Did not rent the car because car rental agency was seriously understaffed and not able to timely process car rentals. But could not get a refund from Rentalcover. I do NOT recommend using this company.

I had original rental car insurance through Sure.com got $29.95 for 2 days. Wanted to extend the rental. Contacted Sure and somehow redirected me to rental cover com. I filled out my info including card number but never clicked submit. Now I have 2 charges for $24 and no way to contact these smucks. Total rip off.

Unable to complete submission of claim We rented a car in Chile at the end of October and purchased coverage from RentalCover.com - when we returned the car the windshield had a couple of small stone chips which we paid for. I have just attempted to submit the claim online, I gave all the info and attached all the documentation required but when I clicked 'SUBMIT' the box went grey and the message 'YOUR INFORMATION IS BEING SENT PLEASE WAIT' was displayed...I waited...for TWO hours and nothing changed. I tried without success to find a phone number to call and have sent them an e-mail but so far no response. This company is bad.

SCAMMERS!!! I purchased an insurance coverage from RentalCover.com for our Avis rental this summer and was involved in an accident in Montenegro. The other driver was at fault and I had all the police documents and protocols confirming that the other driver was responsible for the accident. I was (fairly) charged nearly $1400 USD by Avis upon returning the damaged vehicle and launched a claim with RentalCover.com. After collecting all the requested documents which in itself was quite the effort, I then had to wait for weeks for them to make a ruling on my case. After emailing them repeatedly I was told by Melissa (Customer Success Manager) that RentalCover won’t be able to compensate me and that instead I should file a chargeback dispute with my bank against Avis on the grounds that I don’t recognize the damage. I never got any explanation why they won’t fulfill their obligation as an insurance company and reimburse me for the damage charges. I’m attaching a screenshot of Melissa’s reply as reference. In my opinion that’s pure fraud: 1. I’m being told to lie to my bank about damages that I don’t recognize (clearly the car was returned damaged so how can I dispute the damages)?? 2. I have a full insurance coverage from RentalCover.com so they’re responsible for reimbursing me for the damages instead of referring me to the bank Their communication is absolutely dreadful – you have to submit emails and wait for weeks to get a reply. After putting my trust in RentalCover and losing my time and money, I would highly recommend avoiding this company!

DO NOT use Rentalcover.com. It's a scam site to take your money. We bought the insurance thinking we'd be covered, got in a small accident, provided all the necessary paperwork - and they immediately responded saying they couldn't read the paperwork provided. The paperwork was re-uploaded and 3 follow up emails were sent to them. They ignored all of them. Rentalcover.com is a SCAM site. Use them at your own peril.

Sorry to say this, but this insurance is a waste of your many. During my trip, I had 3cm parking scratch. The rental company charges me 400$ and I open a claim hopping to receive the money-back.What was my surprise when RentalCover refuse it with the excuse that we breach contract with rental company by not going to the local police Cannot believe that for 3cm scratch I should make some police report? For me, this looks like the company looks for a reason not to pay.

We were in an accident abroad and after RentalCovers reviewed our claim for 6 weeks, it then denied it because we breached our rental agreement by getting in a car accident. Isn't that the entire purpose of insurance? When we asked how that was a breach of the rental agreement, they couldn't come up with an answer so they made up a new reason for denial. They said we "neglected the vehicle" by getting in a car accident. Clearly they are just making up reasons to deny claims. Don't waste your money on this fake insurance policy,

Do Not use this company for insurance! We purchased our rental car insurance from them and when arrived at our destination to pick up our car were informed that this insurance policy was invalid. They also said they have done this to other customers. When trying to resolve this issue they refused to reimburse me and said the car rental agency was trying to sell us their policy. However, the car agency did NOT even mention or offer us a policy. Buyer be aware!

I bought insurance for a car rental in May and was told it would be accepted by the rental company. It was not. I had to purchase insurance from Budget when I picked up the car. I have submitted a request for refund from RentalCover.com and followed up twice with no response. They do not have a telephone number on their web site and email address is my only way to contact them. I will NEVER do business with them again.

I never usually leave negative comments for products or services but I feel that it is appropriate in this case. Please be aware that if you plan to use RentalCover for insurance then you are taking a risk as their internal claims process is extremely disorganised. They recently ambushed me with a £400 bill relating to a non-fault claim I had understood to be settled. They somehow managed to allow the rental car franchise to reimburse me for damages (without my knowledge) as well reimbursing me themselves. This wouldn’t have been a problem if they told me at the time, but instead they waited 2 years before acting. So it seems that even though I purchased insurance to avoid incurring an unexpected bill, RentalCover’s incompetence actually guaranteed that I got one. My advice is save yourself some hassle and don’t use them.

