“As you'd expect I was scared and nervous with the whole idea of lasers firing into my eyes only thinking of what could go wrong. But i was supported all the way through the operation and before I even had it done. Having been through the whole procedure I could see slightly, words couldn't explain the joy and surprising effect of laser eye surgery, i felt normal. The grittyness my eyes felt afterwards was a bit uncomfortable but after a couple hours i could see perfectly, it was unreal that for 5 years I couldn't see no further than a my own arm length. I would definately refer this operation to anyone without a thought.”

“Really happy to have had the surgery, I work at a computer everyday and am finding working very tiring on my eyes, in the evenings I avoid watching TV due to tired eyes, am hoping this will improve.”

“It started hard to do my eyesurgery, because of my personal life and problems. They provide me help, and cheers I can do it! I waited about 1 year, but done it, and now I don't need to wear my glasses after 20 years, and this second eye surgery wasn't as painfull as everyone said to me! I'm happy I've done it, and I can feel I was in the best hands! Thanks for the Staff who was together in this with me!”

“At initial consultation everything explained clearly. Operations were like clockwork with no discomfort apart from having to wear eyepatch for 24 hours. Amazing that I could see clearly without glasses even after just one eye done. Would have been better if could have had the surgery done in Leeds but being able to have the follow ups here is good. I have had no issues continuing tp play sports such as badminton and golf.”

“The first few of days were very painful, my eyes were swollen and very uncomfortable, I became very sick in the first week of having the surgery, I couldnt hold food or drink down due to the trauma my eyes had been through, it not only effected my vision but also effected my general health and it took a good couple of weeks before I became settled again in regards to pain and overall comfort. Although I suffered for the first month or so in various ways, 3 months later my vision has greatly improved and I would do it again knowing how painful the operation was. I had a lazy eye (astigmatism) which I feel has been greatly improved thanks to the surgery and my vision is now 20/20 thanks to optical express.”

“I did find the surgery a bit nerve racking but I am glad I had it done overall. The journey home was pretty bad on the train because of the bright lights (it was Oct. and dark when I left) and I am glad I took advice and wore sunglasses and had someone to travel home with. I found the post op appointements very reassuring. The staff at Birmingham have always been very pleasant and helpful.”

“I could barely see my hand in front of my face- now I have better than 20/20!! The staff were amazing- always happy to joke with me and help me relax. To sound cliched- They've given me the miracle of sight for my 21st birthday!”
