Have been a regular customer at Majestic for a number of years. Usually pop into the shop and buy. I have been trying to contact my local branch in Warrington for the past 3 days to place an order to collect. Left a message and waiting for a call back! Very disappointed. Never had problems before.

Always USED to shop in their stores but find we have to check the invoice at the till as some 'reductions' that show on the price tags on the shelves, don't reach the tills. WE only noticed when the total, after a large shop, was a good few £s more than we had worked out. Recently, we had a long conversation with Majestic management and it seems some 'reductions' are sent to the stores 'manually' for the staff to print off the reduction price tag for the shelf and then to add the new price onto the tills BUT sometimes it seems staff forget to do that. We shopped in three different stores over over a period of 18 months, 'human error' meant we were overcharged at the tills FOUR TIMES! Apparently there's nothing that can be done about it because it is 'human error' so, in other words they can't guarantee that these 'manual' price reductions will reach the tills! SO CHECK BEST YOU MAKE A MENTAL NOTE OF THE TOTAL AND CHECK WHAT THEY SAY THE TOTAL IS AT THE TILL BEFORE YOU PAY!! It's a real shame because they have a great selection of wine but in this day and age of digital technology you would have thought that there wouldn't be any need for manual input of prices. What we don't know is how much we'd overpaid on the very many occasions we shopped at Majestic stores without checking the amount we were given at the tills!!

Do not trust them ti send wine that you can't check that the items have been delivered. Several bottles of wine missing (8) they didn't even know that it hadn't been delivered. If I hadn't of checked that the recipient counted the gift case no one would of known! Check check and check again! I just don't trust this company due to there lack of awareness.

I was sending a gift to a family member. I noticed within minutes of ordering I had one digit wrong on the address. I immediately telephoned Majestic to ask them to correct the address. The person I spoke to was unable to correct and said they would try to cancel my order but they could not guarantee. I asked them if there was anyway to assure that this order would not be delivered to the wrong house but I did not receive a positive answer. I wrote to Majestic to complain but received a reply basically to say this is how their system operates. In other words tough if you make an error. They did cancel the order but needless to say I didn't re order with Majestic as I don't feel I can trust them to be helpful.

Phoned Milton Keynes to place order - 'Sorry, very busy, please leave number, we'll ring back.' Oh no they didn't - seven calls (or was it eight?) well spread out. Two emails, not even acknowledged. No way of getting there myself (age, infirmity, 100 miles drive), so 'Sorry, family, you'll have to get your own drinks this year.'

Terrible customer service Ordered a Christmas case of wine on the 29th of November (ORDER NUMBER 37692722) which Majestic never sent to the courier. Phoned up three times and eventually a call handler said she would get it delivered from the nearest shop, but she’d have to substitute some of the wine as it was out of stock. She also said she’d get me a couple more bottles as compensation for all the hassle. A delivery driver from the local store turned up the next day, banged on the windows and left two very scruffy boxes on the doorstep with 12 bottles of wine in them and shouted “there you go mate” before zooming off again. Very poor service from Majestic wine. I didn’t feel like a valued customer and needless to say I won’t be using them again. AVOID!

This company was instructed to deliver wine to ourselves as a Christmas present. The company use YODEL as the couriers, who have zero feedback, so I woke this morning to see a box of broken wine bottles in my drive, thank goodness nobody was hurt I contacted the company and they don't want to know!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS - GO SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE

Appalling lack of service from young male assistant at Majestic Maidenhead. Having a major party in 2 weeks. As everyone should know, ice is essential, especially for over 100 people to be catered for. He said, first we have a problem with the ice suppliers and only have one driver on a Sunday. We can deliver on the Saturday. I said its ice. Well, he said, haven't you got anywhere to store it. I said 10 bags?? I said I don't like your attitude. He said, what do you mean attitude? I'm just telling you the truth. I left

After waiting for 6 days for my delivery, I was told that it would be with me within 1 to 7 days. I asked for it to be delivered within 24 hours or I would cancel the order (over £250). Really efficiently, they cancelled the order and I was then told I should have chosen a specified delivery date. So is it my fault that they cannot deliver within the dates they set? Last time with Majestic Wines for me.

I have spent hundreds of pounds on wine with majestic. My order today was only half the order paid for. No explanation no email. Absolutely impossible to get to speak to someone. Waited over 30 minutes and just on hold. Emailed no response. Rang the local provider no answer. Received an email saying the order was delivered. I’m furious

Had to tell them my order was short of 27% or 5 out of 18 bottles. No offer of replacement without additional payment on my part. Won’t bother again.

