Would strongly advise against using this company. We spent over £2,000 on 2 new sofas. Both sofas arrived damaged. Really hard to get through on the phone as sat in queues for over half an hour and customer services arent open at the weekend. The replacement sofas were also damaged so had to take a third afternoon off work to wait for another replacement. All this took months to sort. Will never use again.

DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE. Bought a display cabinet to display my partners Lladro that was left to her by her late parents, only had a few weeks when shelf fell onto the ornaments breaking them. Oak furniture land tried to say it was our fault as we hadn't bee's waxed the item on arrival. They sent out an independent inspector who informed us that the display cabinet was in fact faulty and the shelf had split and been glued back into place either at the manufacturers or oak furniture lands warehouse. Oak furniture land after 3 weeks of phoning and not being allowed to speak to a manager, (they always seemed to be in a meeting), offered me £50 as a good will gesture for the broken Lladro, which is very rare and valueable, what an insult!!!

The delivery arrived on the day booked. The delivery driver came in and explained how the delivery would go, he then looked at the bottom of my stairs and said it may be tight but they would try. After unpacking one of my wardrobes he noticed a crack in the wood, telling me this would have to be returned, the two delivery lads then tried to get the wardrobe up the stairs but it wouldn’t fit, so disappointingly I asked them to return the delivery. After speaking to their office I was informed that there would be a returns charge of 25% on each product plus £25 on the smaller chest of drawers costing me over £250. For them to deliver it’s free but if you require express delivery they charge £39. So where they get the 25% plus charge from is beyond me. They state in the T&C section 9.8.1 To ensure there is adequate doorway and stair access which I did using the measurements provided in store and online and as my house is a modern 3 bedroom semi I didn’t expect any issues. The drivers stated that they get this issue a lot, I would surmise that Oak Furniture land earn a lot of money from returns. BE AWARE OF THESE CHARGES BEFORE YOU BUY as they won’t tell you about the return charges in the showroom. I payed for an express delivery of £39 I’d expect a return charge of no more than £39. I will never buy from or recommend this company to anyone.

Savannah electric recliner arrived earlier than initially indicated on their website which was very pleasing. Delivery men had to unpack it because box wouldn't go through but of course they are not allowed to take the packaging away which necessitated a neighbour cutting off the very hard cardboard and disposing it. There should be a service to do so for disabled clients! The recliner looks good but has a major fault in that the top back cushion is far too hard and pushes on a part of the spine that is naturally curving causing intense pain and migraines. I reported that to customer services. First email went unanswered and when I sent a second email got an apology and please use links we'll send you by separate email to send us photos. No email ever received so I replied to say so. No response. Therefore I am not at all pleased with their customer service. I do not feel they care enough to follow something through and are procrastinating in hope that you will get fed up... Which begs the question: can you trust a retailer who fails at customer service?

Having had the furniture for only eight months the hinges on the storage foot stool are buckling. They are poorly made hinges without a single solid bar, the pressure from the gas struts either side have caused them to bend, Oak furniture land are refusing to repair under warranty has I have on occasion sat on the foot stool. The insurance cover oak Furniture land sell are refusing to replace the hinges as it is a fault found within the manufacturers warranty period. I would not recommend Oak Furniture Land to anyone.

With regards to ref ofl 2653623 - we lodged a complaint about the sofas we recieved earlier this month. Two of the seats on our sofas have become extremely depressed and is not padded enough comparatively to the middle seat. This has meant that when sitting down - you sink alot lower than would have expected and there isn't enough support. There was also scuffing and tears on delivery on the back of one of the sofas again photos attached. We have discussed this with your team and have attached photos below to indicate this

We purchased the a bed and Sealy Divine Latex Posturetech 660 Pillowtop King-Size Mattress from Oak Furniture Land (OFL) Guildford store on 28th February 2016, it was delivered in March. The bed is OK, but the mattress is rubbish. We have discovered the following problems with the mattress: unacceptable level of bounce from the springs, distortion of the mattress when sat of lied upon (the mattress forming a parallelogram shape about the base), one side affecting the other (when one person moves, the other instantly feels the movement causing disturbance). Isolation of movement is non-existent settlement and formation of the ridge appears excessive for a mattress of this quality and comprising a latex foam upper layer. We reported the problems through OFL and they arranged for an inspection by Homeserve. Homeserve inspection only covered the measurement of settlement (25 mm at the deepest point) and not the other issues. The inspector failed to issue his report and i had to chase it up! When discussing the outcome with OFS we realised that the report was factually incorrect, disputing the findings. OFL then arranged another inspection, which was cancelled at short notice, arranged another - the inspector turned up unannounced and also failed to carry out a full inspection (ending up in a blazing row). Once again we disputed the findings. We complained to OFL but failed to get anywhere. We had been warned that OFL rarely give in. Our dispute was over the extent of the inspection - OFL seem happy that only a settlement is measured despite all the other significant issues with the mattress. It is an understatement to say that we were not pleased with the extent of the survey and despite our best endeavours to get the inspector to take further measurements at locations where we believe the settlement to be greater and to measure/assess the lack of isolation, excessive bounce and distortion. We complained to OFL on a number of occasions on the basis that their level of service has dropped well below their service level agreement with customers. The mattress clearly does not live up to the statements in the Sealy sales literature e.g. : “Sealy Edge Guard provides edge-to-edge support for greater durability and comfort.“ We have found that the support is inconsistent across the mattress. due to the ridge and settlement, “The Sealy Posturepedic Collection range designed to eliminate the uncomfortable conditions of tossing and turning during sleep.” Our experience is that this is not the case. The settlement, ridge, ‘bounce’ from the spring system and the poor motion isolation and distortion effects the other person and means that it is uncomfortable and does not lead to a good sleep. We are left with a disturbed nights sleep. Will not recommend OFL to others due to the shocking treatment and issues encountered.

