Unfortunately lost trust completely after receiving a bill of over 1k in debt after a was in positive balance for over 6 months by £500! The bill includes months from 2023 yet it was meant to be for 2024!!! I didn’t expect that and looking at individual months usage it certainly didn’t add up!!! Really disappointed and therefore has gone back to eon as they do have night tariff now for EV. Regret recommending it to others in the past and will feel guilty if they had similar experience. Avoid them and go for a more reputable company for a peace of mind. Now I need to raise the funds as can’t face complaints procedure etc simply don’t have the time!! What a shame octopus

Applied for a refund after paying far to much. STILL WAITING. Try and complain but the system does not allow you to enter your postcode.

Bully boys tactics to get a Smart meter installed by stating your meters at its end of life. Refused & asked what can be done as I do not want a smart meter. Replied sorry it is a promotion!!!! Seriously...they lied to boost their smart meter figures! Furious and the last 6 weeks have been ping ping email with broken English responses.

Absolute scammers! When I moved in I was told the property provider was Octopus yet when I registered they said it was Shell Energy. Paid the first Shell bill before receiving an Octopus bill. Received several letters threatening court action due to an unpaid bill - sent Octopus proof of payment for this and it turns out they overcharged me and I'm due £150 back. THREE months on they have still not matched the proof of payment to my account and returned the money. It's absolutely criminal!

RIP OFF!!!!!! Octopus energy are ripping people off with extortionate bills ,not calling back ,don't even care ,,,, Myself and my wife both work full time , live in a normal sized home, have led lighting throughout the house, roof and wall insulation,new economical boiler ,even 16 large solar panels on the roof of which create LOADS of kilowats per day,,,,, and yet we still have a bill from octopus for £4,500. We have already paid them £2,439 THIS YEAR ALONE!!!!! AND THEY ARE STILL taking £100 per month direct debit,, We have brought this to their attention more than once They even sent out an engineer to our house last Thursday (13/7/24) for a track and trace,,,(he doesn't do track or trace)!!!!!! for him to say that with all our energy from solar we shouldn't really have a bill at all ,or at least a tiny one,,,he didn't get it either , funny thing is they are sending him out again in 2weeks time to do the same thing,,,so incompetent!!!!! We also seem to be using MORE electric when we are at work or asleep, according to them, on there own website where you can see your usage,, I was promised a call back on friday 10 am ,still waiting Then I wanted a high up superior to call me back , promised within 24 hrs,,,,,still waiting WE DIDNT ASK TO BE WITH THESE FXXXXXG MONKEYS!!!!!!! WE HAD AN EMAIL FROM SHELL TO SAY WE DIDNT NEED TO WORRY AND NOT NEED RAISE A FINGER AS EVERYTHING WOULD BE EXCHANGED TO OCTO'PUSSIES' I know we are NOT ALONE with these problems as I have read many reviews from other customers, of whom some have the same problem as us,, one having a £6,000 bill We have contacted the ombudsman ,of whom are very interested It's not fair that they are doing this to normal people , especially in these hard times!!!!!! This review wouldn't let me do less than one star ,but to my reckoning they deserve a minus The latest is that weve just had an email from someone called 'elena' to ask us to email Greg, the CEO of the company personally and to cc her into it,,,,BUT,,, he hasn't been bothered to answer this email ,,,,,,he has had for nearly a week already,,,,,, Same old ,same old from them Utter joke comany

Octopus energy was my biggest mistake ever. With rude, incompetent staff, they tend to be fraudulent with their actions. Avoid at all cost.

I left in october 2023 Back in January 2023 i pay £150 each month due to miss payment they said i had, by april same year my app said £45 to be left after £550 bill in January but when i looked bck on app days later said it was back up to £150 then from every week it went bck up to £600 0dds i left which how would i be able too move with such a big bill.... now agree to pay bck £18.49 for 3 years just to keep them off my bck. I wish i could give them zero stars

Messed up my account and then put me in arrears.. Every time I made contact to sort it out, I have a different person telling me somethung different.. They phoned me and emailed throughout the day, every day and threatening debt collectors, even though I'd spoken with customer service and explained when monies would be paid. Then added £112 onto my bill, followed by £118 2 days later. Absolute joke of a company.

