was told I couldn’t have an exchange as it was out of stock. It is now showing as in stock again a few days later, but this must be the item I returned! DO NOT BUY IT!!!!

We ordered a birthday present online which was not delivered. We even spoke to customer service who said it would arrive the following day. It did not. when I tried to investigate further over the weekend I discovered customer service is not open on Saturday or Sunday. So I went in to store. They don't have access to the system to help. They will call cutomer service who will call me. Very dissappointed. I had to buy another present. Still don't know where the previous one is. I think every other store has a customer service department that works weekends. I bet the John Lewis one does!!

Awful customer service. I was sent the incorrect item twice and not refunded delivery or any type of recompense. The customer service team were almost writing from a script. Very disappointed and will definitely not order from house of Fraser again.

Need to return goods can no longer take back to store and the postage is really expensive to cover the value highly disappointed

I received coat with security tags on. Not able to return to a store as in lockdown so will need to return. Think the customer service is automated.

Wrong item delivered. Now I have to return it, pay the postage to do so, then wait 14 days for the refund and then finally claim the postage back. I suspect that will take me to 3 weeks following my purchase to chase / follow up and mess around and I still won’t have what my son wanted My solution. Never to shop online at HoF again Beyond this I’ve had no response at all from HoF’s customer services Awful Simple really

Pay for the delivery and return. You can’t refund online stuffs in the store. None of the stores do all these rubbish systems. Need to change it.

Paid extra to have my order delivered next day - was delivered three weeks later! I had to keep chasing customer service advisors, which a customer shouldn’t have to do, especially when spending £600. Also when my order arrived there was no delivery note/receipt, so I have to chase them up again. Very poor service and awful aftercare. I shan’t be returning and urge all others to shop elsewhere.

I hate writing this. I’ve loved House of Fraser since I was little, my grandma and I used to spend hours in Darlington Binns roaming the shelves for that special Xmas present or sweet 16 birthday dress. Heck this is so dramatic but it’s the truth. I ordered a coat online last Saturday, paid £113 and £7.99 for next day delivery. The parcel didn’t arrive until Monday and when questioned, HoF simply replied they don’t deliver on Sunday. So why advertise next day delivery?! Absurd service. When the parcel did arrive, the price tag on the coat was £83. I had paid £113 online. I again asked HoF why this happened to which I was offered a basic reply of ‘that’s the correct price’. This is not the level of service I am used to from HoF and I’m not angry. Just disappointed.

Item box came damaged as a result of poor packaging from House of Fraser. Contacted them via the website, no reply. Contacted them via email no reply. Poor customer service!

Was sent the wrong item. Online description was for a women’s size and was sent a child’s size! £7.99 delivery charge for an incorrect item - not acceptable!

I ordered a Ralph Lauren jacket that arrived in a very poor condition. I have since returned the item for a replacement. Thus far I am not impressed with House Of Fraser, hence my rating, and would not recommend your company at present.

really disappointed with house of Fraser i accidently double ordered on line and i went into store to get refund and wastold asof monday you had to get agift note of exchange NO REFUND none of your customers were told about this and also considering what is going on in the present climate ie umable to try clothes on in store i think this is really bad on house of fraser i wont be ordering from you again its a joke !!!

I purchased a T-shirt from yourselves for £60, I was happy with the item until I came to iron it. I found 3 holes in the T-shirt and I ordered the shirt next day delivery and needed it ASAP. So after having to rush to return the item at 9pm for an event the next day I didn’t get my £10 delivery back and had to get a different shirt as I couldn’t revive my money back, very poor from yourselves and wouldn’t buy from yourselves online again.

The wrong item was sent. The box had the correct item description on it but inside the box was a differnt colour pair of trainers. Having to return. Very inconvienient. More checks should be done before sending out packages
