“I was in the 8 week SAT prep course taught by Miguel and Alex and I thought the class was immensely helpful!! My first practice test, I scored around a 1300, and by the last 3-4 practice tests, I was already scoring 1500s and above very consistently. It definitely pushed my stamina for how long I could focus; I went from struggling to comprehend much for an hour to studying and focusing for 3+ hours at a time!! I think aside from all the conceptual learning done for this class, though, what I loved most was the things we learned strategically and the general learning about mindset, habits, and the like. It taught me most of all, to be kinder to myself, and to believe in the things I can accomplish...and better yet: the actual steps to achieving your goals. I think that was the most valuable part because this course teaches you HOW to learn on top of what to learn. It's a lot of hard work, but I think it's worth every minute! :)”

“Before starting this course, I didn’t think I would actually see score improvements, but surprisingly, my score has improved by more than 200 points overall. Reading and Writing was the area I struggled with the most, but the strategies my instructors, Miguel and Alex, taught me helped a lot. I loved all the different types of materials provided to help me practice my skills, especially the hard math quizzes. Every week, after taking a practice test, I felt more confident in myself because of the improvements I saw. The questions I got wrong would be reviewed in class, which helped me understand why I got them wrong rather than just focusing on the correct answer. I especially liked how Miguel explained why the wrong answer choices were incorrect, instead of solely focusing on the right answer. This strategy has helped me choose an answer when I’m stuck between two options. The strategies in both sections have helped me a lot, and I’ve learned far more than I thought I would compared to my first day.”

“My instructor, Miguel Chavira and Alex Yang were my favorite instructors I ever had in my life. Before my classes, I struggled to get a good score on my SAT Tests. I thought I would not be successful, but thanks to them, I learned a lot on improving my score as well life advice on other tests. Not only did they strategize the tests, but overlooked life lessons while keeping it human. Thank you Mr. Chavira and Mrs. Yang for the amazing weekends I had with you guys and the fun classes we shared. See, a class is not an instructor and a student, but the beauty of many interactions that sharpens the axes of intelligence in one another. Thank you for abiding this by your time and treasure for all of us!”

“I took the 6-week SAT Prep Expert course with Ilia Kolmagorov. This was my second summer studying for the SAT and this summer we went with Prep Expert. I am very grateful for the course. It kept me disciplined through the weekly homework, with all the practice tests, vocab, etc. In addition, I could also see my improvement throughout the summer. The repetition and drilling of everything was incredibly helpful for me. There were also so many great strategies that I feel improved my test taking abilities and understanding of the SAT. I feel a lot more confident going into the official SAT I will be taking in August.”

“My instructors were Miguel + Alex. My score has gone up 200+ points in almost every practice test I’ve done. I liked the fact of the openness of the course my instructor had made it very easy to ask questions where I’ve felt in other classes I’ve felt scared to ask questions. He also was very kind and was clear on homework policies from day 1 which I appreciate. He also taught the tips and explained everything very well. I feel way more prepared now than I have ever been thank you prep expert!”

“I learned so much from Prep Expert. My favorite part of the course was the participation by all the students. At first I thought a 1 on 1 tutoring course would have been more beneficial but after trying both, I can proudly say I‘ve learned more from Prep Expert due to the fact that I also learned from all the students‘ questions. Miguel and Alex were always super responsive and patient with my questions.”

“I took the Prep Expert SAT course with Miguel Chavira and Alex Yang, and it completely transformed the way I approached the SAT. “I had the class with Ilia Kolmagorov. I have not taken the next SAT yet, but I feel much more confident in my ability to get a great score! The course material was palatable and engaging while also being comprehensive and informative. I’m coming out of the class with a better understanding of all types of questions as well as the test itself. I especially appreciated the teacher’s methods for centering oneself and his dry sense of humor! I would highly recommend!”

“Prep Expert is more than just an SAT tutoring agency; it's a community. To start, my teacher, Miguel Chavira, was excellent in the way he taught us, which made us feel more welcome and engaged in the teaching environment. I would also like to say, Prep Expert is just amazing in the tactics and techniques they provide as they helped me improve my score by 220 points through this very high-level program. Overall, I would say Prep Expert is a fantastic community where everyone can feel welcome and accepted while also being able to learn at an extremely high level, which was made simpler by Mr. Chavira. “I had Taylor Trautwein as my tutor. I would personally recommend her as a tutor to kids with a short attention span like me. I have had so many issues in the past with in person tutors and not being able to focus and sit through an hour lesson. The classes depending on what you take are about three hours and I was able to sit through the entire class whilst still being engaged. Taylor was not only engaging but very fun! She makes refrences whilst tutoring and has things such as 'Taylor-Tips' which I had found very helpful. I genuinely enjoyed going to her classes and although an online course - I felt like we had an genuine connection because of her attitude and the way she teaches. Not only that Taylor does respond to questions within chats, she has never missed or skipped over a question I have asked. Which is often an issue with online courses but that has never been the case with taylor. I want to retake a course with taylor again and I hgihly recommend her.”

“As a student juggling busyness and sports, I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course. My instructor, Tessa Gebert, was incredibly engaging and worked through problems with us. She didn’t try and pretend like she knew everything. She genuinely was trying to help us learn as much as possible. I would love to have her as a real teacher. I wish that the course Homework Tab would be more interactive. If a checklist or “remaining assignments” tab was provided that would help me keep up with all my assignments and make sure they are all done in time. I have not taken the SAT again, but I feel confident in the strategies that were taught in this course.”

“I think the course has greatly helped me not only improve my score but help me enjoy the sat more. My teacher was Tessa Gebert and I only have positive things to say. When I first started the course I thought I would have a hard time paying attention and getting bored but I did not once feel like that it was always engaging and whenever we needed to go back over something she was more than helpful. I’ve seen my practice score go up a lot and am very thankful.”

“My instructor Tessa helped raise my score by almost 150 points. My score going into the course was only a 1250 but with all of the helpful strategies and in depth explanations, I was able to get a 1390 on my most recent practice test, which would allow me to get 100% bright futures and pay for my college.”

“I enjoyed this Prep Expert course for 4 reasons. 1. The courses are well paced and easy to follow. 2. My instructor, Miguel Chavira, was well pronounced, easy to follow, and very willing to answer any and all questions. 3. The material is accurate to the real SAT, and will actually help me on the real test. 4. The bonus strategies (25 each) are a big help and go beyond my expectations of "just study the material". Strategies like the "5 Kiss-of-Death" words and time pacing were unexpected but welcome suprises. My original score on the SAT was around a 1250. My most recent SAT practice test was a 1450. a 200 point increase, in just 5 weeks, is INSANE progress. I haven't even started my own studying and I am (hopefully) already going to have a score that sets me well apart from others in the college application pool.”