Terrible customer service , I explained twice to them I would like a fixed tarrif , but on two occasions this year they sent me e mails saying they were going to increase this by £75 , without me knowing , I will be switching asap ,

Very disappointed with this company, Decided to change suppliers after a few years with Octopus, Paid all Bills within 3 days of issuing them, On the final day they sent me a bill for over £400. I called them to quiz this bill, They said I haven't been billed for Electricity for over 14 months!!..I was unaware of this as I just paid the amounts due, Looking at my bills I am now thinking I've been overcharged for Gas only!! I told them this surely can't be right, how can you not bill me for over 1 year with smart meters installed and hourly readings, I can see my usage. I'm happy enough to pay what I owe but very unhappy about how it's come about, Very poor from Octopus energy,

I was with shell energy the Octopus took over my bill went through the roof I was also in credit and getting refund from Shell Energy now I am in debt from £457.00 and I was away for one month in January 2024 so Octopus is filling their pockets with high price for gas and electricity so I have decided to leave Octopus and I have complain about this 10 weeks ago still no answer

Very poor experience. Waiting for a resolution to my wrong billing since January, which is now 6 months. And over a month now to actually get my case escalated and a call from a manager. And all this time i receive wrong bills. Nor sure on what they base their claims for best customer service at all. Disappointed at the least.

I've been with them for about three months, when I joined they said we will give you £50 and the person who recommended you will get £50, never happened also they wanted to replace my meter so they arranged a time 8-5 never turned up And so they said we will give you £30, never received and so they arranged another visit to replace my meter today, guess what waited 8-5 all day never showed up no phone call ,email etc ,spoke to them said we we will give you £30,obviously they just pay people off, they owe me £110 I know I will never get it So just treat them as normal energy money making machines

They don't reply to emails, one minute I'm £103 in credit, then month after I'm £266 debit. They are not helpful. I have asked for paper bills which they said they would send me in January, it's now June and no bills have been sent. Once my bill is sorted and their errors rectified I will change provider

Do not use octopus energy as your energy supplier. We did an unfixed plan where how much they charge you depends on your energy usage. However in the first 8 months they charged us the same amount every single month just to keep us in the with them and after they randomly switched up now I’m -£1000 in my octopus energy account. And after calling again and again they’ve still not resolved the issue they just keep sending it to different departments to deal with

Months and months of electric smart meter reading day and night units wrong way round, sending manual readings and awaiting a new meter, bills not updated, it’s now June and last bill was beginning of April. Don’t know where I am. Sick of ads hearing people say how good Octopus are, just not true for so many of us. What has gone wrong with them, Eon are reducing their prices, Will Octopus reduce theirs at beginning of July 2024!!?

My mum has been with them 2 years. Im her carer and give her readings. Ive just been told that i should have been giving 2 readings for electric. So now they are saying my mum owes them 1600 pounds this is still after taking the 700 pounds credit they said she was in. How can they now after 2 years tell me this but expect my mum to pay when its their error not telling us sooner.

Like some other customers we were transferred from Shell to Octopus energy. We have a £4350 debt with them.. Yet.... We have 16 solar panels, 2 of us only live here and work fulltime. It's a 2 bed bungalow. Have all the economy suggested insulation ect plus a new boiler which we are too scared to use incase the bill gets higher. We have been told they would recommend we pay £645 per month to bring the account back in line. Noticed on our account they have listed our named property and one 5 doors up the road when we told them this they said they would send out a Track and trace engineer. So on Thursday we waited in for the engineer whom then says , don't know why they sent me out because I can't do track and trace but I can take photos of your meter ( we'll blow me , I can flipping do that , so a days wage gone waiting in). The engineer says " octopus should be paying you with the amount of energy your getting ". The best bit to come .... We contact octopus again we explain what the engineer said . Octopus say " oh OK we will send out a definite track and trace engineer on the 27th June!". We contact the engineer who visited this week to keep him in the loop and he's says , hang on let me check what's going on , oh yes they are sending me back out to you, but I do t do track or trace !!! For customers who are stuck and don't know where to turn , the ombudsman are extremely keen to help and support. We are currently going through the ombudsman and media due to the stress and incompetence of this company. Even the customer care assistant from Octopus said that she doesn't even use them 🙄. So u less my dogs are having a full on " rave" when I'm at work ( which is when we are using most of our electricity) there is somethings seriously wrong with this company . God knows why they call it " Octopus " perhaps 🤔 renaming it " Monkeys 🐒 " maybe more suiting .
