“Bar soap really lathers - more than regular soap and feels silky. Supwe awesome. Deoderant is one of the better ones i've tried where you aren't wet and sticky from it as soon as you work out. You will have to reapply in a day if you work out. It's not a scam. If people actually read just choose the 'no subscription'! I just purchased it as a one off each time.”

“Absolutely loved my experience with Pela as a whole company! I can’t stop raving about my experience to others as I have never experienced customer service like this before in my life! I ordered a phone case and some other products from Pela and then a kit from Habitat (+ 2 extra kits because I got excited)! They keep in contact through emails, videos and immediately you realize the passion these employees have. They are vocal with their goal of preventing plastic from ever being made and it feels good to know you contributed! Highly recommend!”

“Not sure why everyone is saying it is a scam! It is clear it is a subscription! I bought the $9 sampler to test the products and cancelled the subscriptions as I like to buy things whenever I need it! Haven't tried the products yet! Hope is up to my expectations!”

“I bought the Pela phone case and got the $9 trial. I read the fine print and delayed my subscription to be sure I like the product before continuing. The phone case is great so far (2 months in). I’ve dropped my phone on cement and tile flooring and the case hasn’t chipped at all. The products: this is the first natural deodorant that actually does what it says. I’ve tried many and I either sweat through the deodorant or smell through the antiperspirant where I feel self conscious. Also the other products have either blocked my pores or caused ingrown hairs leaving me with uncomfortable red marks. Habitats is great, no painful spots. I will say the texture is a little scratchy and it off putting but maybe it helps in removing any dead skin buildup (sounds gross but it seems effective). The downside about the deodorant packaging is you have to have long fingers to push the deodorant up through the skinny tube. I couldn’t manage it halfway through its use and have had to use a sharpie to help me out. The base of the packaging has pushed through and while the deodorant is very solid and not coming through the bottom, it’s pretty frustrating. If they can reconfigure the packaging I would have nothing to complain about. I love the lather in their soap and shampoo, minimal scrubbing to get a really rich lather. I’m not yet sold on the conditioner because it takes a little more elbow grease however my hair feels very clean and free of any hair product residue. I’m giving 5 stars with an asterisk for the deodorant packaging.”

“I am honestly so happy with my habitat/Pela Products! I got the $9 promotion and then cancelled the account right after ordering and still received my items within 2 weeks! I don’t understand why everyone is hating on this company. They stated pretty clearly that your first order would be $9, and you would be automatically enrolled in a monthly subscription that you could delay or cancel at any time! The products are fantastic and the deal was amazing. If you think this company is a scam then that’s just on you for not reading though the details of the order.”

“I received my first package ($9 promotion). Products look just as pictured. The lip balm is super cute and feels great on my lips. I understood the deal perfectly. You sign up and get a promotion for first package, following packages will be actual price. I dont think they tried to scam you at all. It was very clearly stated. I also received email reminding me to create account to manage subscription. I have already successfully canceled the subscription since I want to wait and try these products out before signing up for more. If you complained they scammed you into something, you clearly didn’t read any descriptions or instructions. I would say go ahead and give them a try. I love that they are completely waste free. Also i placed order 12/23, received 1/4. Which is pretty impressive considering they shipped from Canada to LA over the holidays.”

“I purchased the bundle special offer for $8, and all of the products are great. I especially like the bar conditioner, lip balm, and deodorant. The bar shampoo contains sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, which makes sense because it foams up way more than other naturally-derived bar shampoo. It is similar to a Lush bar. The bars on the site now have different ingredients listed with no SLSA, so maybe the formula has changed. Regardless, SLSA is still less harsh than SLS, and this might be a pro if you have hard water or struggle with waxiness with other shampoo bars.”

“The cheap $1 or $8 bundle clearly says you're signing up for a subscription, which you then have to cancel if you don't want. Make sure you read the fine print. Everything is amazing that I've gotten. The deodorant works better than any natural one I've used before, but still needs to be reapplied in humid summer months. Love the shampoo and conditioner!”

“The bundles are amazing! The conditioner bar is a little hard to work into a lather but my hair feels so soft and healthy and my dandruff disappeared; the trade-offs are totally worth it! The tea tree body wash bar is my all-time favorite. I wish it lasted a little longer, though - all the other products will last much longer than a month but the tea tree bar only lasts a couple weeks. I am so happy with the deodorant! Every day I am in shock that it works better than any name brand deodorant I've tried. I love everything in these bundles and I can't wait to try more!”

