“Loved our holiday at Shems! Lovely people amazing food good facilities great staff lovely location! After reading previous comments was a bit worried to go but in the end we went with no expectations and had the best time! I really couldn’t see what people were complaining about?! If you’re not willing to try foreign food why are you going abroad? The food was lovely fresh a good choice and special dishes most days! If you have fussy eaters then yes they will probably live off chips pizza and burgers! The staff are amazing and do anything that’s is needed! Take cash to change to be able to leave tips. They don’t expect it but do appreciate it! They get paid very little per month and a little goes a big way! If you go out on trips again take cash as sometimes you have to pay to use toilets tip guides etc, again never much but it’s good to know. Activities at the hotel were amazing, yes you could probably go outside of the hotel and get them cheaper but they’re not too expensive. We took large plastic cups for the bar and they will fill them for you! Highly recommend going out on a desert trip but very early starts but so worth it! Again take cash for tips and toilet use! Pool was lovely, looks green but every night I saw them clean it and add more chemicals! We never got poorly all week! You get a bottle of water per adult each day but you can get a couple if done morning and night! Our room was lovely, had a fridge air con and a few ants! We told reception and they sorted it! We also took with us some ant traps! There are two extra restaurants that you can book for a 1 time visit. Well worth doing. Just keep an open mind remember where you’ve booked to go and don’t expect a Hilton or everything British!!! I would recommend this place to people and would go back!”
