The seed I have used for patches, despite pigeons has worked well.

Just to add, while warmth is generally good for germination, excessively warm or dry weather can actually slow down germination. Seeds need consistent moisture and moderate temperatures to germinate well. When it’s too hot and dry, the soil can dry out quickly, making it harder for seeds to establish. Sometimes a little cooler, damp weather helps the grass come through stronger and faster.
