My sale was an empty property, no chain, and was a cash buyer......6 MONTHS!! In comparison at the same time I sold 2 other properties within 2 months with another more capable solicitor. If you want constant stress, incompetent conveyors, lies, and to do most of the work yourself then by all means use PPL.

Shockingly awful… not our solicitors but our buyers. No responses to our estate agents calls/emails for weeks. We’ve been ready to exchange for 5 weeks, but several outstanding enquiries and issues for our buyers. Now needing to complete on our new property without completing our sale, so will face horrendously tight weeks/months until our buyers are ready. Cannot believe this company is still in business.

They were not our solicitors but our sellers’. We have been ready and waiting to exchange for 6 weeks because of PPL’s incompetencies and let’s just say everyone has had enough.

Just before Xmas we felt we had no choice but to pull out due to PPLs lack of urgency, lack of response to emails and phone calls. We were told we could move on the 17th October by our estate agent. They had been told by PPL that the bottom of the chain who was a 1st time buyer had paid his deposit meaning they are ready to exchange contracts. My wife, my son and I had all finished work as were moving out of area to start a new life !!! We have lost 24k between us in lost earning and paid out 2k in fees. They wanted us to arrange early funding from the bank so we could move before xmas but if they failed to do their jobs we would have to pay the money back to the bank with a 10% fee. Thank God we said no as we had zero trust in PPL due to the long line of lies and let downs. The entire chain agreed to move on the 4th Jan but we stipulated the contracts had to be signed before xmas as we were living in a house that we had already moved 80% of our belonging out of. No place to spend xmas !!! SURPRISE SURPRISE they failed to achieve this. Because of the unemployment for 3 months we had now run out of money so had no choices left. They spread lies about us going bankrupt to the chain which we found amusing as the only financial difficulties we were facing was due to their complete and utter incompetence. We are in the process of making a heavy complaint to the Ombudsman and we are also going to be contacting our MP to demand the government introduce regulations which are hugely outdated as these online unprofessional companies now exist. It has taken us this long to start this process due to the pure rage we feel about this company due to the un-necessary extra stress and anxiety to our family.

This is by far the worst legal firm I have ever come across in UK. I have bought a property through their lawyers and have delayed the process by another 6 to 8 weeks. The property lawyer went on holidays without having someone picking their work. hard to get through them and very unprofessional. Stay away. - Delay - Unprofessionalism - Hard to get through to their lawyers/ Bad communication

Appalling service and communication. I wouldn't recommend this company to anybody. Pay a few more pounds and get a reliable, rated service.

Moving/ purchasing a property is stressful enough- if you hire PPL or are unfortunate to have them involved with your purchase/ sale in ANY capacity- be prepared for stress, high blood pressure and the very real probability of your sale / purchase not going through. 6 months these jokers sat on my purchase, and as a result of their incompetence there is a very real prospect of my proposed purchase not going through. They are simply not equipped to deal with cases that may require indemnity policies- unless you have a simple case they cannot or will not complete your purchase. Avoid at all costs- these people need to cease trading immediately.

I eventually moved at the end of September after 6 months of insane stress with this company and it has taken me 3 months to recover enough to write a few words. I could write a book but have no idea where I would begin the experience was so dire. They were simply shocking. If Im being very generous they were totally over whelmed with the amount of work.

It's a shame there isn't a zero score. Absolutely useless on every score. Never return calls (their mailbox us usually full, so that says it all), and if by some miracle you can speak with someone, they have no idea what's going on. Use a local solicitor - yes SOLICITOR, who will be properly trained and know how to treat customers!

Absolutely dreadful. Take ages to reply to emails (and sometimes don't reply at all). Nobody seems to know anything or be able to give any updates on the case. Was told that it would be good to use them as they work for Strike, but everything is so disjointed I might as well be working with someone based on the moon. Avoid.

Avoid this company at all costs Avoid this company at all costs as many others have written. This firm of conveyancing lawyers has delayed sale of our house to the buyer, who was forced to use them by their lender, every step of the way and even today, on the second planned date of completion, exchange has not even taken place and the removal company is sitting outside our house as well as the buyers with their young baby. PPL does not seem to care about the stress and anxiety they are causing people probably because not one particular solicitor/lawyer takes responsibility for one particular sale/purchase. This whole system needs to be overhauled. This company is not fit for purpose.

DO NOT use Premier Property Lawyers (PPL). Both us and our buyers were using them. Our small chain (3 houses) collapsed, here is why: 1. Missing documents and misleading information. A Manager, who we’d trust supervised our case reverted directly to our landlord implying that the “chain is now in jeopardy” because the Landlord did not involve a 3rd party solicitor to obtain a Deed of Variation, requested by PPL “months ago”. In fact, the chain was already in “jeopardy” because the Buyer’s case handler (also represented by PPL), requested to involve the Landlord and a 3rd party solicitor to amend the issue with our Lease at the point when our upper chain was ready to exchange. As soon as we’ve raised our complaints and concerns about the timing of this enquiry being raised (the Lease was available on eWay for the Buyers’ side to review for over 4 MONTHS at this time) - the document has gone missing from our file... At this point we started to question our own sanity. 2. No legal advice. Person you will be working with directly will NOT be a solicitor. Instead, you will be dealing with “case handlers”, who can’t confirm if the Indemnity Policies (potentially crucial to saving the chain, recommended to us by PPL and already drafted) satisfy Buyer’s Lender requirements. Almost 4 weeks wasted trying to obtain simple confirmation regarding the chargeable insurance service they provide - no answer, lots of stress and zero progress to the sale. It’s alarming and wrong to say the least… 3. Poor customer service. Our own client queries – as simple as uploading the paperwork to eWay for transparency reasons, were ignored. As soon as we encountered the problem, we were dropped and left in the dark. Vast majority of our questions remained unanswered, and we felt like we were doing all of the leg work. We knew selling our property through Strike would be a DYI affair, but we did not expect that this would apply to the conveyancing services “provided” by PPL. Even when a 3rd party (our own Vendor’s estate agents and solicitors) tried to complain about the lack of progress, they were told not to get involved as they were “not PPL’s clients”. Based on our experience: If you don’t want to risk wasting your time, money, and losing your sanity, just go with anyone else but avoid PPL if you care about everyone’s health and wealth, because they don’t.

