“Overall: We had a lovely time. We primarily used the villa as a stopping point for lots of day trips around the area - and didn't spend many days just relaxing here. It would be nice to take advantage of the surroundings and amenities. Enjoyed Most: Location. The outside pool and tennis court areas are really great. It would be fantastic in the summer months as a relaxing retreat. Enjoyed Least: It was a bit tricky to find and a bit isolated. We had some confusion related to the heat in the villa - and it was cold! We got it corrected, but it was a challenge. Surrounding Area: Close to Lucca. Near Florence for day trips. We spent 2 days in the Cinque Terre. Nearby Events or Locales: Orentano is the town. Technically you could walk here - but in reality, no. The road for the villa is long, narrow and very muddy. Tips or Restaurants: Make sure you ask questions and understand how to operate the heat if you are here in the fall and winter months. English is a bit of a challenge for communication. Directions: We drove in from the opposite direction than your instructions - and had some issues finding the villa. Once we got on the correct side of town (Orentano), we were able to find it. The GPS coordinates didn't really help (we ended up in a sunflower field our first try).”

“Overall: Very enjoyable. Enjoyed Most: Very quiet. It felt remote even though it was quite accessible and close to two towns. Enjoyed Least: The beds were hard. Smoke in first upstairs bedroom from the living room fireplace. Surrounding Area: Beautiful countryside and easily accessible to main roads and many sites. Nearby Events or Locales: Orentano was the closest town, but wouldn't consider it walking distance to go for a meal or shopping. In comfy shoes and in daylight it would be a nice walk. Tips or Restaurants: We had a wonderful meal at La Benito in Orentano Da Vito was also good. We found a great local, small grocery store and Altopascio and we loved the bakery.”

“Overall: Very much enjoyed the facilities and location. Corte 1 boasted four large bedrooms for just two couples, but it felt luxurious to be able to take advantage of all the space--and we did. The central location made day trips to Florence, Lucca, Pisa, etc perfect. Enjoyed Most: Space, space, space! Enjoyed Least: I was going to say hard beds, but I think the kitchen could benefit from a real oven or convection microwave. We ate in most nights having ravaged local markets for some of the finest food stuffs we've ever experienced. It became a challenge to do it full justice in that kitchen, but we managed. Surrounding Area: Small quiet towns where you could truly get into the local culture. And everyone was so kind, in spite of our inability to speak Italian. Thankfully some knew enough English or French for us to do what we wanted. Nearby Events or Locales: Orentano. Yes--you could walk if you were dumb enough to want to challenge Italian drivers regarding who had the right of way. So we got in our car to make it a fair fight. Tips or Restaurants: This place had everything we needed, including a good two days of provisions. We brought some spice packs suited to our tastes which could have been purchased there but unless we wanted to carry back or leave behind would have been a waste. Directions: No GPS coordinates, which would have been very, very useful. The address could not be found on our GPS. Also their street sign, which is critical to finding the driveway, is hidden behind another sign.”

“Overall: We had a great time. Vanessa was marvelous and always very sweet and helpful. We felt very cozy in our unit. It was located centrally to most of Tuscany, and Umbria and it was easy for us to do day trips from there to some wonderful places, as well as Cortona. Enjoyed Most: The location was great and cozy and warm. Like being home. The grounds and swimming pool were beautiful, the place was clean and well maintained. Thanks for instantly replacing the coffee maker. The view of Cortona out of the back windows was terrific. Vanessa made every thing easier and she was wonderful. Enjoyed Least: Although the kittens on site were cute, since we are very allergic to cats, we had to also keep the door closed. It would have been better if there were a few more kitchen items. Limited items like wine glasses, teaspoons etc. We had difficulty finding what was what on the TV and once in a while found English speaking channels, but couldn't seem to get back to them each time. Surrounding Area: It was beautiful. All the agriculture in the area was amazing. Of course the access to wonderful food and wine in Tuscany and Umbria was awesome. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town was Camucia which is just a mile from Cortona. Neither would be reasonably within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: It is necessary to have a car unless you want to cab every day to Cortona. Bring mosquito repellent, as the country setting is full of them. There is a washing machine, but no dryer. Directions: We had a GPS. Check In Out: Check in and Check out went smoothly because of Vanessa (she was great!!!)”

