I am very happy with my distance vision I just wish I have done it before so I would not need reading glassess for short vision.

Although I had some issues with appointment dates and so on, my complaint was dealt with very efficiently and had a satisfactory conclusion. I am very happy with my vision and with the overall service I received.

As a child the journey of weakning eyesight started at a tender age of 12 years, since then I have been burdened with looking through apair of prescription glasses. Currently at aged 45 I have a new set of vision that I value and cherish and gives the freedom to do active sports and live life to the memoirs of vmy teenage years.

I have had laser eye serguery in both eyes, and had re-treatment in my right eye. If I was in the same situation again, I would have it done no questions asked. In the work I do and sports I play it has made a big diffence to quality of life. I was very shot sighted (-7 in my left eye and -6 in my right eye), so because my eyes were so bad it has made a massive diffrence, and I would reccomend it to anyone thinking about it.

I had LASEK surgery, as my eyes were not suitable for LASIK. On reflection I am pleased that I went through this proceedure rather than the more invasive option, even though it is reported to be more painful afterwards. Despite the pain I managed to cope without resorting to the anaesthetic eye drops. Now and then, three weeks after surgery, I think my vision is better than it was before with my -3 glasses on. I am very much hoping that things will stabilise like this - in which case I will firmly say that this is one of the best things I have ever done!

i am really feeling a lot better and confident in all aspects of life ever since i ve had my surgery done.... its totally a new life when you dont depend on a pair of glasses for every little thing in life, all day long... even talking to people and listening to them gets easier....i just love it and recommend to every one... and i cant wait for my son to be old enough now to get his surgery done....

So quick, hardly any pain more discomfort. Quite a bad perscription so its taking time to get there. If I'm honest I expected it to be instant vision but hey as the saying goes "good things come to those who wait".

lasek is extrememly painful, I wish I was made aware of this as I thought I was having lasik until the day of surgery. It wasn't what I was expecting, it's extremely painful and slow healing, however- my eyesight improves daily and I'm glad I had it done

You can't compare your vision. Much much better. I wish I could have done a long time ago.

Good treatment up to the surgery, but afterwards "follows ups" not optimal with cancellations and changing time and venue for follow ups

I opted to go ahead with laser eye surgery after the birth of my son. I didn't want to have to worry about glasses when playing with him or watching him in the future at school sports day! I opted to choose optical express as they were offering the latest treatments. My experience on the day of the surgery was not quite what I expected and was quite an uncomfortable experience especially when the suction was applied to my eyes. I woke up the next morning with great vision in my right eye but blurred and double vision in my left eye. I was very worried, and when I went for my check up in Cambridge I ended up having to get in the train to see my surgeon in London. It turned out not to be as serious as I feared and over time my vision improved in my left eye. As at my 3 month check-up I have better than 20-20 vision and am glad I had the surgery done, despite the complications on the way. Remember you only have one pair of eyes so don't enter any to decision to have (or not to have) a procedure lightly.

it wasn't made clear to me prior to the surgery that my close up vision would be reduce significantly, there is a good chance i wouldnt have gone ahead has i known my close up vision would be impaired straight after the surgery, all anyone kept saying to me prior was that as you get older your close up vision diminishes which i already knew! i thought it was weird everyone from the consultant to the surgeon was saying this and as it turns out my close up vision was impaired the very next day! not to mention the store manager at kingston was a very unhelpful when i was looking for support on this. apart from that everything else has been excellent, including the after care support excl. the kingston store manager.

I have been wearing glasses since I was about 7 years of age and this is nearly all of my life as I am now 35 years of age. I found it to be frustrating wearing glasses and naturally this time of year as winter starts to set in, there would be a problem with misting up when entering my home from outside. I feel that the laser surgery that I have had has severely improved the quality of life and I am now able to enjoy a lot more sports and acitivites than before, such as swimming, climbing and martial arts. These sorts of things would have been difficult in the past as I would have had to have prescription goggles or sports frames to participate in these activities. Although the initial surgery was painfull, more than I expected, I feel that it was worth it and I would recommend it to anyone who is in a similar position to how I was pre surgery. Also financially, although the cost of the surgery was significant. I anticipate that over the next 3-5 year period, I will recover the cost as I no longer need to invest in glasses or the expensive lenses.