Terrible customer service. Ordered wine well before Christmas abs it didn’t turn up at all. Ring ( after being on hold for over an hour) before Christmas and they still said it would arrive in time. It didn’t. Utterly hopeless.

Treats it’s customers with contempt. Late delivery without explanation. 45 min wait to reach customer services. Promised delivery and call back. Neither have occurred. No response to email enquiry. Order placed in good time before Christmas - they cannot be surprised to be busy at this time of year. Very poor.

We have had problems with this company on the last 3 orders. On the first, they substituted with no notification or price adjustment a large number of red wine bottles with white wine bottles retailed at £10 less a bottle. When queried why the wrong wine had been sent, they said they had made a comparable substitute and if we didnt want the substitute (which hadn't been pointed out by them either at all or on delivery) that we had to drive the bottles back ourselves (one hour each way). When we checked their website to find out that the "comparable" wine was £10 cheaper per bottle (as well as being white not red) and they had not reimbursed us the difference (did they think we wouldn't notice?) and refusing to deliver the wine back, after further complaint, they rectified the matter. On the second order of 12 bottles ordered by a friend for me, mysteriously only 11 turned up although the box was sealed. No list of contents was in the box so I had no idea what had been ordered. It seemed an odd number to send as a gift and the donor confirmed he had ordered and paid for 12. The most expensive, an expensive Pomerol, had been omitted from the box, although he had paid for it and been told the entire order had been delivered. He would have been none the wiser, and nor would I as it was a gift, unless I had queried it as it seemed strange to send someone 11 not 12 bottles. Again, did majestic, knowing it was a gift, think as the recipient was sent it directly no one would realise? On the latest order, made about 7 weeks prior to Christmas (mid Nov) and promised delivery by 17th December, nothing was heard on the delivery date and no contact to say the confirmed delivery would not be made. After emailing when the delivery failed to arrive, I finally get a response that they wont be delivering until after Christmas even though they took my money months ago. I would avoid this company at all costs. Appalling.

They are taking orders for Christmas knowing they have no way possible of delivering them and no intention of telling you until you ring them and are prepared to be on hold for 40mins+. Their operative also told me their warehouse staff know nothing about wine, so rather than "send you an appropriate item to the same or higher value" as their website suggests, they simply short ship you. Ironically, while being told my delivery gift will never reach my parents in time for Christmas, they were still selling the same package on their website, so basically a fraudulent offer guaranteed to disappoint you. Shambolic and well worth avoiding!

They didn’t deliver half my order and didn’t even contact me about it. I had to chase with various emails and calls. After many emails they offered me a bottle of wine that I don’t even drink . They sent it to the wrong address. The worst part is no one on the phone even apologised for the massive inconvenience this has all caused. We spend £200 a month at majestic wine and have had too many issues so we will stop. A free bottle of wine for many issues is not great at all.

Terrible first-time experience with Majestic Wine. I ordered six bottles of wine, which arrived smashed so I refused to take them. The second time they arrived in a damaged, opened box. On top of this, even though my payment was shown as being 'paid', a month after placing my order I received an email demanding payment. I phoned Majestic Wine's customer service number and was greeted by a very condescending member of staff. I made a card payment over the phone as instructed, after being told the first payment had passed it's authorisation date. I will definitely be checking my bank statement very closely. I have never before came across such an usual payment system. I strongly recommend you avoid Majestic Wine at all costs!

I have been a customer for many years, but now never again. Problem seems to be that they use Yodel for delivery, who first lost part of the delivery, claimed they had delivered it, then returned it damaged. Nothing from Majestic apart from taking full payment on my credit card. I've had to chase Majestic, who do not seem to be able to sort it out. Now after third attempt to contact them, they advise they will put it on back order, but no guarantee we will see it this side of Christmas.

Today after 5 years of not shopping with majestic wine my friend and I popped into the Battersea store to buy 12 bottles for my friends new flat... Natalie the manager is extremely blunt and rude- really unfriendly and was also blunt to the customer next to us. I understand from working in the wine trade the strain managers at majestic have- but I was embarrassed to take my friend as in her words ‘she was vile’ were said as we left. If I behaved or any of my staff behaved like that to my customers there would be a problem. Luckily I helped my friend choose wine and buy so you should give me commission for doing your job for you.
