Ive just had an email from Paul Vickerstaff, paul.vickerstaff@purplebricks.com somebody terribly busy and professional and high up in the estate agents Purplebricks! He informs me that I'm a bit of a silly billy as it's perfectly acceptable and inline with their company's practise for Natalie Alves - sales rep - to text me at 10.45pm Sunday evenings when I'm inbed asleep. And for her not turn up to showings she has booked, even though I paid for her to carry out that service. It's also perfectly fine for her not check out whether the 'buyers' had a mortgage in place (they didn't). Also it's fine to show my 'buyers' around other properties the week we were supposed to be completing and not mention it to us, as she didn't want to 'stress us out' (us being the paying customers and all), and its okay for her to rock up to meet me in her pjyamas and always be on the phone to her bloody husband when I did eventually get to meet her in person!!!!! So here I am feeling a bit foolish as I had completely the wrong expectations of a company who were entrusted with selling my most expensive asset. I publicly apologise to Purplebricks for my ridiculous idea that your sales professional would communicate with me regularly and within socially acceptable hours. I'm sorry I trusted you to check out the mortgage the buyers were supposed to have in place. I realise I was outrageous when I expected you to turn up to all the viewings I'd paid you to do. How could I not see it's fine for your sales team to turn up in their pj's - who needs to get dressed these days? And yes, I should have realised that the blame was all mine if I dared to question your companies ethics or professional behaviours. Sorry for my inexplicably high expectations Purplebricks. You hang on to my money, you deserve it. What would I need with it? I'm just a working single mum with a boy to house and feed and clothe...

Purple Bricks will take your money and not sell you property! I realise that the money most agents charge is not reflected in the service they provide but Purple Bricks is a real scammer. They goal is ‘rake’ customers to get their fee and do COMPLETELY NOTHING afterwards. The facts: 1 When you first contact them they send an agent immediately. They talk to you and take photos of the property. After that they NEVER answer your phone calls or call you back. The local agent in Cornwall - Dominik Sliwa - might even not be a real agent. Just someone sent to do the initial stuff and then all the emails and text messages (highly unprofessional) might be handled by a bot or someone who makes sure you are kept away from them. However, if the agent is authentic, he is highly unprofessional! 2 If you ask to put your payment in instalments they will refuse straight away. Of course, the payments are outsourced therefore Purple Pricks send you there and they send you back. 3 There are penalty fees on every stage. If you want to hire a solicitor of your choice you have to pay. And yo HAVE TO have your own solicitor because the companies they cooperate with will not do anything. Each time I tried to get an update I was told that THEY WERE TERRIBLY BUSY AND DID NOT HAVE TIME FOR ME! 4 The local agent has absolutely zero experience with the local property market. After two failed sales of our property he suggested to go though an auction style sale, which we did, and it turned ou to be detrimental to our sale. I got offensive messages though Purplebricks platform form potential buyers accusing me that I was a a greedy scammer. When I reported that to Purplebricks they did not react. When we decided to go back to a normal sale, we had to pay a penalty even though that was within the statutory 14 days of the cooling off. 5 The cornish agent does not have any experience with directing the clients to the right buyer. He suggested a buyer, one of several who made offers, who pulled out at the last moment with no explanation. He did not run any checks or contact them to make sure they were reliable. He just pointed to a random one to get rid of us. 6 Their sign post was brought and installed in front of our house at night with no prior message. They did not knock on the door to say it was there. A few nights later it was stolen, or maybe just taken down by them and installed in a different property, I do not know. When I let them know about that, they ignored that. 7 The GOTO auction dept Purple Bricks cooperates with is also a very unprofessional and uncooperative. They lowered the price of the property without our consent trying to convince us that was the best way of selling the house. When as a result of the lowered price, the algorithms of Zoopla lowered the value of the property. I complained about it and got a response that I knew nothing about the property market and that was the current trend. After paying the penalty the listing was still kept live for a few days. 8 WARNING! They are not registered with any ombudsman! You have no chance to seek support outside of this Purple Bricks. When I asked for the details of the ombudsman they were registered with, they always sent me a link, which you can google yourself, which will tell you that they were not registered, therefore no chance to complain. When I pointed that it was a fake link, both the complaints dept and Dominik went silent. The only way to get your money back might be through a legal case? However, that would probably have to be a group one. If there are any more clients cheated by Purplebricks I am ready to join them and start that. Please contact me.

They take their money then do no work, half hearted efforts to arrange viewings. Avoid avoid avoid. Once they have your money (even if you opt for pay later) they have it and stop bothering as there is nothing in it for them. Then you get chased for a fee 10 months later, £2200 wasted to market a flat, with nothing to show for it.

