“My wife works for meowtel and she loves the clients she has and they love her. Meowtel as a whole though has huge strides to make, there is 0 vetting process for the customers, anybody can make a profile and put fake pictures and address and have these meowtel employees (usually women) go to these addresses and anything could happen. Also a client can book you with days notice regardless if u have another client booked for the same day, and if u cancel and apologize the same day they try to book in order to give them plenty enough time to book another cat sitter, meowtel gives an automatic 1 or 2 star review to your account basically calling you irresponsible which drops your ratings even with all 5 stars. The employees that work for this place are wonderful, the administration has a lot of work to do to take care of them.”

It’s important to note that we can only discuss the specifics of a sitter’s account with the actual sitter, so the email would need to come from her. In the meantime, we did want to address some of your general concerns: We care deeply about our sitter community and their safety, which is why customers need to book a reservation before scheduling a Meet & Greet with their chosen sitter. We encourage clients to fully complete their profile (including providing a profile photo). If a sitter ever feels uncomfortable before, during or after the Meet & Greet, we are here to help. We’re happy to run a background check, reach out to the client for more information, and/or cancel the reservation. Clients are subject to Meowtel’s terms of service just as sitters are, and any client who displays rude or inappropriate behavior towards sitters faces removal of their account from the platform. It’s important to note that Meowtel sitters are independent contractors, not employees — Though many of the employees who work at Meowtel HQ are sitters as well. As independent contractors Meowtel does not control or direct the amount of work a sitter wishes to take on, and most sitters prefer to do multiple drop in visits per day to increase their earnings. Also, sitters are free to decline a reservation request if they don’t feel they could complete the requested visits without receiving a systematic review. While we understand that it may be disheartening to receive a systematic review for cancelling on a client, we always recommend that sitters keep their calendars up to date and only accept the reservations they intend to complete in order to avoid this. Please rest assured that our team appreciates sitter feedback, and we’re always reviewing our policies to ensure they balance the interests of all parties. If your wife has any further concerns, we are always happy to speak with sitters via phone, text, or email.

“Candace took such good care of my kitty while I was away and made me feel at ease leaving my cat at home. I didn’t have to take her to a kennel and she could stay in her own space. Candace sent me videos, pictures, and texts letting me know exactly how she was doing. This gave me such comfort when I couldn’t be there. We kept in communication the entire time on the app, and she was always available to me in case I needed to tell her something. I am certainly glad Meowtel referred her to me! I couldn’t be more satisfied!! Thank you Meowtel!”

“We had a cat that suffered from separation anxiety when we went on vacations. Because of Meowtel and Susan, no longer. She is truly a " cat whisperer", and they love being with her. Wish we had found her sooner.”

“We had a great experience with Ruth who cared for our two cats while we were on vacation. Ruth was proactive in contacting us before the booking and very responsive to all our communications. She sent texts and photos on every visit and was caring with our pets. She stayed overnight and took in packages, dealt with trash and left everything in perfect state. A great, stree-free experience. We will definitely use service again.”

“The app and website both make finding, scheduling and communicating with a sitter very easy. The price was very reasonable and cancellations - both with a refund, and one time with a credit since the cancellation was late - were handled quickly and easily. Every sitter I interacted with was quick to respond and also considerate and helpful when they were not available. In addition, I enjoy the occasional email with tips for cat care. I highly recommend Meowtel!”

“I’ve been so impressed with Meowtel from the moment I started going to them for cat sitting. At face value, Meowtel provides a robust cat sitting service: offering multiple vetted sitters in any particular area with a transparent and easy-to-use system for booking. To me, what’s even more impressive is how they operate behind the scenes. For example, when I canceled a reservation because my cat didn’t get along with a particular sitter (by no fault of her own), Meowtel reached out to me to follow up on the experience and to see if I had any lingering concerns that needed to be addressed. They take their commitment to providing quality cat sitting incredibly seriously, which I appreciate. This spring, I had a cat sitter cancel about a month before our reservation because of a family emergency. I was at work (on night shift) when I got the notification and immediately dreaded needing to stay up the following day to find another sitter. Instead, Meowtel 1) proactively recognized the issue, 2) proactively reached out to me, 3) went above and beyond in finding other sitters who could accommodate the same reservation (and confirmed with them ahead of time), 4) gave me options, and 5) did all of this within a matter of hours after the issue arose (even though it was after hours!). Their timely and comprehensive response speaks volumes about the mission of Meowtel and the wonderful compassionate people who work there.”

“As an anxious cat-owner who only wants the best for their pet, I did a lot of research before leaving her behind for the first time. Meowtel had exceptional customer service, and the sitters were so patient and charming. Everyone I spoke to made sure that any concerns I had were addressed, and the experience I had with the sitter was nothing short of incredible. I absolutely recommend using their services.”

“I only found out about Meowtel (from the veterinarian) a few days prior to my vacation and was beyond thrilled to find a cat-sitter on short notice who perfectly fit my frail, 18 year-old cat's needs! If Stephanie (the sitter I chose) is any indication of how all cat-sitters are on this website, then Meowtel will continue to be successful. I really appreciate that Meowtel has everything set up on their website. This really is a wonderful service for cat owners!”

“Meowtel truly cares about caring for cats adequately, by having an impartial review system, and also by not allowing the platform to explode with too many cat sitters, knowing that it isn't easy out there to just trust anyone with caring for our cat at our home. A cat belongs at home and not at some pet hotel in a tiny space, our cat particularly has got emotional needs as well, and Meowtel takes into account all these particular needs. Their prices are reasonable and I like supporting such a business that strives to provide the best services for caring for cats, and only for cats!”