Ordered a Sofa in November 2017 which arrived as previously arrived in February 2018. OakFurnitureland Sofas have removal backs and are supplied in very large cardboard boxes. The Customer is expected to construct the parts of the Sofa themselves. Similar to an Ikea flatpack. This would have been beyond my capabilities because of the weight. The delivery men had to remove the two parts from the box to gain access and installed the back to the base of the Sofa. As soon as they left I found the back to be unsecured due to a fault, I asked the drivers to return but they refused. I was told that I had to telephone customer services (And found this to be a premium rate number costing £0.20 per minute. Customer Services were unable to provide a date when a representative could call as they are booked many weeks ahead. Rejected the goods and returned for a full refund. They do not seem to care.

My chest of drawers was very badly damaged on receipt. Their customer services wouldn't deal with the issue over the phone and requested photographs to be sent but said they would get in touch as soon as the photos were received. The e-mail they sent contradicted this and said 2 working days. Needless to say I'm still waiting. I took the day of work for the delivery and am extremely disappointed with lack of response especially as the damage is pretty major and makes the furniture unusable. I have now read a lot of reviews and it seems a common problem with this company. This was my first purchase and it will definitely be my last.

Couldn't order the combination I wanted, sales staff very unhelpful. Customer Service also unhelpful. Furniture delivered is of very poor quality, creases everywhere. The 'free' scatter cushions were awful. About to order new bedroom furniture but it certainly won't be from Oak Furniture.

So, we tried the showroom sofa and arm chair had electric recliner and very firm seat cushions. This was very a important consideration when making our choice as I am disabled so the firmer cushions made it easier for me to get up. The armchair was also recliner/riser so even better for me on a bad day. When the sofa arrived and was installed in our sitting room, my husband sat on the sofa and noticed the end seat cushions were softer than than the middle seat and much softer than the firm showroom model. I have contacted Oak Furniture Land who have ranged for Homeserve to independently assess the cushions to see what’s wrong and what, if anything, they can do to remedy the problem. I also mentioned during the telephone call that I had been told if the price dropped between the time of order and delivery then the difference would be refunded and that I was due a refund of £55.03, but had not received it. I was then informed that I needed to ring up the pre delivery team before or on the day of delivery to get the refund. I was not informed of any of this when we made our purchase at the Kettering store, I’m fact we were led to believe the refund would be automatic without us having to do anything. The member of staff was very apologetic but was clear that we should have called to claim the money. I asked to speak to a manager to make a formal complaint. He rang today and I explained my disappointment at not being the correct information about claiming the refund and that had I known I would have done so but we were not given the opportunity. He was again apologetic but was unmovable and would not refund the money despite the misinformation on the part of Oak Furniture Land. Very disappointed - first the sofa isn’t the same as the one we ordered and then we’re given the wrong information about claiming money back if the price reduces. My daughter ordered 5 items of furniture from this company when she moved house - she had to RETURN 3 for a refund as they were BROKEN on delivery and beyond repair. She declined to have a replacement. The delivery men were not surprised to be back at her house again to collect the broken items. I wish I had listened to her warnings about this company

Avoid this company at all costs. They say free delivery but if you miss a delivery through no fault of your own they charge you £39 to have it delivered again. They will not let you cancel unless you pay £25 so they have you hook line and sinker. I ordered another item and though they would deliver them both together for free. No chance. They still made me pay £39 even though they were coming to my house to deliver a new item. Thieving nasty people.

Just had the worst day of my life, don't even go near this company, been charged £100 after failed delivery, only told half the wardrobe was on the van and the driver never even attempted to take the stock in. Spent half a day on the phone to the worst customer service ever, but they are like machines and don't care about anything other than cash! Now have no wardrobe, £100 out of pocket, after saving up for 6 months to buy this. What a great company, NOT!!!!