No Commission Fee = No Service! I would NEVER use Purplebricks again. Despite the heavy PR and blanket advertising campaigns, No Commission Fee = No Service! Seller beware as the Brilliant reviews (lots of 5 stars), rate the initial marketing but not the sale. PB are just another market disrupter trying to gain market share, as all they do is post pictures of your house on the internet property portals. You do the viewings yourself, so have signed up to pay a company an upfront fee, for the privilege of selling your own house while you work for free! It’s ok if the sale is straightforward but there is no duty of care to identify and resolve issues in the chain before they become a big problem. Lesson learned: this is why you pay commission to a high street estate agent to sell and market your home, as it’s your most valuable asset. PB get paid to list it not sell it, so are not interested in working to get a sale. The Local property experts” (LPE’s) are only incentivised to ensure you sign up and instruct them, and are off chasing new clients. Post sales support and the conveyancing service, who are supposed to handle the legal process, are equally useless. When you can actually get through to them, there are frequently no updates, incorrect names on paperwork and non existent chain management. Booking viewings on and messaging through the app is a nice benefit (when it works). The downside is the simplicity means lots of viewers were either time wasters looking for a day trip out (or tyre kickers), not serious buyers with property to sell or even on the market. After accepting offers we had to chase to get updates on the status of the chain and despite warning it would break because of slow progress it did as buyers pulled out. The buyers who did make offers we accepted were obviously not vetted for affordability (despite the LPE advising us they were in the best position to proceed), as they also pulled out weeks after outbidding all others so were not committed to buying. This leaves you embarrassingly unable to proceed with houses you have made offers on and had them accepted, as you have had the legs cut out from under you with no notice, on the app, or phone call, just a text! I have cut my losses (in survey costs, search fees and time), and gone on to instruct a local high street estate agent, which we should have done in the first place. One to be avoided at all costs!

Please do yourself a HUGE favour and do not use to sell in London. I am in the middle of a huge complaint with our purplebricks experience and I would strongly recommend not getting sucked in by the cheap costs of Purplebricks, they are crooks and you must AVOID. I also left this review on Trustpilot, and Purplebricks have reported it saying I have been contacted to authenticate and I didn't reply, which is an outright lie! I have a coplaint open with them which they are about to pay out on, please read below before using them: A quick summary of the issues I came across in my sale and I have now sadly left them to go with another agent as they are bone idle and my buyer fell through. - They left my door unlocked over 5 times, which I pleaded with them to stop doing which they ignored and continued to do so - They told me many times that there were "no shows" for viewers no showing, only for clients to leave feedback telling me they were waiting outside the property for up to half an hour and nobody showed up (And to think I paid £400 for this service of PB doing the viewings is sickening) - The main gripe, honestly, this is no exaggeration, my local property "expert" didn't answer his mobile ONCE in 13 months. It was always voicemail and I would have to wait up to 3 days for a callback sometimes on his terms with every excuse under the sun given. Imagine how frustrating this is for viewers? Concerning. - When telling my new agent about the issues with PB, they advised a colleague of theirs knows our Local Property Expert and rumoured that my LPE used to go away on golf days when he was supposed to be working, or playing xbox in his flat all day sometimes - this really wouldn't surprise me, nobody is watching them so they are their own bosses it seems - Never replies to messages and crucial queries - Breached their contract in more ways than 1, including never once discussing the performance of my flat and it's performance, honestly I have NO idea what my local property expert did - The person doing my viewings did live locally and could conduct viewings initially. However, she was fired (which she called me up to tell me about by the way, and expressed her dislike for the company and boss, which was extremely unprofessional) and then the person doing my viewings was moved to an employee in North London :S I live in Greenwich, how is this feasible? Funnily enough, after this, my viewings plummeted, wonder why.. they can't be bothered to get in the car and drive here. Honestly, you have to avoid people, It's been a horribly stressful year and they never take responsibility for any of their actions, still not received 1 apology to date and I made all the above clear to them in our contact, they wriggle and worm there way out of any criticism and it will drive you insane. AVOID.