“Overall: Apartment was well equipped and well positioned in Paris. Enjoyed Most: The apartment was well equipped with kitchen utensils, pans, etc., bathrooms had hairdryers, etc. Enjoyed Least: Need opaque window coverings in living room to insure privacy at night. Surrounding Area: Close to the subway, Notre Dame area, etc. Tips or Restaurants: One comment is that it would be nice if they would add small trash cans in bathrooms so guests do not have to take trash through the house to put in the only trash can in the kitchen. Small annoyance, but still an annoyance. Directions: Cab driver found it easily.”

“Overall: Great location and terrific views. The unit had WiFi, which was a nice surprise. It's easy to get around and all Bellagio restaurants are right there. We would for sure go back! Enjoyed Most: Location and size. Enjoyed Least: Bathroom small. Surrounding Area: All of it! Nearby Events or Locales: Bellagio--it's right in the heart! Directions: Don't need a car once there unless you plan on going all over. There are plenty of ferries and bus stops.”

“Overall: Very good. Best part was the manager's introduction to the apartment and to Florence, complete with a personalized map showing location and nearby restaurants, etc. Enjoyed Most: Spacious, well-appointed, in excellent location - close enough to walk to nearly all major sites (we're all in our 60s and not in great shape) but far enough to avoid noise etc of center city's tourist area. Enjoyed Least: Second bathroom was very narrow. Difficult for two large men to negotiate, but the larger bathroom has less room in shower. Surrounding Area: Relatively quiet residential area with supermarket, restaurants, dry cleaner, numerous coffee bars, etc. Good for stays over 1 week. Tips or Restaurants: Liked Barrino on Via Ghoberti. Coop and Conad supermarkets nearby and easy to use. Loved coffee shop at corner of Vias Bruno and Ammirato. Check In Out: Best part of stay was property manager's introduction to area.”

“Overall: Perfect. Exactly what we were looking for in an apartment. Enjoyed Most: Location. Location. Location. Enjoyed Least: Is was, however, right on a thru street for the island. As a result, lots of traffic noise. Surrounding Area: Everything we wanted was within walking distance: wine store, bakery, grocery store, cheese shop, and a dozen+ quaint restaurants. Nearby Events or Locales: It sat in the center of Paris. Everything was within walking distance. That's why we chose it. Tips or Restaurants: An umbrella in April.”

“Overall: There were seven people in our party which included two kids, ages 11 and 13. The pool was a major attraction for them. We had the two apartments in the back of the property which served our group well for our daily activities and cooking. Enjoyed Most: The quiet and the central location to most of the hill towns we visited. Enjoyed Least: The lighting in both apartments was dimmer than we are accustomed to. Surrounding Area: We found amenities, restaurants, and the hill towns of Umbria. Nearby Events or Locales: Ramazzano, yes, it was within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: One person in our group took a cooking class in Perugia and had a very good experience. The propery offers a guide with information about all of the hill towns, shopping, and other tourist information that may be needed. Directions: Used a GPS by Garmin. We had to turn around several times before finding it. Check In Out: We did not experience any significant problems, but oriention to the facilities was provided by the property manager who spoke excellent English and was very helpful.”

“Enjoyed Most: The view and size of the property. Enjoyed Least: Parking was a small problem since the lot is short about two parking spots when full and is unlit at night. There were also thin walls in the master bedroom, at times we could hear noises from next door. Surrounding Area: The quiet, scenic vistas were tremendous. The roads were easily marked and the nearby towns were great. Nearby Events or Locales: San Gimignano was only a few kilometers away. It was within walking distance and took about forty minutes to get there. We never did the walk, but drove the car to the entrance gate and parked for a couple of Euros. Tips or Restaurants: This place has everything including a washer, dryer and iron. The kitchen is fully equipped. There was service for six, a coffee maker, and a dishwasher.”

“Overall: We are definitely coming back. It is without a doubt the only way to visit Italy. Thank you. Enjoyed Most: The privacy, the view, and the way it integrates into the rest of the landscape and the surroundings. Enjoyed Least: The lack of Internet connection. Also, we felt that the six euro rental for the pool towel was unecessary. Surrounding Area: You really feel that you are in the middle of Tuscany. The location is excellent and the feeling of tranquility and peacefulness is superb. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest town is Poggibonsi, although it's not within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: We read on the web page that towel supplies were limited and brought our own set of extra towels. Directions: We had a GPS navigator so between the directions and the GPS had practically no problem. The fact that there are several properties on the hill make it a bit confusing.”

