“Purplebricks are incompetent and unproffessional at every stage of the sales process.
Once you have paid upfront you are forgotten about.
To put it simply, it will cost you a lot of time, money and hassle and will very likely lead to your sale falling through, being undervalued or needlessly stressful.
They have terrible communication and their app and online portal provide conflicting and incomplete information.
They got the listing wrong, basic things like number of bathrooms. It took a hassle to get it put right.
They changed the Property Sales consultant connected to my property roughly every two weeks and I was often not informed and had no idea who I was dealing with.
They outsourced the viewings to several different companies. This was no better than giving the key to a monkey and allowing them to open the front door and provide no further information.
They do not respond to emails. If you call it will be 20 minutes or more on hold and you will speak to a different person each time.
They do not communicate or respond to prospective buyers.
Avoid at all costs.
I ended up re-marketing with a competent local estate agent who were more expensive but sold the property in two weeks.”

the market was a bit slow at the time so we contacted them and they agreed if we took it of the market we would be able to relist it at a later date at no extra cost.
when we were ready to list it again they refused to honour this and told us we had to pay the full price again and were also very rude.

“Upfront fee regardless of sale. I paid in region of £1k but property didn't sell. I didn't realise they pull the advert after six months. I recall asking about this in my initial consultation and was given a quick ambiguous answer and was given false reassurance that it would undoubtedly sell anyway. I mistakenly thought '6 month marketing period' meant that after 6 months they stopped extras such as premium listing on Rightmove.
I never spoke with my Sales Consultant - each time I called I was told she was on a break and she would never return my call despite giving good times frames that I was free. I would end up asking the initial call handler for advice when needed.
The best communication I had from my Sales Consultant was her emailing me advising that the six month marketing period was over and so I needed to either: 1. pay more money to continue marketing. 2. finish marketing (£1k worse off!) or 3. Tried to give me the details for an auction company.
I would strongly advise people against using Purple Bricks. The risk is too high. I might as well have thrown my £1k in the bin.”
