I purchased a dining table and chairs set around four years ago, which came with a warranty/coverage plan. Recently, the base board of one of my dining chairs was damaged, and I submitted a claim for a replacement, which should be covered under my warranty. As part of the process, I was asked to provide a picture of the damaged part. Unfortunately, I didn't have a photo. After several follow-up emails, my claim was ultimately rejected due to the lack of a picture. I then visited Oakland store in my city to try to purchase a replacement base board. However, I was told that they only sell the seat base boards in a pack of four for £120. Since I only need one, this was not a practical solution. The store staff took my order number and claim number, and they confirmed that my warranty should cover the replacement even without the photo. They also said they would follow up with the insurance company on my behalf. Despite this, my claim was still rejected. Following this, I emailed MB&G Insurance six days ago, offering to pay for a single seat replacement myself, but I have not received any response. This is the first claim I have made in over four years of having the coverage.

I have only giving Oak furniture land one star because it wouldn’t let me right a review otherwise. We have had our two recliner sofa’s for just over a year cost over 3000 and one arm started to peel and this was replaced when the engineer said it was a manufacturing fault. A month later the back of the sofa started to peel the leather is coming off. The engineer called and said it was due to body oil, correct me if I am wrong but we can’t sit on this now because if we have any body oil on our bodies this will cause the leather to peel off. What a cop out obviously this is not fit for purpose as you buy a sofa to sit on. I have owned at least 4 different leather sofa’s and our body oil hasn’t affected any of them? We took out the extra 300.00 warranty to protect the sofa but it’s useless because it’s not as they say a manufacturing fault. This is shocking for a company to behave in this way and believe me I won’t be purchasing anything else with them. I am going to seek advice from a solicitor so that we can get something done as we are still paying for them. I will post what happens on all social media ie Facebook tik tok twitter with my results. I have seen this peeling on many other peoples sofa which were purchased from oak furniture land. Please don’t purchase from them as the wash their hands of anything that goes wrong. I will post what happens and the results when my solicitor starts on the case for me. Keep you updated

Promised delivery dates cancelled 4 times. Customer service inadequate and conflicting information given. Was told item not actually on the van, after having confirmation the morning of delivery. I called to make further enquiries and was given a different story about delivery. This time I was told the van had broken down! I will never buy from, or recommend Oak Furniture Land. Apalling service. Two days before Xmas to make things worse. Original delivery date was 27 November. 1 star is generous!

Ordered dinning table and chairs in October said would definitely get before Christmas, delivery date was 11 December, just got message to pick another date as it's not ready nearest day 31st December. Looks like we'll be eating off the floor shocking oak furniture land how dare you advertise Christmas delivery when you can't deliver. Going to try for money back but reading other reviews doesn't look promising SHOCKING.

DO NOT BUY!!! I have made a purchase order with this company and waited 12 weeks, was told order would come on the 12th of November, then 3 days before after we removed our sofas the delivery was pushed back to the 25th November. After this, i received another notification saying that this order is pushed again for a 3rd time. NO COMPENSATION was offered, even then we decided to try and re-book, turns out this clueless company cant even give me a date of when they will come 😂😂😂 After then speaking to the manager I have been told that it will take at least 13 more weeks hahahaha, so totaling almost half a year for some sofas. If you want to ruin your day and potentially Christmas shop here 👍. Also never seen such customer service in my life, like it was my fault for asking for where my sofas are after 3 cancellations. Was forced to cancel the order after wasting 3 months of my time. Date of experience: 19 November 2024

Firstly my delivery was cancelled on the day due to the delivery drivers being unwell which is fair enough. We rearranged for the following Monday on a 5pm-7pm slot no one turned up and no phone call to say there weren’t coming customer service is diabolical

Stay away, last year we waited months after one of the sofas delivered was a completely different model. Couldn’t anyone see that prior to delivery. This time we thought we would give them another go. The bedside cupboard didn’t arrive, the bed had the wrong parts and the mattress was damaged. Brilliant, you just couldn’t have got it more wrong if you tried.