“Overall: This is an excellent rental property with a great staff and a most convenient location for most places in Northern Tuscany including Siena and Florence. Enjoyed Most: Spectacular view, convenient location, fairly easy to get to, staff was excellent, dinner on the property was excellent, also. Enjoyed Least: Stairs were a chore after a while, lighting was poor, tiny tiny shower, lack of towels was a problem. Surrounding Area: Loved San Gimignano being five minutes away. Loved the Pam Market. Also, it's Tuscany and it's beautiful and very easy to enjoy. Tips or Restaurants: Bring coffee if you are Americano, pool towels, book light if you like to read at night. We found the bug spray unnecessary. You should try two restaurants in San Gimignano, Il Pino and Il Castello, don't eat in Poggibonsi. We had the worst pizza in our lives there. How sad is that? Directions: Just follow the signs. Check In Out: They would not allow you to carry your bags - Thank God - and I could not tip them for it; they flat out refused to accept a tip.”

“Overall: Good. The people there were very accommodating and helpful. Their English was good and they seemed very thoughtful. Enjoyed Most: Quiet. Old converted Abbey school. Well kept up and clean. Old world grandeur. Enjoyed Least: Two-edged sword. You have the beauty of where it is located but you also have a twisting gravel road to get there. The "oven" was a microwave and the coffee pot was percolator type that we found insufficient to make a good cup of coffee. Luckily, by the third day we found a coffee shop a few miles away. Since they only serve dinner Tues, Fri, and Sat, you have to eat in the other nights. Stove was OK, but restricted to frying and boiling. Going to San Gimignano for dinner meant driving over those back roads in the dark - didn't think that was a good option after a carafe of wine. Surrounding Area: Beautiful scenery right out the window. Be warned - no screen windows. You can figure that out! Nearby Events or Locales: San Gimignano - Definitely not within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Spend the extra - get an automatic transmission and a GPS. Italian drivers are scary. You have to have a car to use this facility. Be prepared to spend big bucks eating out. Check In Out: They let us check in early and were ready and waiting to assist us both in and out.”

“Overall: Very pleasurable. We loved the unit we stayed in. We would have like to have better access to a view from our sitting area outside. Enjoyed Most: The view from the group dining area was fantastic.The pool was wonderful. Enjoyed Least: The drive up. Surrounding Area: Close to other locations for day trips. Directions: Didn't know how to use coordinates on the GPS but followed the written directions and they were very clear. You might want to add to veer to the right when you hit the sign for the factory when you approach the top. Check In Out: It went very smoothly.”

Tips or Restaurants: Use Coop store just off Poggibonsi south exit, rather than the Pam. Use Coop in San Gimignano for small shopping needs.”

“Overall: The owners-hosts were wonderful and VERY helpful with everything!!!!!! Enjoyed Most: I think my favorite part of our villa was our beautiful veranda where the view and the setting were so relaxing. Enjoyed Least: If I had to say something, it would be the size of the kitchen, only because we enjoy doing our own cooking. Surrounding Area: San Gimignano was beautiful and Siena and Florence were just a short drive away. Nearby Events or Locales: San Gimignano was the closest town and you could definitely walk it with comfortable shoes. Tips or Restaurants: Remember to do your grocery shopping before you check in on Saturday as Pam does close at 8:00pm and is also closed Sunday. I had compiled a list of ingredients from other comments on your website which made it nice and simple so we could enjoy our first meal in Tuscany. Check In Out: The owners-hosts couldn't have been more welcoming.”

“Overall: Very good. Enjoyed Most: Its setting, the view and its proximity to San Gimignano. Enjoyed Least: One of the bedrooms had no mirror. Surrounding Area: The view. A very beautiful part of Italy. Nearby Events or Locales: San Gimignano. No, perhaps for younger people. Tips or Restaurants: Can't think of any. One great restaurant was in Poggibonsi but can't recall the name. It was adjacent to a small hotel. Also a great pizzeria in the main square of Volterra. Directions: Put the actual address of Il Cortile rather than the address of the owner's residence. We were using a GPS which took us the owner's residence which is about two kilometers from our destination. We had to call them to lead us in. Check In Out: Check in and check out went well.”
