I don't often leave reviews but felt I had to on this occasion just to highlight the extremely poor work quality of the furniture we ordered which has so far been replaced 3 times (still unresolved) and the poor customer service received. To keep this brief we ordered over £2000 worth of units 7 pieces in total St Ives range, several needed replacing on arrival due to very poor quality these are heavy large units - the door knobs had been moved position re drilled and then filled poorly sunk holes, large damage / splits in the cabinets, paint drops over the shelves, bowed doors, bowed shelves, missing paint patches to name a few. Photo’s were sent to customer service and replaced units were arranged with a 3 week wait time (the other units had to be repaired via their homeserve company) . These replacement units arrived damaged again major splits on the wood panels and same poor finishes. 3rd replacement was promised to be quality checked prior to delivery, I would have thought after the issues we received the units would have been quality checked prior to replacement, unfortunately the quality checked units were also faulty. We are expecting the 4th delivery Friday which is a white gloved service, we are just very disappointed and did not expect such a poor experience with Oak Furnitureland, the inconvenience of waiting in each time for deliveries, the amount of packaging which you are expected to remove and dispose of yourself, 3 trips to the skip so far and units not worth filling up and using as you know it will all need emptying to be replaced again, and all the time on the phone, email sending photo’s etc. I have attached a few photo's just to see the quality/workmanship from Oak Furniture products.

Savannah electric recliner arrived earlier than initially indicated on their website which was very pleasing. Delivery men had to unpack it because box wouldn't go through but of course they are not allowed to take the packaging away which necessitated a neighbour cutting off the very hard cardboard and disposing it. There should be a service to do so for disabled clients! The recliner looks good but has a major fault in that the top back cushion is far too hard and pushes on a part of the spine that is naturally curving causing intense pain and migraines. I reported that to customer services. First email went unanswered and when I sent a second email got an apology and please use links we'll send you by separate email to send us photos. No email ever received so I replied to say so. No response. Therefore I am not at all pleased with their customer service. I do not feel they care enough to follow something through and are procrastinating in hope that you will get fed up... Which begs the question: can you trust a retailer who fails at customer service?

Poor customer relations. Their subcontract service provider only came with the intention of writing of the complaint. Their costumer service phone centre constantly had to seek higher advice and when a supervisor did finally speak to me was intransigent and condisending.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy in store. The sales people are always hassling you. One in Bristol followed us around the store making comments when it was obvious we just wanted to be left alone. We were that fed up with him we left, although I was tempted to tell his manager to put him on an emotional intelligence course. Instead ordered online where there are less arseholes!

So, we tried the showroom sofa and arm chair had electric recliner and very firm seat cushions. This was very a important consideration when making our choice as I am disabled so the firmer cushions made it easier for me to get up. The armchair was also recliner/riser so even better for me on a bad day. When the sofa arrived and was installed in our sitting room, my husband sat on the sofa and noticed the end seat cushions were softer than than the middle seat and much softer than the firm showroom model. I have contacted Oak Furniture Land who have ranged for Homeserve to independently assess the cushions to see what’s wrong and what, if anything, they can do to remedy the problem. I also mentioned during the telephone call that I had been told if the price dropped between the time of order and delivery then the difference would be refunded and that I was due a refund of £55.03, but had not received it. I was then informed that I needed to ring up the pre delivery team before or on the day of delivery to get the refund. I was not informed of any of this when we made our purchase at the Kettering store, I’m fact we were led to believe the refund would be automatic without us having to do anything. The member of staff was very apologetic but was clear that we should have called to claim the money. I asked to speak to a manager to make a formal complaint. He rang today and I explained my disappointment at not being the correct information about claiming the refund and that had I known I would have done so but we were not given the opportunity. He was again apologetic but was unmovable and would not refund the money despite the misinformation on the part of Oak Furniture Land. Very disappointed - first the sofa isn’t the same as the one we ordered and then we’re given the wrong information about claiming money back if the price reduces. My daughter ordered 5 items of furniture from this company when she moved house - she had to RETURN 3 for a refund as they were BROKEN on delivery and beyond repair. She declined to have a replacement. The delivery men were not surprised to be back at her house again to collect the broken items. I wish I had listened to her warnings about this company

Delivery date given at time of purchase. Bear in mind this was 6 weeks pre Xmas. Aware dining set wouldn't arrive in time so we are Xmas dinner on our laps. Anticipated delivery did not arrive. Phoned to chase on day of delivery to be told another 2 weeks. Furious

