“Today I called Octopus and spoke to Britney. I am an existing customer of Octopus.
First, I asked how I could change, using my on-line account, from my existing fixed tariff ( which does not end until August 2025 ) to the latest fixed tariff rates, for another 12months, from today. I wanted to do this because the latest standing charge is much lower and gives me a saving, even with higher unit cost.
Initially, Britney thought that this could not be done, without leaving Octopus or only by first changing to a variable tariff and then changing back to the latest fixed tariff.
However, after discussing this with her manager she then told me that this could infact be done by her. She then switched both of my billing accounts with Octopus onto the the latest 12m fixed tariffs that apply to each location.
She did this very quickly and correctly and while I was still on the phone call, I received two emails, which confirmed that both of my billing accounts had been switched correctly to the latest fixed tariff rates.
This was excellent service, done very swiftly, with very little hassle.
It was much better service than I have recently experienced with other utilities, eg BT.”
