“I bid on a blender but when it arrived it did not work. I asked for a replacement or refund but they said I should have read the small print. It appears they are selling anything whether it works or not. If you have any sense pay a little more and get it from a reputable company. These guys are just modern-day scammers. Don't be fooled as I was and be led into thinking it is a good deal. They have kept the money. STAY AWAY! Terrible company. Just money grabbers. Hopefully by reading this it will save you money. “Hi All, There is a lot to take in here from the reviews about faulty goods, missing parts , failed deliveries etc. I personally have been buying for a year or so and have experienced minimal problems A) Missing quantities (I got a partial refund) B) Getting what I did not buy , so they made the order up with some other bits (okay not to bad). JP are correct to say "come and inspect first" obviously you cannot plug in a coffee machine and have one, so do not buy and stop F moaning maybe greed got the better of you ? When you buy a big ticket item you must take a gamble, if you are not a gambler DON'T BUY. From my experience as a trader it works for me , great deals very cheap but you have to use a bit of common sense and look through the blurb. Would I buy a TV , Washing Machine, etc with no guarantee NO, go to Curry's and bid them (nothing to lose) I see people buying on JP for more than it's in the shops , what a bunch of ???? they deserve to get stuffed. Anyway think twice about ALL auctions and I am very happy you lot are not buying again , more for us traders. Bye Bye and be lucky.”

“Scammers. Purchased 2 dash cams. I rang to ask if they worked, they said yes. When they arrived.....they didn't even turn on!! When complained they said I should have viewed them personally and read the 50 pages of terms and conditions!! My sister also purchased a toaster....when she plugged it in...it blew up and caught fire!! Very dangerous company and liars. Will never buy from them again and I've told at least over 100 people (and growing every month lol) never to use them. Use ebay or amazon or other reputable companies who at least have some decent standards not like John pye”

“Absolutely baffling service. I paid the invoices straightaway and 2 weeks later still had not received the items. I got in touch with the useless customer service and was told to wait 14working days. I did and got in touch again. Customer service advised to get in touch with the auction site directly and fill some forms (which they could have done themselves!). Response from the auction site: "yeah we have a backlog, we apologise, we'll ship the items whenever. It could be 30days" Their T&C even states that for deliveries "time is not of the essence" Abismal”

“please stay away from this scammer please stay away from this scammer I have bought a coffee machine cost me over £200 it’s not working I have contact them they said viewing was offered so I said how I’m going test a coffee machine they said you can plug it in and see if the lights working? yes the lights are working but this not the light what I want from a coffee machine !”

“Everything is wrong here, no clear note about the quality of the product, pic on website may not match to the actual product. Most of my items are either non working, broken from sonewhere or not in working conditions at all. Everything is happening here on a name of policy. Stay away from this site.”

“The item I bought was damaged and didn't work. They wouldn't help in any way, as I could have potentially gone to view it in person. Nowhere on the page of the item did it say this. It also didn't say the item would be used or damaged. They just want your money and refuse to help at all.”

“Fraudsters and cheats Fraudsters and cheats, AVOID. Clearly another money grabbing outfit not interested in customers or customer service. Despite terms stating items 'maybe damaged, seconds or returns', items are actually sent out totally incomplete. Effectively they sell half a product, with major parts missing, despite description stating otherwise. Lack of clarity, lack of honesty and generally an uneducated slippery outfit looking to rip of the public, all that's wrong with UK companies today. Date of experience: 30 May 2023”

“Shocking again when will I learn to buy from these con artists. Always hide behind the t&c. Brought a box of steering wheel locks .I thought that a couple would of be working but nòooooo. They advertise a steering lock in the packaging so took a chance that had been opened and no key so worthless so was the other 14 they hid in a box all damaged . That's it I learn by my mistakes. Totally a company that used the public to get rid if there waste and charge for it .”

“Viewed an item on the Marchington web site - usually they have several photo's of the items for sale. The furniture you can usually see if there is any damage. The item I was interested in was a small desk it was boxed so you could not see the item. There were 3 pictures of the desk. One was lifted from the La- Redoute web site the other two were of the box. As I live a two hour drive from Marchington I asked if they could tell me if there was any damage to the item. I was told I should have viewed the item not very good customer service especially for a blue badge holder. Several years ago you could telephone and they would have a quick look, but now the customer service is so bad they discriminate against the disabled. Date of experience: 28 March 2023”

“The price of the products is always higher than normal. I can't figure out if there are people who still buy from them. For the same things on ebay you can buy them at a much lower price. Also if there is a problem you can return them to ebay and get a refund. In john pie they won't refund your money even it says they are not responsible if anything happens during delivery. First you buy things that you are not sure will work at a very high price after they add their fees and the shipping cost.”

“Bought a couple of items. Didn't expect anything to work, but did expect everything to be there, like the full product. Surprise, like the rest of the reviews, this one is a negative. I emailed to say pls replace or refund, nah they just started their terms, so won't ever buy from them again. Do not buy without going to view first, otherwise just don't.”

“well, so i bought pretty normal amount of lots to be able to give honest review, at the start things seemed nice, i left one review somewhere of one star because of their customer service and charges and delivery time, although was about to change to 3 starts as things are not that bad, i got couple cheap items not up to expectations but it was alright not loss anyway, until my most expensive item arrived TV stand, totally wrong item, i paid for a nice tv stand with fireplace in the middle which cost exactly same unit around 500 i paid 70 with fees + 80 delivery which is costly but well still cheap for what i bought, arrives today, just a simple TV console worth 99£ on the internet!!!! OMG im so so frustrated to not listen to other reviews and thinking eh maybe its okay, worse part i waited for one month for it to arrive!!! and its wrong it gonna take another month for them to get back if and if its gonna happen, and then another month or who knows how long to send me right unit”

“Customer service non existant, looks like they check what you write and if its a complaint or something to be resolved they just leave it and dont answer, received only only received part of the lots bid the same day, DPD has nothing for me which means is still in their warehouse, i actually think when they see something sold cheaper than expected they just dont send it to you and say its gone or something happened and make it very hard to get the money back because there is no customer service, please people save your nerves and money for something else, believe its not worth it, but if your try be careful and make bids when you research well of the item you buy and bid half price of the cheapest option you found on internet so there are no regrets, although once i have resolved everything im not bidding here no more these couple £ of saving or extra income does not pay for the nerves you have to put and never know whats about to arrive and whats not.”

“Appalling service. Didn't take my payment for delivery. I have an email from my bank saying it was down to the merchant. I chased up the delivery after a week a and was told I couldn't before two weeks. If I'd been able to do it before I'd have arranged to collect it. The item is still in Nottingham but they've told me it's being dumped tomorrow. To say I'm upset is an understatement. I have wept over this as I've lost almost £300. DON'T buy from this company. They don't care about their customers at all.”