THIS IS A FRIENDLY WARNING TO ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING A `HASTINGS` LEATHER SOFA FROM OAK FURNITURE LAND..... DON`T BOTHER!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!! OR YOU`LL FINISH IN THE SAME SITUATION AS US!!! WE`RE JUST INTO OUR SECOND YEAR OF OWNING THE 3 SEATER AND 2 SEATER ELECTRIC RECLINERS IN TAN. WE ARE STILL PAYING EVERY MONTH FOR THESE ITEMS BUT THE SEATING HAS SUNK SO LOW, IT`S LIKE SITTING ON THE FLOOR!!! WE WERE ADVISED AT THE POINT OF SALE, TO CONSIDER TAKING OUT A 5 YEAR COVER PLAN FOR `PEACE OF MIND!!!` IT WAS ANOTHER £300 ON TOP OF THE COST OF THE SOFAS, BUT WE PAID IT. THE GUY SAID IT WOULD COVER THE COST OF ANYTHING GOING WRONG WITH EITHER SOFA. THIS IS A LIE!!!!!! WE GOT IN TOUCH WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO TELL THEM THAT BOTH SOFAS WERE SAGGING BADLY AFTER SUCH A SHORT SPACE OF TIME, SO THEY SENT SOMEBODY ROUND.....I BET YOU CAN GUESS THE REST!!! OUR SAGGING SOFAS WERE DUE TO `WEAR AND TEAR` AND NOT THE FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURERS. AS A WORKING FAMILY WHO ARE OUT MOST OF THE TIME, I WOULD DISAGREE THAT THESE SOFAS HAVE BEEN OVERUSED......AND IN SUCH A SHORT TIME FRAME FROM WHEN THEY WERE NEW!!! SO BASICALLY, THE SOFAS ARE FILLED WITH A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT FAILS VERY QUICKLY, AND THE INSURANCE GUYS THAT CALL OUT, HIDE BEHIND THE FACT THAT THE SOFAS `HAVE BEEN USED!!!` WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE WANT TO DO WHEN THEY SPEND OVER £3,000 ON A COUPLE OF SOFAS? SIT ON THEM I WOULD SUGGEST!!!! IF YOU MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING ONE OF THESE OVERPRICED, DEFECTIVE SOFAS, PLEASE DO NOT SIT ON IT, AS THE INSURANCE PEOPLE WILL HAVE YOU FOR `WEAR AND TEAR!!!!` AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! I`M NOT TOTALLY SURE WHERE TO GO FOR A NEW SOFA THESE DAYS, AS MY BROTHER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH ONE FROM SCS. THESE SOFAS ARE BIG MONEY TO PEOPLE IN THE CURRENT FINANCIAL CLIMATE, SO THEY SHOULD BE BUILT TO LAST!!! QUITE FRANKLY, THEY ARE`NT. THEY`RE BUILT TO FAIL, SO YOU HAVE TO SPEND AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF YEARS TIME. SO MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO AVOID ANY OAK FURNITURE LAND PRODUCT, AND DON`T TAKE ANY COVER OUT TO PROTECT THEM.....IT`S NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT`S PRINTED ON!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE AGRO WE`VE HAD AND JUST DON`T GO TO OAK FURNITURE LAND.... EVER!!!!

Absolute rubbish quality. Non spring loaded seats, big lumps of cheap foam that flatten quickly. Whatever you buy looks to replace it in 4 years time. The extra insurance is dealt with by a third party insurance, absolutely terrible aftercare. I would never buy from these people again. It's all cheap made to look like quality.

Very poor experience. When purchasing our wardrobes and chest of drawers we enquired about refund policies, and was assured numerous times "we aren't trying to scam anyone". When delivery was first attempted the crew did not even take the wardrobe off the van, the unfriendly delivery team said "that won't fit" and didn't even attempt. We arranged a second delivery where an attempt was made but sadly the product would not fit up the stairs. We have now had to return out product, and rather than getting our full cost paid back, we have had to pay a return fee, and also still pay for delivery. We are now £240 out of pocket, and have no furniture to show for it, plus the added stress of having to deal with multiple days waiting in for delivery men. I cannot recommend oak furniture land at all. The return fees were not explained to us, we were given the order paperwork to sign with important information glossed which has now left us significantly out of of pocket. Avoid.

I will do the quick version of this complaint because it stems over 18 months. I first ordered a 2 and 3 electric recliner sofa April 23. I was advised I didn't need to measure as the sofa came in 3 parts and the delivery drivers were amazing and could get it in anything. The first delivery arrived, they could only get the 2 seater in. Then over the year there were 7 more attempted deliveries, all either delivering the wrong 3 seater, or refusing to try due to bad backs, or needing to get home quickly as it was the end of the day. After the first delivery OFL, offered me what they called a 'goodwill gesture'. After the final and 8th delivery that was wrong I called it a day on the whole incompetent sorry process. I told them to take the sofas I had (one right and one wrong) and refund me my money. They refunded me, but left out £300. Informing me that was refunded last year. I informed that that last year they called it a 'goodwill gesture' so they needed to decided what terminology they were using for which. And they could not use 'refund, goodwill gesture, and compensation' all interchangeably to suit their narrative, dependent on what the situation is what had been happening. So basically I am now without any sofas (I am a disabled lady and I have a young child), without a full refund. Or if I have had a full refund (which is what they are saying) where is my goodwill gesture/compensation for the 18 months of hell they have put me through? This company is corrupt, a scam, and I advise everyone to STAY AWAY FROM OAK FURNITURE LAND. They take your money, and do not care about the rest. Whilst they keep your money the sales people still get and keep their commission, and they still earn interest on it. When you get a refund or partial refund in my case, they still get to keep all of the interest that accrued. It's like being in an abusive relationship with coercion, and financial abuse. You finally escape but are left battered and abused, stressed with anxiety, and money taken from you. Get as far away from this company as you can.