This company is an absolute joke…..AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It has taken me a few months to write this review after all the trauma they caused me. We lost my Dad very suddenly when he collapsed and died within less than 24 hours leaving my 76 year old Mum completely lost and lonely having being married for nearly 60 years and us both completely devastated. My Mum lived 100 miles away and she wanted to be near me and she had no friends and family where she was so we decided within a few months of my Dads passing to sell her Park Home and buy a little flat near me. This is is where the trauma started because of Purple Bricks. We made the biggest mistake choosing Purple Bricks but like a lot of people were initially impressed by their marketing and Tv ad…..I just wish I had done more googling of reviews before we chose them. The agent turned up and done the valuation and initially was very pleasant so we went ahead, paid our money upfront and then waited…it then became obvious he had never sold a Park Home as they are sold completely different to a normal house (even though he told us he sold loads!) and when finding buyers for us (which were not many) hardly any fell into the criteria needed to purchase the property so we went through a lot of stress with this……not what we needed when we were grieving. After many disappointments and 4 months of it being on the market (with very little communication from our agent in the process) a strong interested party came along who needed to sell their property before being able to buy Mums. So they were conned by the same agent who encouraged them to sell too through PB…..they then experienced the same problems as us….a buyer was found quickly within a few hours for their property who we were initially told was a cash buyer (which is what we needed too) so we all went ahead with the sale. However it then transpired their buyer was actually an investor who needed a buy to let mortgage through his company…the PB agent said this would be sorted quick….it took another 7 months of utter stress! We received hardly any communication for months so had no idea what was going on with the other two parties as we didn’t need to use a solicitors for the sale of the Park Home…..so when I tried to chase and ask for updates (and yes I was emotional due to the lack of information) as we were getting threatened by our sellers that we may lose mums flat….the agent accused me of making the sale more stressful because I kept calling him! He had ZERO empathy for me and Mum and our grieving (he even went off the radar for a while as he lost his dog and was devastated….yet he didn’t care about us having lost a husband and parent). He made me feel like a piece of dirt at the bottom of his shoe. After nearly 10 months of the worst stress I have ever experienced we eventually sold and Mum got her money and we were able to buy the flat. I just wish I had chosen a High Street Estate Agent as a lot of this stress hopefully would have been avoided…..I will NEVER recommend Purple Bricks ever….AVOID, AVOID,AVOID!

Under no circumstances should anyone ever use Purplebricks. We have had a very unhappy experience with them and feel we have been lied to, misled and deceived by this company. Once you sign their contract they lose interest as they will get their money regardless of whether they sell your property or not. It is a con. Our so called expert managed to initiate very few viewings, left the company without telling us and was rude and dismissive when we asked for an explanation for the lack of viewings. They do not communicate, lack any customer service and are unprofessional.

BEWARE PURPLE BRICKS. Quite possibly the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I will not go into their appalling customer service as will only be duplicating thousands of other reviews As I said beware. If you opt for the pay on sale and completion option don’t you dare take your property off the market with them however dissatisfied you are with the service you receive. If you do the fee will be taken by the financial company they sell the debt too as soon as an offer has been received whether you accept it or not, within 7 days. They do send an e mail telling you this is going to happen and offering an easy payment option over 12 months but whatever you do don’t miss the e mail. I did miss said e mail, the payment was taken and that left me unable to pay my own mortgage for that particular month (the property I am selling I inherited from my late parents). I contacted the financial company explained the situation and asked whether they could refund the fee and let me revert to the easy payment option. No chance. No understanding no flexibility no help no option to speak to a manager, nothing. The payment was taken in accordance with the service agreement so despite the fact I have been placed in serious financial difficulty and will have to default on my mortgage no help available. Not illegal but highly unethical especially in these difficult times. So if you are selling a property go to any traditional estate agents or even Bodge it and Sod Them before Purple Bricks. Something really needs to be done about the business practices of this appalling company.

Worst company I ever had to deal with. I listed my house with them because the agent seemed very active and witty. The second I listed the house, the agent disappeared. Despite multiple messages and calls, he never replied. We had no viewings or messages about the house for over a month. We then listed it someone else and sold straight away. Seriously, avoid!

can honestly say I would never use purple bricks again, yes there cheaper but you definitely get what you pay for. I sold my house with purple bricks (David beagley) he came to the house, valued my property and I instructed him to put it on the market, that was the last I ever heard from purple bricks, not one single phone call, message, nothing, I completed my house move on Wednesday without any contact from purple bricks at all. David never got back to any of the other estate agents that tried to call him about offers on my home, which ment I lost out on a house I loved. I would not recommend anyone to use purple bricks, they take ur money and run, I've still not heard a thing from anyone, I'd never use them again.

