“Terrible take no responsibility for sellers unlike Amazon and eBay
Bought something for 100 pounds approx not advertised accurately OnBuy not interested referred me to PayPal resolution centre”
“I bought 2 iPads
I paid £40 for priority delivery the next day, the other option was far less but I wanted them earlier so I paid. They still came late and when I sent a message to seller there attitude and customer service was diabolical!!!! They mirror less have said tough !!! There messages back were full of sarcasm!!! Clearly looking at other sites on google this company is a scam company!! I’m preying the iPads are working now !!!! The trust pilot reviews are not true”
“Total scam site. All looks good. I got correct emails. Order placed. order despatched, then unable to track, Royal Mail know nothing about it.
Even though I paid by Credit Card it had to be done via their PayPal account, obviously so it takes away the responsibility of Onbuy dealing with refunds!! Goods have never appeared. Trying to contact them is a no go. When I've investigated this Company on Companies House they consist of hundreds of sub companies.
Trying to reclaim my money via Paypal but because I dont have a Paypal account this is proving very hard.
PLEASE DO NOT USE ONBUY!!
I have informed my local trading standards dept, Northumbria Police and BBC Watchdog.
Then asked for a review for goods that never arrived”
“SCAMERS !!!
wow : open air scam ......... they offer slightly cheaper items , take your money and then : THEY DO NOT SEND YOU ANYTHING ! WARNING : THIS IS A SCAM !!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!”
“You go through the whole registration and order process on the basis of fast free delivery, where free delivery keeps being stated; then at the very end they either add on excessive postage, or you simply get a 'can't be delivered to this location'.”
“Ordered a Nikon battery at a 'too good to be true' price and it arrived a few days later. It all looked very legit, with a flat-packed Nikon box, instructions and plastic end cap on the battery itself, but on checking the Nikon website for counterfeit advice, it confirmed that their batteries do not have the model number stamped on the front, while the sticker on the reverse looked skewed and not applied correctly.
I contacted the seller through OnBuy and they quickly refunded my Paypal payment, which was helpful, but it just confirmed my suspicions, because if the product were genuine, a reputable seller would dispute this and certainly wouldn't refund me without requesting I return the item.
It sounds like I was lucky because it appears many people don't get their money back, and my purchase was relatively small. When it comes to the Paypal transaction and protection, the OnBuy site has lots of caveats in their Ts&Cs saying they're just the middleman, the contract is with the seller and they aren't responsible for their sellers' etc. etc. which, even if it's legal, isn't helpful and is just poor customer service.
The last thing I'm going to do is use a counterfeit battery in my pro camera, so it's going in the recycling. If you're reading this review, just don't bother.”
“Never heard of this company before but they seemed to have decent reviews. Do not bother using them. Never received my order. Couldn't speak to anyone directly only via links on their website. Stick with Amazon.”
“Will not touch this company again with a barge pole! Bought a LaCie drive from them at a cost of £214.76. Their website tells me it was dispatched with an estimated delivery of 22nd October. So why am I still waiting on the 3rd November. Emails not replied to and phone never answered. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!”
“STAY WELL CLEAR - Use eBay or Amazon
Be warned, if you get a problem with a seller OnBuy are not interested and just tell you to contact PayPal, not so easy if you do not have any transaction ID. Even worse if you pay by credit card, Paypal will tell you to contact your card provider and the card provider will tell you to contact PayPal. So whose responsibility is it to sort out these issues. At least with eBay and Amazon you always have good customer support to turn to.OnBuy are only interested in taking their percentage cut from sales and with ABSOLUTELY NO interest in anything else.
IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!
If you look through the reviews of any company selling on OnBuy you will only find 4+5 star reviews. THEY DO NOT publish any review that is below 4 stars. You can make your own mind up what that says about the company.”

“Ordered a Nintendo switch on the 04/10/20 which was a Sunday and got an immediate despatch message and was spooked already ,money paid through PayPal thankfully ,so despatch notes that royal mail has it ( on a Sunday) and will arrive on the 7-9th roll on the 14th and still no delivery so tried to make contact but no answer so contact was made through PayPal dispute ,they answered that day (14th) and said delivery was made on the 14th by courier called barret holdings ltd Long story short I was scammed PayPal was scammed onbuy don't care , if you can get your product from a reputable site and save your money 💰”
“The product (a JBL speaker) arrived with a Chinese plug. The seller offered to send a UK adaptor. It never arrived and the seller now not responding to emails. Onbuy did not deal with my complaint, just directed to PayPal. PayPal investigated. They were sent tracking info from the seller showing the product was delivered (yes it has, with wrong plug!) and have now closed my case. So no luck there and still unable to charge my speaker! I will not be buying from Onbuy ever again.”
“Sent damaged wardrobe, called them, sent photo of damage on a side panel, explained that would be unseen, they offered £30 refund ? Which they have not sent after 6 weeks, avoid this company !”
“DO NOT BUY AN IPHONE FROM ONBUY
My Iphone has stopped working in the warranty period. The seller Digi-E via OnBuy has gone out of business. OnBuy do not answer emails and do not have a telephone number.
It turns out my Apple iphone is an American model, so cannot be repaired by Apple in the UK. Apple USA can’t repair it because the iphone is in the UK. That’s ok until your iphone just dies overnight (a known problem with the Iphone XR), then you’re well and truly screwed.
Apple USA sold this phone to AT&T, who then sold it on to Digi-E, who I bought my Iphone from via OnBuy. So, basically I have no phone and I’m £589 worse off 10 months later.
OnBuy might be a wanna be Amazon, but they are in no way remotely that professional. OnBuy have no phone number, do not respond to emails and generally have a ‘do not care attitude’ over Facebook messages, the only way I could get any form of communication.
11 days have gone by and I’m told to wait for Digi-E to contact me because ‘they must be busy with lockdown orders!’ Their emails bounce and their website is down, so I can’t even get hold of them.
PLEASE BEWARE BEFORE BUYING FROM ONBUY OR DIGI-E”
“I would not use this site or purchase anything from them as I have had very little support getting a refund. I ordered a infrared thermometer on the 15th August which cost £13.99 and was dead when I tried to get it working with new battery's in. The company is called sunn Y-A manufactured this product and has not responded to my requests for a refund. I just felt I should make other people aware you will get very little help when things go wrong. I am still waiting for a refund?”
“Awful ! I Ordered Apple AirPods from sekihub who use the I buy site as a selling platform as do other company’s .
Product arrived 2 mths late
Faulty and I sent back however they will not refund money or replace the item (AirPods) they have returned to Apple for repair . This was 5 months ago and no refund no AirPods and no correspondence. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE !”
