“My husband and I have been cooking my food bag for approximately 1 year now with the odd week off for holidays etc. We have really enjoyed most of our light 10 meals and have lost 50kg between us. I love not having to think about what to cook each night and we have enjoyed trying new flavours.”

“I have been receiving the Food Bag for a year now. The food is always fresh, the recipes are easy to follow and very tasty. It has been great for us as my husband has diabetes and the food and quantities have helped us to keep the diabetes well under control. He is also very excited to check out what he will be eating each week. I have recommended it to others and they love it too.”

“The recipes have gotten better, more tastier as time as gone on. My main ‘bug bear’ is the use of chicken breast instead of thigh, it’s so easy to over cook and become unenjoyable to eat!”

We are busy, working people and we do love good food so this has been a wonderful opportunity for us to try new (and simple) recipes without having to think what we are having each night. “We buy Fresh Start 20 every week and it has been a lifesaver. My husband and I are both very busy with work, three children and Scout activities. However, we want to cook and eat healthy lunches and dinners and Fresh Start 20 works very well for this. We cook, have dinner - offer it to the children but have back up options in case they are fussy (tuna spaghetti, rice, toasted sandwiches etc), then have the leftovers for our lunch at work. Surprisingly, the kids (aged 3, 8 and 13) do try quite a few of the meals - even though the meals are vege and healthy foods heavy, and low carb (which we love!). This means that my children a trying a much greater variety of foods than we had before with our standard 'family friendly' meals. Although the cost seemed high at first, I did a comparison with Countdown's online shopping for the same ingredients and it wasn't much less to buy them ourselves. Personally, I HATE supermarket shopping, so having all the thought around meals planning and shopping taken care of is worth several hours of my time that I can now spend on other things. Plus, I think we save a bit by not buying all the unplanned for items (chocolate biscuits etc!) that seem to sneak in to the supermarket trolley. Finally, I find Fresh Start meals time guide to be very accurate - most meals take about 30 minutes (less when I have my 13-year-old help me - and he is learning to cook through the process) - which is less than it would take to order an pick up takeaways. Some changes I would like is at least one vegetarian meal per week and even more work on reducing plastic containers - but overall I am very happy with this service and would recommend it to anyone with a similar number of people in their family.”

“After being somewhat skeptical I decided to give My Food Bag a go, and registered for the Fresh Start programme. I have had no regrets. The food is tasty and there is heaps of variety. I am also satisfied with portion sizes etc. I opened my mind to a much wide range of fruits and vegetables than I have ever tried before and loved it. Even changed my husband's thinking on some things. I feel great and am told I am looking great (who wouldn't love that) and I have lost 12 kg in the process, without really trying. Not having to think about what we are going to eat on a daily basis is awesome. And we havnt had a takeaway, nor missed them, in the 8 or so months we have been doing this. I am a convert!”
