“The quality is awful. I complained and they responded once asking me to jump through hoops. I did what the asked and they decided to ignore me ongoing. Avoid their rubbish quality plates and rubbish customer service.”

“I ordered a basic number plate from the myshowplates website. When the plate arrived, I did not realise it was not road legal until I was told by a family member prior to fitting. When ordering I clicked on “Standard Plate” thinking this would be the normal road legal format. Once I was informed my plate was not legal I then checked the FAQ's at the bottom of their website, within here there is a question that states “How do I make my number plates legal” and it confirmed in there for the plate to be legal it has to be marked with a British Standard number - this is 'BS AU 145e, to do this you need to select British standard (Show) from a drop down list to show this, but this was not the default setting. You are also required to space the characters correctly but you must enter a space after the 4th character. This should be done automatically in my opinion or flash up saying it is not legal, not for customers to have to sift through FAQs to make it compliant! To top all of this the plates arrived with scratches on them and despite sending photos in they will not refund. I would not recommend or use this company again!”

“Just to clarify, this is my 2nd order from this website. 1st one (last year) was good, no issues. However, with the current order, I feel the product was defective, as the top layer / transparent plastic started coming off. I thought it's a protective layer, but no, it was actually part of the number plate. After speaking with custom service, they blamed it on the way I drilled, I should've drilled from the front, NOT from the back - which is fair enough .. However: 1) I never drilled the other plate from the front, and it was fine. 2) I changed a few other number plates in my life, and I've always drilled them from the back and it was also fine. and finally 3) the dealer from where I got the new bike, also drilled from the back as you can see all the markings. So this is a STANDARD, if your product requires drilling in any other way, please provide instructions. No instructions were provided. And customer service refused to replace the product, unless I pay more, which I'm not happy to pay for a defective product, or for their fault for not providing instructions. I don't read minds. if the product should've been fitted any other way, then provide instructions.”

“Poor quality plates, look at the name, 'showplates', not fit for road use shoddy flimsy plastic, had 2 sets blister in sun, replaced first set, refused to do same for second set, said my fault as used screw fixing kit (marketed as essential on their site) they sold me!!! even though blistering all over plate but not anywhere near fixing holes, shocking customer service, its not a phrase they are familier with!!”

“We've used them LOADS over the years as we have a fleet of about 25 vehicles which often have fleet reg plates on Always been decent in the past, but the last 2 orders we've had haven't ever been delivered - and we've been waiting since April 2022 for them to organise any sort of refund but just keep getting the cold shoulder. They even gave us a fake post tracking number which the post office refused to deal with as it wasn't a genuine number, and there's been no follow up from the admin team who we have chased on a number of occasions. It's not a huge amount of money but its still around £50 for 2 sets of plates. It's not the fact that the problem happened, its the fact that they've washed their hands of trying to solve it! 9 months later, still no plate and no refund, £50 down - from a once loyal & regular but now disappointed customer!”

“No contact even when emailed 4 days after order. No phone number to call. Paid for special delivery but that service not used. Despite all the wild claims of “great service” on the website this hadn’t been the case. Suspect after “18 years in the industry” they have forgotten what an “excellent customer experience” is suppose to be. Avoid this seller / company and order elsewhere if you want your “showplates” at some point before you sell the car! Rubbish service.”

“Horrendous AVOID AVOID AVOID Customer service is shocking. Don’t bother getting into a conversation with Luke, absolute waste of space. Ordered plate and fastening kit (£2). They didn’t send the fastening kit. After so many emails, they literally would just say, without a photo of the production note, we can’t send. They refused to budge. I spent £30 on the plate and they didn’t send the £2 screw. Awful service- go to another plate provider. These cowboys aren’t worth your time nor money.”

“Be careful if you plan to use these as legal plates on the road, the ones I receives were incorrectly spaced as needed. The online builder portal incorrectly shows what you order and the production manager at the company doesn't care... suffice to say, I won't use again!”

“I ordered front and rear plates in November 2020....its 15 January 2021 and I am atill waiting for them. I called customer services to ask when they would be delivered in December 2020 to be told they would check and call me back....did I get a call back.....NO! I tried calling again this week......only to get a pre recorded message that would not allow me to speak to customer services. Just poor service all round...and over £30 down...and no plates!”

“BEWARE once you have entered your details and paid, then they ask for a load of documents. If you then try to cancel they rip you off for a £5.00 per plate cancellation fee. Illegal but not woth the hassle fighting. Number plates are also poor quality.”

“Waste of time, waste of money! Ordered a rear number plate and fitted it to my car, but car failed the MOT because the number plate was not road legal. This is in spite of a message on their website popping up saying their plates are road legal, or words to that effect. When I complained, the surprising response from their Production Manager (Garry) was that if I wanted a road legal plate I needed to say so at the time of ordering by ticking the box marked 'BS'. So what is BS? Nothing on their website explains BS, nor was there any reference to say BS needed to be selected. Apparently, BS stands for British Standards, and if you didn't know that and left the box unticked then you would receive a plate that doesn't comply, as in my case. So I wasted £20, and feel so disgusted with the company.”

“ADVERTISES SAME DAY DISPATCH DOES NOT HAPPEN STATE AND CHARGE £5 DELIVERY FOR 3-6 DAYS RIDICULOUS WHEN ROYAL MAIL OFFER £3.99 FOR 3 DAY DELIVERY FROM JERSEY AND ROYAL MAIL RUNNING AT NORMAL AFTER PANDEMIC THIS COMPANY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND SUIT THEMSELVES WHEN THEY DISPATCH AND SEND YOUR PLATES ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND AND NEVER USE AGAIN STAY AWAY”

“Plates arrived with a fault on the rear with some sort of watermark under the perspex. Despite repeated emails no response to a request for a replacement rear plate. Looks like I'll have to try credit card dispute to get a refund. Try somewhere else.”

“Ordered my tow plate and did all to the British legal standard way, on a rival it did not have a gap between the middle sent them an email and was told will in form there production unit from admin and was just flogged off saying that is how they come when printed from the computer system ??? what a bunch of cowboys stay well clear of this shady company.”

“Do not use.... after I released that the plates I have ordered where illegal I emailed them straight away to alter or refund but was meet with a very unhelpful email back and they didn’t want to know. Now going through a credit card dispute with this company. Would not recommend or use again.”

“After at least a ten previous purchases and having recommended them on multiple occasions they have refused to accept any responsibility for an error in their system. They also refuse to accept that their system is anything other than flawless which it clearly is not. All they have offered me is free postage for a second order. This is a very poor way to treat a previously loyal customer. Even sent them a screen shot of my order showing honeycomb background and photos of what i received which were standard plates, now not even answering emails. AVOID there are plenty of other company's offering plates at a fraction of the cost of these COWBOYS !”

“Placed my order 29th august and after 2 weeks my plates where still in the queue to be made so I requested a refund.12 days after requesting a refund I still havnt recieved it after making 3 phone calls and just get told il chase it up.they have now had £75 of my money for nearly 4 weeks and I went elsewhere and had my plates done cheaper and delivered the next day.if I ever get my refund either way I will NEVER use this company again,blaming busy period and then payment provider is slow with refunds.easy solution take on more staff or when people order tell itl be a month before your plates are made and secondly change your payment provider.”
