The service provided by NewDay credit card is worse than appalling! For a start they shut shop at 8pm and if you try to make a transaction after this time to a supplier you haven't used before it's more than likely you'll get your card locked. Nevertheless you get a message from NewDay to communicate with them and confirm it is a genuine transaction. No good though because they've all gone home and you have to wait till the following day to get it unlocked. If you happen to be abroad and desperate to pay for something in Tanzania or Bhutan (for example) what do you do when your card gets locked? And this is the service delivered by this clueless company on behalf of John Lewis! Today I discovered that there is no group or team of people in John Lewis who monitor the performance of NewDay and that's why the customers of John Lewis receive such an appalling service! John Lewis need to have a review button on their website to enable customers to post their reviews directly to them!

Complete Scam The more you make the more they take in fees to the point that you can’t take your money out. They wanted $43,000 to take $350,000 out of my account. If you can’t come up with the money they block you and you never see your money. They also don’t have a withdrawal button, meaning you are completely left vulnerable. Later, I realized that this was a fraudulent project where I would have lost my funds, so a good friend of mine directed me to Mrs. Morris Meihua, who helped me recover all the money which I had invested on this broker including my profit... Happiness and Joy can't express exactly how i feel now after recovering all what i lost to this investment scammers who took everything from my retirement savings, I was even so scared to tell my children about it for almost five months, not until i met my highschool mate at the bus station near the metro downtown and discussions led me to mention my problem and she gave me solution to it. I am disappointed that John Lewis have moved to Newday now I realize my disabled daughter, is struggling with 49% apt to it's sister card FLUID. This is £200 a month out of her disability benefits on a £5000 debt built up due to poor mental health as a consequence of being bed bound so much with ME/CFS. This should be illegal, but I will now close my Partnership card which I pay off in full each month as I don't want to be their customer.

Not even 1 star, suicidal due to issue thats gone on, they know about my mental health issues and just didnt care at all, no help, no support just fobbing me off to other departments

I lost my money to this company, I was deceived by their hoax website. Thankfully I came across C O V S E C L T D.C O M .I got my lost funds back through Madacovi. co reliable service without an upfront fee. They are legal recovery consultants that can help you withdraw your frozen assets

I wouldn’t use newday again. They kept putting interest on even when I paid it all off. They are real loan sharks. Avoid if you can. Cheaper to pay on a credit card. I just paid off my balance, and they have charged me £14.22 interest. Disgusting.

I had a terrible experience years ago, they took over a credit card I had and piled on the interest to the point where I paid it off in full and threw the card away as it was a unacceptable high cost. Now Argos dho I have used for 8 years have unfortunately sold off the Argos card to Newday. I'm relieved my Argos account is clear and will not, no doubt, be using in the future. Sorry Argos, I'm out.

Dreadful company! I got rid of my John Lewis account as soon as I heard they were taking it over a few years ago. They are scammers who use delaying tactics to charge customers late fees. Surprising that a company with a good reputation like John Lewis would work with them. Beware!

Shameful. Paid my balance in full£2880. Because it was after 4 P M they blocked my card and registered it as a late payment even though I received an email telling me that my balance had been cleared and the funds were available for use. Called customer service, joke of a name, and was told that my account cannot be unfrozen until after midnight. Total rubbish services. They had my money and blocked my card despite pleas that I had and important appointment in London and needed it to get there etc…. Apparently ALL the managers were in a meeting. Liars.

Awful company. Set up DDM to pay for an ao.com item over six months interest free - I NewDay didn’t take the money, so now am paying interest. Impenetrable website, getting hold of a statement is a nightmare, just terrible. As soon as this item is paid for, I shall avoid like the plague. So.com should rethink their partnership with NewDay.

I asked for the paper statements to be continued. The latest, dated 19 September, arrived on 10 October when the due payment date was 4 October. Some do not arrive at all. Think this is just a ploy to force everyone to pay on line or collect late payment fees. Complete disregard of those who are not computer literate, don't have smart phones or decent connection. No problems when it was with John Lewis.

When HSBC provided the support for the JL Mastercard it was firstclass particularly regarding immediate intervention regarding frauduland transactions. Newday are appalling, intervention they dont know what it means to protect card owners.

Just another example of deterioration in the service quality branded under John Lewis. Ever since NewDay took over the old JL card, the admittedly few occasions we have had to contact them have led to poor customer experience and a total lack of human service. Their processes such as for fraud prevention are lamentable. They blocked a small regular monthly payment to our mobile phone service provider as it was a suspected fraud, even though the same amount had been paid each month under all the same process many times before. We had to launch a complaint to be heard properly, but all this resulted in was a standard 'we didn't make any errors' complaints decision. Their processes are too automated and designed by people who really don't seem to be very experienced as customers at all. And there seems to be very poor understanding of what the JL brand has meant in the UK psyche for so many years. We would say NewDay is possibly going to be viewed as the final nail in JL's coffin over the next few years.

John Lewis Partnership Card was extremely useful till taken over by NewDay. Now it takes 5 days every month for the direct debit from my bank to show on the account, so if I’ve used my limit I can’t use the card again till 5 days into the next month! Also it is impossible to make a bank transfer as an extra payment into the credit card account as my bank doesn’t recognise the New Day details provided for this.

This company is ripping off consumers who are not totally savvy with financial matters. I sent a bank transfer (through the faster payment system which all the big bank use these days) as I always have done previously on the day my full credit card balance was due at about 3.30 in the afternoon but got a txt from new day the next morning saying my account was overdue and that I’d been charged £140 ?odd in interest (my full balance was just over £2k) a £12 late fee and that the info would be passed to the credit ref agencies !! I was livid, I went on to my bank that showed the payment on 26 July,( the payment due date) but when I checked on the new day app the transaction showed on 27 July…. when clicking on it, it was timed 12.06 am so in theory even in their ripoff world it would only have been 6 MINUTES late !!! So, as ex financial services staff I queried this with them and they quickly refunded the interest and the late fee, they also SAID that there was no adverse information passed to the credit ref agencies, so ok for me you may say ! BUT HOW MANY OTHERt PEOPLE DO THEY DO THIS TO/DOES THIS HAPPEN TO WHO WONT QUERY IT !!!!! They’re making ££££££££ out of people who maybe aren’t as financially knowledgable or switched on as me, and that makes me really bloomin angry 😡

I ordered a delivery from a major supermarket to a rented holiday home. I confirmed the purchase with my JL app at the time of ordering and all subsequent amendments. At 2am on my departure day the transaction was declined so the order was cancelled. I managed to reuse the shopping list and go collect the order involving an extra 40 miles to an already long drive. All JL cards could tell me was the fraud system says so...and that's it. It's for my protection. So why bother with the confirmations in the app? A customer service shambles.
