I have spent many thousands of pounds over a number of years with this company. I even got some real bargains in the early years when the majority of lots contained multiple varied items. I have bought a lot of real rubbish as well, broken, defective, miss described & bits missing. More recently they seem to be reducing the number of items in a lot to just one or two things. This leaves you nowhere to go if they are not as you expect them to be. Sometimes they state lots are incomplete if it’s cheap stuff or their pictures will show bits missing & in fact when I contacted customer services about the fishing rod referred to below I checked their site first & about 10 items were listed as incomplete. Why do it with some & not all? I think with the more expensive items they appear to try to disguise the fact with the way the item is photographed. For example I recently purchased a five piece fishing rod, of which only four pieces were present and a damaged snooker cue for £74.99 including postage. I can’t get a replacement part for the rod as it’s discontinued & the cue was straight in the bin. The photo showed the rod in the bag & tube. The fact that it was described as fishing rod suggested to me that it was complete & could be used for fishing but as it is incomplete I cannot fish with it. Customer services inferred it was my own fault for not travelling hundreds of miles to view it beforehand. The prices for a lot of items being auctioned now are close to & even above retail prices by the time the extra 50% over the hammer price & postage is added. It’s almost as if someone is deliberately bidding the prices up!! Deliveries are inconsistent too and it can take from as little as a few day to several weeks to receive your items, The only saving grace is that they use DPD who keep you informed every step of the way, once they have actually received the items. John Pye have had their time for me now. I will never spend another penny with with them. If they treated their regular customers better or were more consistent with their descriptions & photos I would have spent many more thousands of pounds with them but hey ho their loss.

Bud on what you call a trade pallet your description was overstock / display goods All 4 items were totally smashed and not as described. No refund given due to their trade policy ( which I could not find on their web site Basically they can sell you anything under that policy even if the items you are bidding on are not even on the bidding list .

Avoid. Do not risk Faulty newly packaged items. I got an Air Fryer that's old, filthy and doesn't work - refund not possible due to carefully worded terms of reference. They will tell you "You should have attended the viewing" blanket statement. No honesty in stating if the item is new/second hand / as new/ faulty etc furthermore photos are misleading & do not to show all defects. stay away

Absolute rubbish... Bought a job lot for my son and his girlfriend who are moving into their own house soon.. The lot consisted of:- Shirt steamer - the steamer was broken and had the main parts missing. Towel rail - broken feet and missing bolt's. Washing basket's - one handle broken, the other shows wear and looks like it about to break like the first one. In conclusion £33 spent to get absolutely nothing of worth. Phoned John Pye auctions all they said was read the terms and conditions. Very bad customer service with no resolution they are using us as a waste disposal route. Buyer beware!

For small items not an issue but for bigger electrical items...avoid like the plague! Initially it was the tumble dryer which when I received it didn't work. But WORSE was to come... I bought a Bosch AXT 25 TC garden shredder which arrived with half the the items missing..all the safety pieces..the chute etc etc...AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Just one big scam! You might aswell place a bet as hand money over to them with expectations of receiving anything close to what you think you're purchasing, infact you'd have better odds! And they continue to get away with it! WHY! Once they have your money and regardless of what you receive you are not getting it back because it seems that John Pye do not need to abide by any consumer rights as apparently their T's and C's are law! Honestly do not give these scammers your money, you may be bolstered in your faith of them when you initially get a couple of ok buys but guarantee eventually you'll be fleeced like the rest of us.

If you can prove that you were misled or that the goods you bought were in any way misrepresented by John Pye, your credit card company will refund you. This fraudulent company blur photographs of items taken from misleading angles next to a inaccurate Lot descriptions quoting an RRP as if the item is 100% working fine. Complete con. Just because you CAN view the item in person, does not give John Pye the right to mislead if you DON'T view the item in person. In fact, ask for a condition report from a distance and you will 100% be fobbed off with, " we have no one around at weekends," despite our weekend only sale. Total mick-takers. Bought some bose ear BUDS for £100 and paid for delivery and when they arrived their was just ONE ear bud not TWO as advertised. Contacted John pye and said nothing they could do about it but I said you advertised two ear buds and their still not interested. Bought a Sony speaker and that went up in smoke when I turned it on.

Absolutely dreadful! Purchased a "Mirrored Cabinet" and received an empty metal box. Complete misleading and misrepresentation in catalogue description. I had also bought what appeared to be, a brand new microwave in a sealed box. I fully expected some fault/damage or end of range item but it is a completely useless piece of metal. Although they say you have the option to view, I doubt whether many do as the cost of travel etc. would outweigh the benefit of bidding online. Yes, I purchased cheaper that RRP and took a risk but didn't expect to be buying someone else's rubbish.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE UNSCRUPULOUS THIEVES. They sell items which are used, broken (badly visibly damaged, not just operationally defective) and missing parts. Look at the comments on here. All they do is reply to say "sorry, please use live chat or talk to customer service", only for the cycle to begin again, customer service say "oh it's sold as seen, did you not attend the viewing?" - what, in Nottingham when I'm 500 miles away? Why have an online service in the first place if your patrons clearly wouldn't be able to view (it would make no financial sense to do so when time and fuel travel costs considered). Utterly appalling service and we will be approaching trading standards and our family lawyer until we are done right by. Quoting from online for now: "...[if specified goods are not second hand] the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (SGA) will still apply. Under the SGA, the item must match its description, be of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. If the item fails any of those standards, you have the legal right to return it for a repair, replacement or refund."

Don’t buy unless you’ve seen an item in person. They take no accountability for inaccurate descriptions or misleading photographs.

This is the second time i got scamed . Look, if you describe something of the product, then at least sell what you say. This auction site is the worst i have ever seen. I can't believe that you get away from these ridiculous scams. If you describe that you sell a Blue Car, then don't send a white car. or if you tell informative that you sell banana, then why are you selling oranges.. If i want to buy something, i aspect at least the details of the product should be correct. On the add saying 200L and i got 150L tank.