Ordered a chest of drawers, when it was delivered it had several problems with it & the quality was very poor. I sent pictures of it & they ordered me another one which when delivered was worse than the first one, it had 9 problems & the wooden top was so rough it was like sand paper. When I phoned they offered me a discount of £50 & I told them that I wouldn't pay £50 in total for it. I have never had furniture delivered in such poor condition. They gave me a full refund & I won't be shopping in there anytime soon.

Sofas were delayed twice and I was left with nothing to sit on for 2 weeks. Finally arrived 13 weeks from order date and when 2 and 3 seaters arrived the 2 seater was damaged badly with at least 15 marks and a small hole on the back. Absolutely shocking condition considering the price tag(3,649 sale price.) After sending a technician out I have been offered a replacement for both sofas. I just have to wait another 10 weeks ( I won't hold my breath). So no compensation was offered even though I have to take another day Annual Leave and have to have to look at sofa full of imperfections. The worst company I've ever bought furniture from, I always thought their products were excellent quality. NO AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Ordered Acacia bedroom furniture in feb paid in cash up front, with delivery date of May told by salesperson all made in UK but the problem was sourcing the wood due to conflict in the region it travels from, yet the packaging when delivered has printed on it “made in Vietnam” so not made in UK! Delivery date arrived was told I would get call half hour before furniture arrived - slot was 7-10am. Got a call at 6.45am followed by the delivery arriving 5 mins later! Doorstep delivery so loaded into garage when unpacked the set of drawers looked like it had been dropped from a great height - split in numerous parts and cracked! Call to customer services and offered a £150 discount on the item ( it wasn’t a scratch it was wrecked!) refused so offered a replacement and another date booked for a day I had a hair appt booked but was told I would get a half hour call which would mean I would have chance to get back as I’m only 10 min away. Delivery date came with slot between 12-3 , call came while I was getting my hair washed at 11.45 and from security cameras drivers were already on the driveway!! So no pre warning, I rang back 5 mins later, no answer, text the number no answer they then left. Rang customer services to be faced with a lady who just kept telling me it was my fault it hadn’t been delivered and she couldn’t ask the drivers to go back they expect people to be in for delivery( I would have been in had I got the call I was promised!) so yet another date had to be arranged for 2 weeks time and another day off work! Got a confirmation email with date and that I would get a 3 hour slot day before. When I didn’t I had to ring to be told the delivery slot hadn’t been requested so it wouldn’t be getting delivered! At this point I have had enough the lady on the phone was very apologetic and understood my frustration and booked yet another slot with premium delivery and half hour call. I did ask why they mention a half hour call on the website when it doesn’t happen but she promised me it would, they would deliver to a room of my choice, collect the damaged drawers and take away any packaging. So here I am delivery day with a slot between 7-10am and guess what, knock on the door at 6.55am from delivery team NO HALF HOUR CALL!! Delivered furniture to a room of my choice, straight up the stairs and into the bedroom across the new stairs, landing and bedroom carpet with dirty feet so I’ve spent the last half hour washing carpet! One of them did remove his shoes and apologize on behalf of the other but it’s just not on! Damaged drawers were taken but not packaging! All in all poor service I will definatly not be using this company again and would dissuade family/friends from doing so.

In January 22 we ordered a table, chairs and sideboard from Oakfurniture land, which were delivered in March 22. In January 24 we found the sideboard and table was riddled with woodworm. We rang oakfurniture land, they said send pictures. They agreed to replace them, so far so good. In March 24 the new sideboard arrived, within 2 weeks the top of the sideboard was peeling. In April 24 the new table arrived which is a different colour to the sideboard. We got in touch with oakfurniture land and they said there was nothing they can do about it. So we are now left with a table that is a different colour to the sideboard, and a sideboard that is peeling on the top. We are very dissatisfied. If you want my advice never do business with oakfurniture land. We have learned the hard way.