If you are buying from someone who is selling via Purple Bricks, think twice. This is my true experience as a buyer. The local property expert was terrible at communication and even when I stated I wanted to make an offer on the property it took days for them to get back to me. Their Purple Bricks solicitor partner (Premier Property) was incompetent and slow, taking 2 or more weeks to reply at every stage. They added 4 or more weeks on to the process. They required constant chasing to perform the simplest of tasks. They provided incorrect documents or incomplete information including documents completely unrelated to the transaction relating to another person’s property purchase. When I raise all of these issues with the Purple Bricks local property expert they tried to blame my own solicitor, and even stated that it was my solicitor’s responsibility to continually chase for action, rather than Premier Property’s responsibility to provide updates on anything. The Purple Bricks local property expert also provided contradictory reasons for the delays meaning some of the information provided was an outright lie. Everything was slow, hard to get a response, required continual chasing, required extra effort to correct errors, and ended with the whole process falling through for the buyer (me), and the seller. Simply put, if you are buying a house, think twice if the seller is using Purple Bricks. And if they are using Purple Bricks in-house solicitor Premier Property, avoid them at all costs.

Buyers & Sellers BEWARE... As a potential buyer I've had a bad experience with PB. I am a FTB & fortunate enough to have a very good deposit & a mortgage in principle agreed. However my experience with PB, has been jaw dropping bad. This includes multiple viewing requests being cancelled repeatedly by different agents, with no apology & agents being totally inflexible in meeting my availability to view. Thus ultimately leading me to give up after multiple attempts. Example, I messaged & chased 1 agent for a response to view a property about 4 to 5 times but was ignored or left on read & never contacted back. Another example, I have been given incorrect information by both viewing & managing agent, concerning the same property, which I had an interest to offer on. This includes information concerning service charges, the sellers position & willingness to negotiate & other important questions concerning the property. I only know this, as i did my homework & checked things out with local residents who happened to have valuable information. Agents have also been rude & arrogant, not returned my calls, left me on read & not bothered to pass my offer onto the seller or get back to me, leading me to give up. I have also been told by agents that I was unable to do a second viewing on a property unless I was making an offer & 2nd viewings were only allowed to those who put an offer in & wanted to do measurements etc. Bizarre! I have never ever encountered anything like it. Agents also seemed poorly informed on some of the basic info, they need to be equipped with, when buyers posed questions. They seem to lack interest or knowledge, don't give you a reasonable amount of time to view a property or explain things, lie & are unwilling to put any effort in. I have been put off them as a buyer & would never ever use them as a seller. I have been left worn out by how difficult they make a viewing experience & cannot trust them to tell me & probably the seller, the truth. If sellers only knew how awful the experience Is with PB & how many potential buyers they have lost as a result of PB, they would think again about wanting to sell their property through them. If its this bad an experience at viewing stage I can't imagine how awful it would be getting to completion with them. they lack any kind of professionalism & integrity & are absolute cowboys. There may well be some agents out there who are good. However, given the experience I have had with several different agents, before I've even got to view some properties & after viewing, the majority are clearly not! I honestly cannot see how they get any glowing reports. It could be that they ask you to submit reviews online & ask you to include thier full name in the review, as I had been asked to. I am very much about sharing excellence. However, I cannot say somthing was good when it really wasn't or barely scraped below average. I have to be true to myself & share the truth from my perspective about the experience I have had, so that others are educated & well informed about PB. I honestly don't know how they get away with the way they behave...its shocking....Therefore buyers & sellers be beware! they lack any kind of professionalism & integrity & are just cowboys.

Unfortunatly cant leave zero stars!! Here is my review from Trustpilot which was removed after a complaint from purplebricks, it appears they dont like bad reviews... Totally useless Totally useless. I was a cash buyer looking to view a property, they cancelled two viewings i had booked. Months after I have found and moved into another property the one I wanted to view is still for sale and I am constatntly being spammed with email messages about it. When you want to delete your account it is not straightforward as it should be and I had to go through live chat, i will see if that has worked or not next week. I would hate to be a seller dealing with these people, I wonder how many sellers are missing chances for a sale because of this. Had to repost the review as purplebricks didn't like it and had it removed. Property has still not sold. https://www.purplebricks.co.uk/property-for-sale/3-bedroom-detached-house-walpole-st-peter-wisbech-860317

paid upfront fee, was on the market with them for 3 months and had 3 viewings. not easy to contact and just didnt seem to be interested once they were paid. They had our fee so sell or not they have been paid. Went with a real estate agent and had almost a dozen viewings within the same period, the incentive being no sale no pay with a real estate agent. would not recommend purple bricks to my worst enemy.

It started off well , hence the one star but after over one year on the market with not one single offer we finally gave up with them and counted it as life experience ... one not to be repeated. They rely too heavily on website advertising and their app, which is a complete and utter pain plus kept giving us wrong information. The final straw was 4 changes of people looking after our sale and 2 failed last ditch open days. We finally saw sense and went with a proper estate agent, 6 weeks with Mansell McTaggart 2 offers with one excepted, think that says it all! You definitely get what you pay for and we would not recommend them.
