Beware this company is a scam, i hired a car in New Zealand and unfortunately a truck threw up a stone cracking the windscreen, when i approached the rental car company they told me they did not recognise Rentalcover .com as an insurance company and then asked for $2500 excess as i had no insurance with them, ended up replacing the windscreen at my cost, i can see from emails received i am wasting my time trying to get this cost refunded Keep Clear Folks

So many negative reviews must be interpreted as a giant RED FLAG. They are simply con artists. Do NOT trust or use any services offered by rentalcover. I wish I had the sense to go into this page before purchasing the "full coverage" scam they sold me. Do not throw away your money, they will disown you and make everything they can to avoid reimbursements

What a nightmare. Buyer beware, your car rental company may not accept this insurance and you'll end up having to pay double at the counter. There is no real customer service either. DO NOT BUY!

Don't use Rentalcover.com, they are a scam. I made a booking through Rentalcars.com, and subsequently cancelled. However, was still charged $120 from Rentalcover.com within minutes of the booking, despite cancelling. Rentalcars.com say you need to contact Rentalcover.com. Of course you cannot contact them other than via online email and they don't answer your question but send you some badly worded automated message and direct you back to Rentalcars.com. What a scam. Don't give up though, if enough of us continue to fight for justice, this lot can be put out of business.

Never give them your e-mail!! I have tried for a very long time to unsubscribe from the RentalCover mailing list - I simply cannot understand why their unsubscribe system does not work!!! Every time the same message: "You will no longer receive any e-mails from us". I have also sent an e-mail directly to "sales@rentalcover ... " - NO response. Therefore, my clear advise: If you do not like spam-mail, junk-mail, etc. NEVER EVER give them your e-mail address. You will regret it. They deserve ZERO stars.

Took out a policy in August 2019 to cover a vehicle rental as I was concerned about the number of exemptions in the hire company's rental agreement. I felt reassured that rentalcover.com's policy had very few exemptions. Unfortunately we were involved in life-threatening accident which led to the car being written off. Rentalcover.com's policy covered us up to $100,000 so we were initially relieved we had purchased additional insurance and their policy clearly covered our claim. This relief was short-lived. Rentalcover's communication was absolutely appalling. They took weeks to reply to emails. There was no contact number and they refused to provide one. They refused to speak directly with the hire company regarding the claim. They showed zero compassion or empathy. After 4 months they refused to pay the claim then proceeded to ignore us when the hire company started pursuing legal action against us. They essentially left us to fend for ourselves against the hire company because this wasn't a simple $500 excess claim. I eventually complained to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) who agreed that Rentalcover.com were responsible in full for the claim and also awarded us $2000 in non-financial losses. Even then it took over a month and multiple threats from the rental companies lawyers for them to pay even though they are bound by AFCA's determination to settle the claim. Do not trust this business, please use a reputable insurer!

This Insurance cover is a scam. I paid 65€ for a coverage that the rental car company was not agreed with. At the rental desk, they were not agreed with that insurance and I had the choice to take no insurance or a full insurance for 120€. I lost my money here - I highly not recommend that insurance coverage company - you paid for nothing. Brice from Belgium - 29/07/2020

Their web page won't allow me to file a claim and all the phone numbers are automated and will not connect to a real support person.

I bought an insurance for a mobile home I rented and had an accident. Now I am trying to make a claim to Rentalcover but for some strange reason I cannot log in. The web site says that my email is invalid. That email address is the same as on the invoice from the company and insurance certificate, which were by the way both sent to that particular email address. Since the login is not working I have almost no way of contacting the company. No customer support(without logging in). There is a considerable amount at stake and I demand a reply.

I am so devastated by what happened when I booked my rental car online for a week in my hometown of Auckland .. when I completed the booking for a really cheap deal on a car, a window popped up about insurance and I purchased it thinking it was in addition to my deal with the rental company. When I completed the transaction another window popped up explaining it wasn’t part of the car rental company, but was RentalCover.com .. I contacted them by email immediately and requested an immediate refund and they declined me! They said I could have a credit. When I picked up my rental car today I had to buy another insurance policy with the company so as not to incur the $2,500 excess if I had an accident or incurred damage. In case of any incident I would have to pay the excess to the rental car company and then try to claim it from RentalCover.com, but I’m a beneficiary and have no money. I use a credit card but only ever have a few hundred dollars credit available so I can’t take that risk. I am so upset because I can’t afford two insurance policies and I think it’s dreadful of RentalCover.com not to refund me and to use trickery on the website in the first place! They should clearly state who they are but they don’t. I think they are dishonest doing this and they ruined what could have been a good experience. I’m back in Auckland to look after my 2 nieces who both have Downs Syndrome so now I have less credit available to use for them. Sad but I will still make sure my nieces are happy this week.

Please stay away as its not replacement for full insurance that you would normally get from rental companies. If you have damage, you will spend weeks sending documents and providing proof for your claim. If you are lucky to get any claim paid out, it will take weeks.

I bought the insurance cover($110) when I booked a car from Rental cover. I came to know the insurance of supplier($43) was far cheaper than what rental cover has charged me. If I buy insurance from a supplier, I do not have to pay the excess($4200). However, after having an accident, I had to pay the excess as I did not buy insurance from a supplier and it was 4200 NZD. When I submitted a claim, it's been more than 2 weeks and the rental cover is saying they need to get the refund from the supplier, only then they can give me my money back. I am literally begging for my own money from them.

They are a true scam. I bought full coverage with them for a rental car in Portugal, as a consequence I did not pay for zero deductible at the car rental company desk. Unfortunately I had an accident with the vehicle, which led me to pay the full deductible of €1500. I Immediately contacted RentalCover for reimbursement of this value. After they asked for all the documents about the rental and the accident including the receipt of the deductible I paid, they then said they could not reimburse me without seeing the invoice for the repairs done to the vehicle! Of course I didn't have that invoice! this is internal business of the rental car company. In summary, if you buy insurance from rentalcover, you are throwing your money away. To me they are frauding customers.

I am 30 days past my claim, already paid to the car agency for the car damage and sent invoice, bank transfer and all the documents i had to RentalCover. RentalCover keep asking for additional documents and will not discuss directly with the car rental agency. I am stuck between two companies and i doubt i will ever see the car repair charge refunded by RentalCover. Bottom line - i recommend to pay the additional 50$ for the car rental agency and do the insurance there. The money saving via RentalCover doesn't worth the cost in health.

they are a scam ! Try canceling for the refund they promise. Their site won't even take the reference # I was issued. Nor will they email you with instructions to overide the reference # as they say they will. Their phone line is always busy so don't even try calling them. I just lost$109 to them. I hope they rot in Hell !