“I tried the $1 sample shampoo and conditioner and am really grateful I could try bar versions for such a low cost since they usually are pretty expensive. The shampoo worked well for being my first bar version, without much of a transition period. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of the conditioner but just love that both are in bar form and plastic-free.”

“Great products. Fully waste free packaging. Ordered with my Pela Case code and got the bundle. So far I've had the chance to try out the lip balm, deodorant, and conditioner bar and all three have been great. I definitely would not need a monthly delivery but would certainly order again when needed. For all the people saying its a scam and that they got charged again and had no way of unsubscribing without an account....do your research before jumping on these types of promotions. There were several pop ups when placing my order that this was a subscription service and that I could cancel or defer a month at any time. They also have FAQs on the website outlining how to do that. Shipping came quickly, products were great, cancelled by subscription for right now very easily but am looking forward to placing another order in the future.”

“I got the shampoo bar and conditioner bar and I love them both. I got the shampoo bar for oily hair and I was worried that it would dry my hair out but it left it smooth and clean feeling. The conditioner bar is a little difficult to use but it leaves my hair feeling great. I will be repurchasing.”

“They literally think of everything. I was worried that now with covid-19 I was gonna have everything delivered with a lot of packaging and plastic. But no, everything came in a simple paper bag and it had reused paper as padding. I was seriously amazed! Products look and smell amazing, can't wait to use them.”

“Recently ordered the deodorant in coconut vanilla using the discount given by Pela. The deodorant tube has a packaging method like that of a push pop and I think its absolutely ingenious. The feeling is nice, not bulky or sticky and the fragrance isn't overpowering. Doesn't really smell like coconut and vanilla, more like licorice but I am totally cool with that. I have sensitive skin so if it ends up being too much on my pits I'll update my review. Also, it shipped in biodegradable packaging which is a hit.”

“CAN I JUST SAY HOW HAPPY I AM I FOUND HABITAT BOTANICALS!! Okay, now that I have your attention... I received an email promo from Pela Case about this company and I was a little hesitant because they were offering such an amazing deal! I mean, a 100% natural and compostable product for ONLY 1 DOLLAR? WOW! So I just decided to trust Pela because they have such amazing products, and why not right?! Cut to me receiving a bundle of their products for only $8 USD SUPER QUICKLY MIGHT I ADD and I AM AMAZED! I have been using all natural deodorants for a DECADE and I still haven't found one that works 100% all the time. TMI right here: I sweat A LOT and it's not pleasant smelling to say the least haha. BUT.. BUT! Now that I have Habitat Botanicals Coconut Vanilla Deodorant I SMELL DIVINE!!! Previously to this brilliance I would literally sweat IN MY SLEEP??? And now I wake up smelling like a normal human with slightly coconuty/vanilla-y skin... like I'm some kind of goddess! Hells yeah I am ;) Thank you so much Habitat Botanicals for making such an amazing product that I can stand by FOREVER because I can compost the packaging when I'm finished! I've also signed up for the membership, so I can share with my family! Just totally amazed and in love. End of essay ;)”

“I was a first time orderer from Habitat Botanicals and I got their full bundle for $8 after purchasing a phone case from Pela. The packaging was completely compostable, and everything was what I had expected. The conditioner bar did not come with my package but within 15 minutes of emailing them they had already resolved the order! Their shipping was fast even during the pandemic. I love how the lipstick and deodorant feel on my skin, and they smell so good! I would definitely recommend those two, and I can't wait to try the conditioner.”

“Let me just say, I love pela in general and I am obsessed with the habitat botanicals chap stick. It is soooo soft and luxurioussss. To all the haters below, yes wait time was long but cut them some slack jeez. They had just been acquired by pela. Also, yes the deal of adding the subscription is slightly shady but it is super easy to cancel so I wasn't that fussed about it. Highly highly recommend the chap stick - so great.”

“Bought a product from their sister company Pela and loved it so tried a coupon for $1 sample from Habitat and ended up ordering 3 bottles of sanitizer as well. Love it, great products, thoughtful eco friendly packaging, excited to try out their deodorant next! I just read previous reviews and I did not have any troubles. We need to be understanding of challenges during COVID and I think past disgruntled comments were not considerate of the unique and challenging circumstances the whole world is facing right now. Give this company a chance, they stand for something good and they’re products so far have been great!”
