Absolutely terrible and useless company! Company is a big word to name them so Id go for a tent located middle of nowhere. Spoke with a woman called Sandra from Fraud team which I wanted to find out about the payment it did not go through and after taking me through security questions she went on a robot mode and keep saying we will send a letter, I asked why she said it’s explained in the letter. I said when I will receive it. She goes its in the letter, I said what is in the letter she replied all is in the letter Absolutely ridiculous, I do not recommend this unprofessional, unreliable new day, Marbles credit card at all. Waste and f time Make this text absolutely negative, add awful experience and words

Awful company, seems they employ personnel with no experience and no training. Better use any other company. John Lewis was far better without Newday. Another Bad decision By John Lewis - no wonder the CEO was fired.

Terrible customer service spoke to lee a contact service manager who would not arrange charge back of money he took from me for a machine that was in someone elses name. He would not arrange for uplift of the machine as I was not willing to pay for a item that was not in my name. Was told as the account not in my name even though money has been taken out my account I have no right for a customer complaint process. Very unhelpful very arrogant and very antagonistic.

I had £5 to pay at the end of the month and never got their notification so they charged me £12. Outrageous and absurd charges. AVOID!

Fraud on my card but they did not send text immediately. Then cancelled all supplementary cards without advising. Then sent an urgent email to my JLP credit card app which they had blocked due to the fraud. Called but nobody was able to advise what urgent email was about. Told it would take up to 28 days to investigate my complaint but not told when supplememntary cards would be active again. Then sent me an email that my statement was available on the app and that I should check all charges. However as they had blocked the app this was not possible. Of course no telephone number for complaints dept. I assume that they would be overwhelmed. Absolutely appalling service and total incompetence.Advised John Lewis as this really reflects on their customer service but they are totally disinterested.

I attempted to recover the cost I paid for a service that was not done properly. Despite supplying all the necessary evidence, my claim was declined by the credit card company.

Sick of telling these that they have locked my account. Only have to put the email address in and say too many attempts. Nearly 12 months of E mailing to ask them to sort it. Total ignorance from them. Not even a reply. Stopped payments all I get is an w mail asking for payment. Well no. I'm going to treat you like you have treated me. Total ignorance from me now.

I have a few NewDay accounts and the interest rates are atrocious.i increased my credit card by 100 pound spend and the interest went up 10 pound more im going to report you

They are never helpful on phones and always ask to "call back tomorrow on same number"if they can not help then whats the point to call them back. Its been more then month I have asked for help but they are still asking we can not help and call back tomorrow.

Like many previous reviewers our experience with NewDay as JLP card operator has been dreadful. Having held a store card for over 50 years, subsequently the JLP HSBC card and now the JLP NewDay version, we have always settled my wife's card account in full by the due date. Last Saturday we went to John Lewis to purchase an appliance but the charge to the JLP account was declined. Having checked the account it was clear there was ample balance we requested the salesperson to try again - declined again. We went for coffee to call the number on the card, well NewDay certainly know how to erect barricades to customer contact - all robotic with no apparent way to speak to a human being. Some 20 minutes after the payment was declined my wife received a text asking to confirm she was making such transaction. Other banks have much more swift mechanisms to check. Eventually, the transaction was tried again but in order to do so the salesperson had to restart the purchase process again. This third attempt went through. Various attempt to increase the credit limit online had been refused. So, in a call the following day to complain about the previous days events, we asked about increasing the credit limit (outlining in general terms net worth). We were advise to call on Monday when the "Appeals Team" would be available. Well Monday's performance, Frans Kafka would be proud: "You can't speak to Appeals because you are not eligible to appeal". Oh, why aren't we eligible to appeal. "I am not allowed to tell you why you are not eligible to appeal". All one can conclude is that NewDay are a bunch of fly-by-nights that Dame Sharon White should never have placed the JLP brand in their hands; having said that she has not made many good decisions in post.

I have an Argos classic credit card with new day and we changed our family surname. It’s basically my husbands original surname and a promise to his now passed dad he would do. So nothing dodgy as all my creditors have been updated. Sent the certified change of name deed to them and they have now issued me with an additional card in my new name and not replaced the actual main account card. So there are two cards on the account and only the additional card has arrived. So can’t use either. Why would I want an additional card holder as the same person? Isn’t it some form of breech of data to issue an additional card without the customer requesting it also? Makes no sense and not something I requested. I also can’t use the additional card unless the main one is activated. Still says the main card is on its way but I get a weird feeling it’s not going to turn up at all. Hopefully I could be wrong. Thing is I cannot even ring and speak to customer services and pass security without the main card and knowing what the full card number is. Can’t be doing with the company.

I have had a J. Lewis credit card for 18 years plus without incident ,appalled by Newdays response to genuine complaint . The reply was evasive and without any explanation. I think this company is a bad choice for J Lewis to be associated with.

They will use every trick in the book to entice you in, collect your deposits for themselves, and then vanish with the last penny. When I eventually found S_I_M_O_N_C_H.C_O_M, my attempt to get my money back was successful. After working on my issue for a few weeks, he resolved it quickly and professionally and gave me my full refund.

I made my monthly payment to New Day by faster payments on the day before it was due. I paid off the whole amount and paid it from my Lloyds account, as on this occasion. I then received a late fee plus interest of their erroneous view of the amount outstanding ,as my "payment was not made". I trust my bank (Lloyds) but not New Day. I therefore called Lloyds who answered immediately and couldn't have been more helpful in contrast to New Day. They confirmed that the payment had been made by me from my Lloyds account to New Day's account, but that their computer (ie New Day's) had returned it to Lloyds. Lloyds view was a probably computer malfunction. I am at my wits end with this New Day company. They issue late charges like confetti, even when there is proof that the payment was made on the due date and now even when the payment has been made but their computer hasn't recognised it and sent it back and still charged a late fee! As for New Day saying (on this review site "sorry, what went wrong?", just look at the reviews on this site New Day and you tell me what went right!

Terrible company! Awful customer service and nearly impossible to get through to speak to somebody. If you do get through, they are totally hopeless and unhelpful. If you raise a complaint, needless to say they won't be able to uphold it! They say they will give full details but they just give meaningless platitudes. I have had a John Lewis Partnership card for 18 years and had no problems until they got Newday to take it over and nothing but problems since. It is really bad for the reputation of John Lewis & Waitrose to be associated with such a badly run company. Doesn't anyone from John Lewis ever get to read the comments on here?!

For those of you, like me, collected reward points via Debenhams (Newday) Credit Card and then converted them in to digital vouchers to spend at debenhams.com.... Be alert! Be aware! You won't be able to use them at all. I've tired myself contacting Debenhams via every possible manner and have had no luck. They'll make up everything and anything. Also never make the mistake to buy anything from Debenhams online. If you can get the exact same product from another reliable retailer and if it's a couple of pound more, then buy from elsewhere and not Debenhams. Because, if for any reason you need to contact Debenhams, you'll go through hell and a complete nightmare. Debenhams don't have a number for contacting. Stick to other stores. Debenhams have the most poor customer service one can imagine. Stay clear or regret! Newday credit card are part of this big scam!
