“STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE, SURGERY WAS PAINLESS AND AS EXPLAINED. END RESULTS ARE NOT YET FINAL AND IS TAKING LONGER THAN EXPECTED DUE TO TYPE OF SURGERY.”

“I have been thinking of having laser surgery for a VERY long time. Each time i considered it i was very frightened of the procedure and convinced myself out of fear not to have it done. Eventually, i could not stand wearing contact lenses any more due to them being uncomfortable and decided it was "now or never". The procedure itself was not so traumatic as i imagined and recovery was much better than i thought it would be. Apart from dry eyes sometimes and my left eye vision not being as good as the right, i have been satisfied with the outcome so far.”

“Eyes are biological things, so obviously it is not an exact procedure, my life is still much easier than it was, i can see when i stay over at friends with out having to wear my contacts 24/7, i can now go swimming with confidence, but my driving has been affected, i have picked up my glasses today and hopefully this will now be rectified, then i can go onto have more surgery in a month or two. Here at Uxbridge they have been so helpful and reassuring, thank you.”

“I was dubious about the benefit of surgery. I felt that i would be sold the surgery regardless of whether i would get benefit and maybe feel like a 'sucker' someone who would be sold anything. Despite the disappointment I feel with the need to wear reading glasses for all close work where before I could 'just about' manage I no longer need to wear glasses for walking around and reading stuff in the distance. Dirty smudged glasses are a thing of the past and yes despite the pain and discomfort of the initial treatment I would do it again. I am more than pleased with the after care provided at Leicester High Cross and have no complaints, I travel from Rugby to this store out of choice, nearer one in Leamington Spa.”

“very satisfied with the treatment and the care given a very professional team and well worth the money paid for the treatment , slight dissapointment with the ghosting thought it would have been sorted with the lazer treatmeant but time will tell , heres hoping,”

“I was worried about my vision since my last visit as I found glaze and double vision at times when I was running. But the eye tests proved that my vision is perfect and the optometrist is very reasurring, which I found that it is very helpful.”

“Initially before the surgery there was a sense of worry, whether the decision I had choosen was the right one. Looking back, so far I believe it was. My only issue at the moment is balancing my expectations with the reality. Since in my mind I thought that my vision would be fine within a day or two. Which has not been the case. I realise that each person is a individual and that as such each person will take a different time to heal. It's just I feel that this was not fully emphasized to me and that is why I feel slightly dishearten. I hope in time that this feeling will be unfounded. However, in general I am happy with the results so far and hope that my eyesight will keep improving to the stage where all the sights issues I am currently having disappear in time. Thank you. “Excellent service when in each store. Was concerned about the vision in one eye and could not speak to anyone in the Shaftesbury office. Went through to head office a number of times who emailed Shaftesbury to call me but no one did. Had to resort to coming into Shaftesbury for another appointment. Again service for excellent in store.”

“Initial appointment went smoothly and I was very excited. On the day of surgery I did not relise the lenth of time you would have to wait, which made me nevous. After surgery, 2-3 in, my eys were so sore that I had wondereed what i had done, however after a further two hours my eyes settled and I would do it all again. The only hiccup would be time keeping and appointments between store and call center, every appointment booked was wrong, on each system.. making me wait each time. No happy with that.”

“i was extremeley nervous about having the surgery carried out,but all the staff were,great and put me at ease. They have so far been good and explained things when i have returned for check ups. so far so good things are getting better.”

“It took alot of courage for me to go ahead and have eye laser. It is totally amazing and wish i had it done before now! theres nothing at all to worry about and its over and done with in seconds! i went home to sleep as recommended and it was crazy that i woke and could see! Although quite blurry i could see a difference. I would so recommended it! its life changing! If your thinking of it just do it!”

“I opted to go ahead with laser eye surgery after the birth of my son. I didn't want to have to worry about glasses when playing with him or watching him in the future at school sports day! I opted to choose optical express as they were offering the latest treatments. My experience on the day of the surgery was not quite what I expected and was quite an uncomfortable experience especially when the suction was applied to my eyes. I woke up the next morning with great vision in my right eye but blurred and double vision in my left eye. I was very worried, and when I went for my check up in Cambridge I ended up having to get in the train to see my surgeon in London. It turned out not to be as serious as I feared and over time my vision improved in my left eye. As at my 3 month check-up I have better than 20-20 vision and am glad I had the surgery done, despite the complications on the way. Remember you only have one pair of eyes so don't enter any to decision to have (or not to have) a procedure lightly.”