Dear Chris, Thank you for your recent communication in respect of the communication you recently had with RentalCover.com. We understand that you are dissatisfied with our recent request and you believe that we should have made this request at a sooner point. As we are independent of the suppliers which provide the rental vehicles, we are not privy to correspondence or information transfer between the customer and the rental companies themselves, which does make it difficult to predict at which point refunds or charges have been made. We appreciate that this request may have come to you as a shock, but one of the Claims Managers will be in touch shortly to explain this in more detail for you. Best regards RentalCover.com

This insurance company sneakily added in their coverage when I booked a car from a rental website that is was linked to. When I noticed the charges, I immediately requested a refund which till now have yet to receive any money back.

Hi there, At RentalCover.com we work with a number of car rental partners who sell our policies when you book from their site. They offer it so you can decide whether you want to take Full Protection for your rented vehicle or not. Please contact your rental partner directly for support. We are not able to cancel any policies purchased via a partner’s website, unfortunately. Many thanks. The Team at RentalCover.com

I bought rental car insurance through RentalCover.com, as it they were linked via Booking.com, where I rented my rental vehicle from for a trip to Sicily 3 weeks ago. However, upon picking up my rental car at the airport, I was coldly told by the rental car company clerk that RentalCover.com's policy would not be insuring my vehicle, and that any damages or theft sustained by the rental car would need to be paid for through my own pocket. This was not made clear by RentalCover.com prior to my arrival in Sicily. The fact that the rental car company in question - Europcar - didn't acknowledge a working relationship with RentalCover.com, despite the latter claiming online to provide requisite insurance coverage for their vehicles, is unacceptable to consumers, let alone potentially illegal. I have asked for RentalCover.com to reimburse my credit card account completely for all costs sustained in taking out their false car rental insurance coverage policy, yet they refused said reimbursement request, claiming yet again that I was indeed covered by their insurance plan during said rental period. RentalCover.com thus engages in false advertising, as stating upfront that rental car companies would not be abiding by their claimed coverage plans … would apparently affect RentalCover.com's soliciting and marketing efforts online.

Hi Ian, Thanks for submitting your review. We always want to improve our service so your feedback is invaluable. There's seveeral things that you've raised, so hopefully the following helps shine some light. Firstly, we do not work with the rental companies. As outlined in our Rental Guides (https://www.rentalcover.com/car-rental-insurance) and all of our emails, RentalCover.com is an independent alternative to the rental companies. We do not work with them - Europcar etc often tell the customers incorrect information so that they cancel our policy and instead pay twice as much for their waivers. Please contact Booking.com - we allow all our partners to give refunds after collection for this exact reason. We hope this helps resolve the issue for you and we hope that you continue to use us when you next book a car rental. Regards The team at RentalCover.com

Customer beware! If you have a claim, you (the customer)will be fronting all repair costs. Then you get to go through the painstaking process of gathering the required documentation and dealing with the rental car agency on your own. Good luck, you're going to need it!

Hello Darren, Thank you for your feedback. We've had a quick look to your claim which was submitted online on 21/Apr/2019 further to your rental completed on 3/Apr/2019. After our Claims Team reviewed your submission, they sent you the 1st email asking for the missing document in order to finalise your claim assessment on 23/Apr/2019. 2nd email for the same sent on 25/Apr/2019. Your acknowledgement also received on the same day that you're seeking the required document with your rental company. Your email with the extra document was received today 10/May/2019 about 6 hours ago. As our insurance work in Paid and Claim basis, customers have to provide the required documentation in order for the claim being assessed smoothly. Customers do have the right to request all these with their rental company as they are directly dealing with the rental company. But in contrast, very often when we request with the rental company on customer behalf will be rejected due to customer data privacy. Thank you again for your feedback and our claims team will get back to regarding your claim accordingly, thanks. Regards, The RentalCover.com Team

Hi everybody, please do not trust this layer company. They are doing their best to decline claim. Once they paid my claim hardly but I thought that this is good company and bought 4 insurance packages from them for my upcoming rentals. But just yesterday they declined me and I will copy their email below. They always can answer you like that and they do not need explain the reason to anybody. In the claim process one of their employee told me that my rental agreement is not accaptable for them. I can show that remtal agreement to everybody whom it is interesting. It is standard agreement of local rental company. I cancelled all my existing insurances which bought from them previously and have not get their cancellation confirmatons already 2 days. So be carefully with them nd always know that they can decline your claim without any reason, just they want and that's it.

Hi Tigran, We appreciate customers sharing their experience with us. As mentioned in our different emails, RentalCover.com does not accept documents leading to fraudulent claims. Our Compliance Manager gave you all the details of the reasons why it has been stated as a fraudulent claim after a deep investigation. The fact of having 2 claims on a row is not the reason for the decision. Please refer to our emails. May you have any other question, please get in contact with us by email. Thanks.
