“If you’d have asked me last year it would have been 5 stars. My dog finds these harnesses very comfortable, they don’t rub and with her bro g a sighthound, being able to get separate pieces means you really can get a perfect fit. We replaced for larger sizes of all three when she outgrew the first one (we purchased when she was a puppy). However the second one has not lasted well (baring in mind she’s not even two yet, so we have not had it very long!) and two out of the three pieces are broken. Only the back piece is still intact. Dissapointing, and not good value for money if these are breaking so fast. It is the plastic buckle areas that are breaking. She doesn’t swim with it on and it’s under her raincoat when she’s walked in the rain and we have generally taken very good care of it! So, sadly, we won’t be purchasing again”

Thank you for your useful feedback, Michelle. This is most unusual to see and certainly not what we would usually expect from our harness. We would like to replace these pieces for you, free of charge and will contact you directly to arrange this with you. With the intension of preventing this happening again, we may need to do a little investigating. It is most unusual for the webbing to fray and the clips to snap without some sort of external trauma. Whilst the harness is very durable, it is not indestructible and the scratches on the clip suggest that something might be rubbing on that area either whilst it is being worn or in storage, so it might be worth keeping an eye out in the coming weeks. Some other preventative tips that we suggest include: - Ensuring that your dog is supervised at all times whilst wearing the harness - Keeping an eye out for anything that could be rubbing on that area whilst your dog is wearing the harness (for example, we have had dogs who like to rub up against walls) or in storage. - Brushing off any dirt or grit from the harness after every use - Placing the harness in a wash bag in the washing machine and washing on a cool wash

“Love the range but the recent leads purchased have much smaller D rings on them and I used to put a gencon lead/collar through the original ones and it worked great for my strong pulling Golden Retriever and Labrador, cant do it with these ones so a little dissappointed as ordered to replace the worn ones.”

“I am not sure that the harness I ordered fit’s correctly,,, as perfect fit was recommend by my trainer I am taking the harness to. Our training lesson tomorrow and will be guided by what she says and hopefully she will adjust accordingly if needed”

“Received harness quickly. Fit was fine first week than she managed to escape. Readjusted straps but she still wiggles out of it. Was disappointed but I could be doing something wrong. Would like your advice.”

It is great to hear that you are a fan of the quality of the harness, Andrew. It is a shame that the fit wasn't quite right. We do offer an exchange service where we ask you to contact us before sending your harness back. We can then send you out alternative pieces to try, free of charge until you are happy with the fit. We just ask that you send us back any unwanted pieces once you are happy with the fit. “The plastic clips rubs his legs as the padding doesn’t stay in place as he walks. It fits ok apart from this problem.”

This certainly shouldn't happen as the harness is designed with the dog's upmost comfort and safety in mind. It is possible that this is an issue with the fit. Thank you for your feedback, Susan. We are so sorry to hear that stitching has come away from the front D-ring of your harness. This is most unusual, and we can certainly replace this for you, free of charge. We will contact you directly to arrange this with you. Some preventative recommendations include: - Not using the front D-ring on its own with a single lead - If using a double ended lead attached to both the front and rear D-rings together, we recommend putting the majority of tension on the D-ring and using the front for gentle steering - Brush off any dirt or grit after every use - Wash on a cool wash and place in a wash bag or pillowcase - Leave to dry naturally and do not put in a tumble dryer.

“Harness is very good we had the very small size and are happy with the fit however the release clips are very fiddly and hard to undo, so much so that my wife is looking for slightly larger better quality clips to try and replace the clips to make it useable”

There is some cross over between size ranges and it is possible that your pup would fit in to our larger 15mm range, which had slightly wider straps and bigger clips. “This is the third set of dog leads I’ve bought from Perfect Fit. I thought this last one was the same as previous orders but it doesn’t include a loop to put your hand through. So you have to clip one end over to the lead to make a handle. Unfortunately this clip and the fluorescent tape make it very uncomfortable to use.”

“Well, since you asked. I have done more cussing over my two harnesses than over most things. The online videos are not great, and some of the crucial moves are black against black. It would help (of course this would be a manufacturing modication) if each part was carefully labeled. Other than that they do work well, and the dogs don't get their leashes tangled up as much.”

“Received a different colour to that ordered black instead of black reflective and didn't receive first time order discount I was hoping for. The fit however was good so didn't give for expense of having to return.”

“The idea of having different components to the harness separate to mix and match is brilliant. Harness quality not different to the one off the shelf at less of the expanse. Also one of the pieces needs an exchange to get the perfect fit and although followed an instruction and called I was advised that customer care will contact me in 24hr to arrange an exchange I am still waiting for that contact a week later.”

“I thought this was going to be something special but am disappointed because it is merely a harness of three parts hyped and overpriced. I do not find it serves its purpose any better than cheaper off the shelf harnesses .”

The idea of the modular design is that, unlike off-the-shelf harnesses, each of the three sections come in multiple different sizes and are interchangeable. This modular design allows us to get a secure and snug fit for almost any size & shape of dog. If you are not pleased with the fit of your harness, please do get in touch with some pictures of your dog in the harness. If necessary, we can send you some alternative pieces to try, free of charge in order to get the best fit for your dog. Alternatively, if you simply do not feel that it meets your needs, we are always happy to take returns of unused items and offer a refund. “Unfortunately my pooch doesn't like the plastic clip at the front,chesty bit, and keeps trying to chew it. He won't give it a rest so i won't be able to keep the harness.I will return it asap.”

“I have spent so much money on various walking aids from head collar,half check collar, and now was recommended this harness unfortunately nothing works this is a good harness but unfortunately my dog still pulls”

Thank you for your feedback, Amanda. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your dog pulling. Although the super soft fleece lining and design of the PerfectFit Harness is often sufficient to encourage a dog not to pull, as there are no more choking sensations around the throat or sharp edges rubbing against its skin, it is not an 'anti-pull' harness as such. It may be helpful to make use of the extra D-ring on the front section of the harness which can be used with a double ended lead for more steering control and can be a helpful tool to use alongside positive reinforcement during loose-lead training.

“It's a great harness, but.....there is a big jump from the largest 2cm fitting to the smallest 4cm fitting. I, and many clients struggle to get something in the middle of these which is frustrating - as I say it's a good harness but have had to use an alternative. Also, I have noticed - as have many clients that the adjustability of the front piece has been removed, again making the sizes restrictive. Is there a possibility of extending the range to fill this game and returning to the adjustable front?”

“For the Harness very pleased with it,fits well allows full movement of shoulders with no restrictions.But the double ended lead has come unclipped on twice now so is a safety issue.would like replacement please.”