I have no idea how they have any ratings above 1 star. We responded to all queries sent across to our solicitors and were regularly chasing for updates. They then resent queries we had already answered, 6 weeks after our initial response. Deadlines for when our chain wanted to exchange were ignored and we received only updates that they were waiting on responses to queries. These had been sent and our solicitors had even copied in our estate agents so we knew they had been sent. They then raised an issue with the indemnity at the last minute which required us to scramble round to resolve with the council. They then said they hadn't received the mortgage deed from our buyers (now 3 1/2 months after the offer was accepted) which our buyers had sent several times before. They then said they couldn't download it on their system. Our whole chain is about to fall over. As I'm moving from England to Scotland I will have to pay double the solicitors fees everyone else on the chain is paying due to the difference in laws. No one can get through to them or any responses from them in a timely manner. Our solicitor/our buyers/our estate agents all get completely different updates when they finally do get a response. The incompetence and lack of urgency is second to none. Our upwards chain is about to collapse, I will be out thousands of pounds and it all lies with PPL. Never use them and most importantly NEVER accept an offer from a buyer using them.

Why are these people allowed to continue trading? They should be reported to trading standards. I urge anyone who has has left a one star review to do just that. Our experience was truly awful. We actually put the house back on the market because the sale was not progressing. Sold the house in April and completed end of October after completion delayed 3 times through ppl incompetence. DO NOT USE,,, you have been warned!!!!

We initially went with PPL as our vendor was selling through Purple Bricks and they made it seem like using them would be faster. Within a few days we were contacted and asked to sign all kinds of rights waivers due to the fact that the vendor was also using the same firm. Given that you want someone to act on your best interests it is ridiculous to even suggest that buyer and seller use the same firm, let alone framing it as something that would make things easier. When my wife rang up to sack them and say we weren’t comfortable having the same firm as the seller represent us, he said she was overreacting and told her to speak to her husband before making any decisions. Sexist idiot! Needless to say 6 months later our purchase has fallen apart as PPL failed to do what our vendor needed for her onward purchase. For months nothing happened, then we were told there was an issue with the onward purchase. They eventually suggested completion dates but wouldn’t exchange, then multiple dates failed to happen. We were promised the issues were all resolved and we would exchange and complete on the same day in a few days time. The next day Purple Bricks rang us to say the completion wasn’t possible and the sellers onward purchase was likely to not go ahead. The person from PPL who had promised in writing that it would go ahead, they were just waiting for mortgage funds to clear and no issues needed to be resolved, was too pathetic to even contact us himself after his outright lies. We have ended up needing to find a new place to rent as we gave notice to our landlord after PPL made promises that everything would complete. Both us and our seller have missed out on good mortgage rates secured six months ago because of PPL being inept liars, let alone thousands in wasted costs. Avoid like the plague!!! They were going to charge twice as much compared to the real solicitors we replaced them with, who got everything sorted for us in weeks with no fuss. They advised us that they didn’t think PPL could sort out the issue the seller was having, as they have no legal expertise, and they were correct unfortunately. One star is too kind, even if you aren’t using PPL I would be wary of any buyer or seller using them, as they clearly can’t do their job and your deal is likely to fall apart due to their way of working. Thanks for wasting 6 months of our lives and ruining our first purchase that should have been a happy occasion.

I will try and keep this short and sweet. Simply avoid Premier Property Lawyers, as most of the reviews say below they are beyond slow. Fortunately my conveyancer has been pretty good but my buyers conveyancer is simply the most inept solicitor I have come across over the last 10 years buying and selling houses. If you use Premier Property Lawyers and get allocated “Dan/Daniel” run away! These guys sit on enquiries without doing anything with them, I’ve known chickens to sit on eggs for less time! Anyway to keep this short just avoid this company! Even if Purplebricks recommend them simply avoid them at all costs!!

If you want solicitors that take so long to answer enquiries that your 3% Mortgage offer expires and you have to renew it at 6% , then Premier Properties are the ones for you! They will quite happily cost you thousands of pounds in the future due to their lack of urgency to get the job done. I would not reccommend these to anyone if my life depended on it. It’s easy to look at the bad reviews and just think we are angry people and that it won’t happen to you, but trust me it will! It’s not like they are cheap either, i would expect a poor service if i was paying around £1000 but they are charging us more than double that, which is not very ideal with the growing cost of living! No chain on either end yet we still can’t purchase a property inside 6 months, and just to top it off they only reply to 1 out of every 10 emails, so we haven’t had a clue whats even been going on! Honestly just look for a smaller company/independant solicitor that doesn’t take on too much work.
