THIS WAS FANTASTIC. I paid $3.50 for a 80" flatscreen tv. Turned up same day, and they threw in a free sofa. I will be doing all my future shopping on this amazing website.

Having read the reviews on this website I was quite nervous but went ahead and won a bid for a Samsung Tablet which is around £570 in Currys. I was aware of the VAT etc but still made a £250 saving. The item came packaged well with a fragile sticker and when I tested the tablet it was perfect no issues or damage other than the box being abit dirty. So very happy overall with my purchase. I wanted to do a review just to say that you must read the items description carefully and view if possible before bidding, I did not view this and tried my luck so very thankful it was as described. Thanks and good luck to anyone else who purchases from this company.

To everyone who moans about pictures and descriptions : the company offers viewing before each auction to inspect the cars yourself. Obviously the pictures can not reflect a detailed condition of a vehicle, if you are about to spend a couple of grand don't be lazy and go see the cars yourself instead of blaming some pictures. Also the staff is always there and helpful , won't cost a penny to give them a call for detailed description in case you are unable to attend the viewing. So far im happy with my purchases, i can only recommend them!

Wow made an incredible saving on a brand new MADE.com sofa. Even after renting a van to collect I saved well over 2k.

I purchased a AGA wood-burning stove from John Pye, was band new bankrupt stock. The price was 70% less than the high street. We picked up from Marchington which took about 30mins, the place is huge.

Hi All, There is a lot to take in here from the reviews about faulty goods, missing parts , failed deliveries etc. I personally have been buying for a year or so and have experienced minimal problems A) Missing quantities (I got a partial refund) B) Getting what I did not buy , so they made the order up with some other bits (okay not to bad). JP are correct to say "come and inspect first" obviously you cannot plug in a coffee machine and have one, so do not buy and stop F moaning maybe greed got the better of you ? When you buy a big ticket item you must take a gamble, if you are not a gambler DON'T BUY. From my experience as a trader it works for me , great deals very cheap but you have to use a bit of common sense and look through the blurb. Would I buy a TV , Washing Machine, etc with no guarantee NO, go to Curry's and bid them (nothing to lose) I see people buying on JP for more than it's in the shops , what a bunch of ???? they deserve to get stuffed. Anyway think twice about ALL auctions and I am very happy you lot are not buying again , more for us traders. Bye Bye and be lucky.

I've had several items from John Pye auctions recently and, apart from two lots*, all worked well. Recently I've had: two Waterpick tooth flosses, a Dyson Pure Cool Me, three lovely handbags. Two fab coats* and a sofa*, a pair of Samsung Bud+ wireless buds. Of the lots that went wrong: A coat was delivered that was not the lot I won. I contacted the auction house and they were very apologetic. They found the correct lot and we swapped the coats over. I was given the choice of a handful of lovely handbags as an apology for the inconvenience. The second lot to go wrong was an expensive mistake on my part. I bid on a sofa in South Wales where I understood they delivered... wrong... completely my mistake!! I had to organise the collection which cost a lot and when the sofa turned up at my home, the sofa was damaged. As I couldn't see the sofa it could have been damaged in transit back to Sheffield. Either way - a lesson well learned by myself. My colleague also has had several items including a gas pizza oven that he has used every weekend since. He had some items go missing via the courier and, after a couple of weeks, his money was refunded with no argument. If you shop carefully then I would recommend them highly.

I’ve been using them for around 5 years. Yes they do sell stuff that is broken, incomplete and just doesn’t work. I’ve had my fingers burnt a few times taking a gamble on an item that went straight in the bin. However, mostly I’ve bought items for personal use and re-sale at rock bottom prices which were great. I suppose you have to go through the process and experience until you instinctively know what’s going to be good and what to avoid like the plague. My only real concern is they use an auction sniper of some kind so if an item hasn’t reached some kind of hidden reserve they will bid it up in the last seconds so you don’t get it ultra cheap. Why not just be transparent and out a visible reserve on the things. Latest bulk item is Amazon fire tablets, which they are constantly bidding up last minute. That’s not an entirely fair and transparent auction, but otherwise, now my eyes are fully open, it’s a good service

I bought 4 rechargeable lamps and 2 Michelin tyre inflators, 1 lamp did not work at all and the cigarette lighter adapter for in car power was broken on 1 of the inflators. The following week I bought 6 pairs of mens shoes , all had been worn a lot and 2 had extensive wear including thick caked mud on the sole. I also bought 3 sets of headphones which all worked fine. I wouldn,t buy any type of shoe here again.

If there's no guarantee or picture of it working don't bother, it's most likely broken. It's possible to get a deal but as often as that happens you will get utter rubbish. Check it before hand or don't bother. If you take a punt, do so with the thought that it is probably useless. For TV and Monitor, some of the better JP auction houses show you a picture so you can see it's not working. If you don't get that and you can't test it honestly save your money. Also be aware that you should add 50% costs on to your bid and lots of people bid things up very near to or over the cost once you add that and you also won't have new purchase warrantee

bided on a shower unit which was described as worth £800 i won the lot and when the item was delivered it had no thermostatic shower valve with it, I emailed john pye who sent me a picture of the lot showing no valve but showing a closed box under the shower head which one would presume was the valve. cut a long story short they have refused to refund me as sold as seen ,so i ask why show a closed box if nothing inside then write a description saying worth £800 when clearly its not even worth £100 without the valve. John pye deliberately misleads you so be careful. Very very disappointed that they work this way

Selling lot of faulty electrical items not even is described about the issues. Also manipulate the customers about the quantity of the certain items (socket sets, for 175 pieces is described like 200 pieces) in the description also price is for 200 pieces and customers are biding for the wrong items thinking is the right one by the description.

Delivery robbery , stay alert! I wouldn't say this is a bad company as I have purchased so many items from them for over last two years. They always has been honest with description of the condition items I was looking for. You need to remember THIS IS NOT A SHOP and all of the item are likely to be an ex display, used or returns as damaged or unwanted, which my opinion is fair. If you unhappy from what you see simply don't bid, If you are not sure ask the question. However the latest changes to the terms of collections / delivery of purchased goods are nothing else but robbery. Please note that on the main page the clearly show a split of delivery cost due to weight of the item and winning bid price, in short you can presume that anything under 30kg and being larger then 50x50x50 cm is qualified as parcel. The white goods and bigger stuff, fair enough will end up on the pallet. But this is not what they do. I recently bought two small items (a NEFF decor strip x2) which is packed into box size of kitchen foil and large pan for the total of £92.00 What a surprise was waiting me on the invoice. A £79.20 ! for delivery of these 3 small items. YES I've been charged for a one full pallet delivery! Imagine that! Now obviously I get in touch with customer service and with their social media representative and has been told this is what it is. The charm of helpful staff quickly despaired and sour taste of trying to be ripped off stays with me. So be careful, not only for what you biding on but also on the price of the delivery it can really ruin your purchase.

Absolute rubbish... Bought a job lot for my son and his girlfriend who are moving into their own house soon.. The lot consisted of:- Shirt steamer - the steamer was broken and had the main parts missing. Towel rail - broken feet and missing bolt's. Washing basket's - one handle broken, the other shows wear and looks like it about to break like the first one. In conclusion £33 spent to get absolutely nothing of worth. Phoned John Pye auctions all they said was read the terms and conditions. Very bad customer service with no resolution they are using us as a waste disposal route. Buyer beware!
