For anyone considering purchasing the warranty — they will promise you everything, and their booklet claims to cover it all. But just wait until you actually need to make a claim. Suddenly, everything is considered “wear and tear,” and they won’t pay you a penny.”
“Polite at the phone, quite easy to contact but will not cover you for anything... One way or another they will always find a way to justify it is wear and tear, no matter what the problem is. Hard to argue against it, besides very niche scenario, every faulty part will certainly break because of a certain degree of wear. Will also not cover you for diagnostics when something goes wrong, even though their website suggest they do. These guys are geniuses at phrasing things to make you feel you are cover when you are not. Save yourself time and don't give them a single penny. Contract someone else if you actually want to be covered.”

I purchased a car just one week ago, complete with a fresh MOT and service history. After driving it for only 40 miles, the car suddenly started making a very strange noise. I submitted a claim through the app to have it assessed by a garage, but Momentum Warranty refused my claim, stating it must be due to a worn part.
Let me repeat: the car had a fresh MOT, and I drove it for only 40 miles. Yet they expect me to cover the cost myself to have it checked by a garage in order to “further assess” the issue.
I’m incredibly relieved I didn’t sign up for their extended warranty because clearly, you can’t rely on their service for anything. It feels like someone is just sitting behind a computer, deciding whether or not your issue is covered, without any real investigation.
Even worse, they claimed it’s not a “sudden issue” despite the fact that the noise appeared out of nowhere which is both illogical and frankly, insulting. When I asked to speak with a manager, they refused.
I will be escalating this case to Consumer Rights. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing, and I feel it's important to warn others before they make the same mistake with this company.”

“Avoid this company, I recently purchased a van and my clutch give way due to the plate breaking which should be covered by my warranty. This company has fobbed me off and said it was due to “wear and tear” on the fly wheel which is completely incorrect. I have since raised a complaint and was told I would hear back within 5 working days, it has been over 5 working days and I haven’t heard a thing. Please avoid this company at all costs. Waste of money and time. I am now £1000 out of pocket.”
“I've just changed my car in February. In the transaction with the garage I was offered 6 months breakdown/recovery with Momentum. I have no previous knowledge of the company and as it's a very short period of time since my car change I can't comment on the service. I would say for those who commute long distances motorway travel etc. to and from work, having a backup breakdown service would be wise. Momentum's committment to providing this service seems reasonable and economic.
People who have had reason to avail of the service would be more able to comment on their experience!”
“I have recently purchased a car which came with a plan cover level 2. As I haven't had to use the service I can't rate how good the back up is. Momentum have emailed me and 'phoned me, so at least they appear to keep contact with customers. I hope I don't have to call them out as no-one wants to have car problems but having the knowledge I can call them is certainly a bit of reassurance. I have had to update the information on my plan as the registration on the purchased vehicle has been replaced with my personalised plate. L1 GAT This has been updated on my plan.”

“You are better off not buying a warranty from Momentum Warranties as the claims procedure make things difficult and do not explain them properly to you, no reimbursement has been provided, despite them being kept fully updated regarding the situation and all progress. The service has been unacceptable which is why the matter will be taken up with a higher authorities. Extremely disappointed and it’s not fair or reasonable trading.”
