“CONS - The hotel was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. When you have to go out and buy your own cleaning supplies to clean your room on arrival is saying something. Customer service at the hotel was very poor, food options were limited and the spa/wellness facilities were no longer offered. Staff on the front desk said that they needed to update their website!! I would not expect this level of hotel on your website. PROS - App and website are easy to use and the booking process smooth. Information and updates - good. May use the site again but with extreme caution when choosing a hotel.”

“To say the hotel was a 3star In my opinion is saying something but this is my opinion, other people may see it differently. The food selection override the fortnight was basically the same. It's the first holiday I have been on and can say it's the first time I have been excited to get home.”

“Dated, poorly maintained and nowhere near five-star Sadly, this hotel is nowhere near a five-star standard. It may have been when it first opened, but it is now a dated four-star at best—possibly even a three-star-plus. The hotel is very compact, with little space to relax, and cleanliness is a major concern. Our room was poorly cleaned: rubbish wasn’t removed, the floor was occasionally washed, and the bed linen wasn’t changed even when we specifically requested it. The buffet offered a wide selection, but it was essentially the same food every day. The meat was generally poor quality and overcooked. More concerningly, poolside food was left sitting out for hours in temperatures approaching 40°C and then served cold. The drinks selection was also extremely limited, with virtually no variety. We didn’t expect every member of staff to speak English—that isn’t a problem—but many were unhelpful and had a very poor attitude. Smoking was another major issue. It appeared to be allowed in almost every area, including children’s zones, and even members of staff were smoking while working, including the lifeguards. Several advertised activities were either unavailable or simply didn’t take place. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and nowhere near the standard advertised. We broke with our usual tradition of holidaying in Greece or Spain to try Turkey, but unfortunately we won’t be returning to this hotel—and the experience has put us off returning to Turkey altogether.”

“Hotel is not in a great state. It smells damp, rooms are just ok. Aircon is poor. Food choice is limited and repetitive. Service is poor in the restaurant, not enough cutlery, chipped plates etc. Music by the pool is too loud - 2 sources so it’s just a huge noise. Nothing close to a 5 star. Go somewhere else.”

“The flight and transfer were fine but the accommodation was too far from the beach and lively area. Some staff at apartment were rude and abrupt. There was great watersports facilities about 20 mins away and they were very accommodating and friendly.”

“App etc all easy to use but Hotel Katus Playa disappointing and not 5*. The hotel is not in Costa Brava, as advertised, but bearer to Barcelona in tacky and rather dirty Calella. It’s separated from the beach by a railway line. The hotel charges additionally to use the gym and rooftop pool! The breakfast was fine but needed soft fresh fruit and unfermented yoghurt. The packed breakfast for the 4am departure was awful - why not include a croissant? Fruit pot? Fruit juice carton? Rather than a chicken paste sandwich!! The transfer to the hotel took 2hrs to depart and the wait was hot and frustrating. The downstairs pool was shaded by ugly adjacent high rise rundown apartments - no views. Misleading advertising throughout.”

“This hotel is not as what was described. The food was bland with flys in the restaurant. Rice every lunch and dinner. No baked beans or sunny side eggs. The food was literally a 2 out of 10. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. It's a shame as me and my husband really needed a calm and relaxing vacation. The spa team we're so pushy and kept trying to make us try their spa. The entertainment was once a week with a live band. The hotel room wasn't clean and we had to request them to clean it. They didn't clean the bathroom and the sink was blocked. There were also cats in the outdoor swimming pool area. These cats we're definitely strays though they seemed familiar with the hotel setting. It was so strange. Lastly, be prepared for your hair or extension to smell of food. It was smokey in there. I definitely will not recommend this hotel. Seriously. I don't complain and get on with things, but this was so disappointing that I need to warn others. Pls, don't book. Only book if its really cheap. We paid all inclusive for 4 nights, £1100, definitely not worth it.”

“Hotel was definitely not 5 star staff in the day were rude. Pool area never cleaned whilst we was there. Food was very poor boiled eggs all week for breakfast for me. Booked 3 rooms one was supposed to be a twin when arrived and complained was told they will supply an extra duvet instead of exchanging the room.”

“Very poor food choice. Dirty, worn out sunbeds and no where near enough of them. Our apartment was a very long way from the all inclusive area. There were no top ups of toilet roll, had to ask for some. Apartment old and tired, ineffective ceiling fans. Pools were lovely, kept clean. Bar area was too small, nowhere to sit and have a drink. There was a lot of drunken behaviour with police being called to attend most nights meaning we couldn't go to the all inclusive after evening meal. It felt unsafe.”