I wanted a large mirror but I wanted to see the colour/grain of the wood etc. of the one I was actually buying before purchasing, so I went to Oak Furnitureland. When I asked to buy it I was told that I couldn't have that one because everything had to be ordered. After chatting to the really helpful salesman, he said that if I ordered one and I didn't like it, I could bring it to the store and they could swap it over with the one on their wall. This is what I did, (An hours' journey away) but the person I had seen before was not in the store that day and the man in charge said he would not swap it over. Very disappointed, I had to travel back home. (In total: 4 hours wasted + fuel + time in the store on both visits)

Well the top of one of the chairs has a chunk out of it and has been glued back on so very disappointed with this and your company especially when I hear you are supposed to have a good reputation for checking your stock before delivering items

The product is excellent, cannot fault it at all. But the service we got from oak furniture land does not match the price that they charge. The sales person was pushy, did not explain what would happen to the delivery, took our money and just wanted us out of the shop. We just got told the delivery will be in a few days. Then when the product was ready, someone called us to say it's ready, we need to be in during the week. We work Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm so it was pretty much impossible to have a delivery arranged unless we took a holiday for during the week. If we were told at the stage of purchase that delivery is definitely unavailable on a weekend, purchase wouldn't have been made.

We were disappointed that the doors on our cabinet are approx. 6mm out of line. It may not sound like a lot but it was the first thing our first visitor noticed the day it was delivered. "oh, your new furniture is lovely....but the door is squint". Your returns policy was so daunting that I decided we would just live with it. The thought of repackaging a heavy piece of furniture in the exact manner in which it was packaged when it was delivered, and arranging days off work to fit around collection, then waiting for a replacement (again arranging time off work...or paying for a Saturday delivery) just seemed too much to contemplate for something that was in no way our fault. Anyway, we are living with the flaw and otherwise I like the furniture I bought. However, after reading the small print on return of faulty goods, I'm afraid I would struggle to recommend your company.

After opening the package, I noticed a crack on one of the chairs. I wasn't too concerned as I bought a 5 yr protection plan. However, it has been a nightmare to deal with to get this rectified. Firstly, when I call the number on the protection plan, they said you have to call the showroom or head office as the issue came up in the first year( 2 days in my case). On calling the showroom, they were quick to point me to their head office and offered no help at all. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes with the head office and decided to end the call as I already wasted about 1 hr trying to sort this out. What disappoints me the most is that none of this was made clear to me when I bought the product or the protection plan. Customers shouldn't have to deal with this and I wont be buying any more products or recommending oak furniture to anyone else. I will try and call them again to have this fixed but this hasn't been a good experience at all

The people who front the company that I dealt with were great - the manager of the shop in Norfolk I ordered from and the delivery guys. All brilliant and helpful. But oh dear OakFurnitureland the company! The colour of the Kemble range is nothing like the website pictures. I took "Putty" to mean off white like window putty and that's how it looks in the pictures. So when I went in to the shop I didn't actually ask to see the furniture. I thought I knew what I wanted and ordered confidently. Big mistake. I don't have off white wardrobes. I have grey wardrobes and it's quite a deep grey. But I understand I would lose 30% of the price I paid if I try to return them for this reason and in any case, it would be such a performance trying to get them out of the house again I can't face it. So I will live with my grout grey should-have-been-putty-off-white wardrobes and put it down to experience. But my main problem and the reason I will not use this company again is the packaging. Please don't bother to come back with a defence about the need to protect the furniture. I already know all that. But there must be a better way to do it than the enormous amount of polystyrene used. I filled and I mean filled to bursting, 4 WHEELIE bin bags with the little bits of polystyrene alone plus I had 2 car loads of sheets and blocks of the stuff and cardboard and I drive a 4 x 4 !! The amount was immense and all that polystyrene can't be recycled. It will go into landfill and there it will stay for decades. I'm appalled. There are no excuses OakFurnitureland. This is your responsibility. You must invest money in finding greener alternatives and quickly. And don't pass that cost on to the customer please.

We bought a sofa and on the day of delivery we found out that it is too big for our room. We called straight away try to return the BRAND NEW Sofa but they wouldn't do it. It is ridiculous as no other place refuse to return a sofa within specified time period.

Very inflexible system; due to a mix up over our address (I admit that I should have updated things), then over a month to re-deliver and then to find there was a dent in the footstool and the overall standard was not as good as thought it was going to be, I really wouldn't buy with you again. I should have contacted you, but to go through dealing with you again, I left it.
