“I heard about RIFT though a friend and thought i would send one e-mail to find out for myself. From the first exchange of e-mails I only received helpful comments and advice to further help my claim. To sum up in three words I would say quick, helpful, and professional”

“I'm appalled at the 26% cut this company took from me as well as there are companies now taking 11%. I'm still serving and was completely shocked that because I didn't send off my tax return form for last year, rift didn't send my completed form or represent me towards the H M Revenue (the tax man) asking for me completed tax form. The reason I did not reply to all the letters from rift was because I was away on exercise. This being said I received letter after letter from the H M Revenue requesting payment of £600 odd. I was worried that I started to receive these letter so I phone them up. The lady I spoke to explained to me that my tax return form had not been completed nor sent to them so they have changed my tax code back which in turn makes me owe them money, she told me to speak to who ever was acting on my behalf to find out why a tax return was never sent. I immediately phoned rift to find out what was going on and they said I never gave them permission for them to complete a form on my behalf. Yet it was not explained to me that I have to give them permission every year to claim and keep my tax code low. So now after everything I am paying for this big time, the company never offered to help and sort this misunderstanding. I cancelled my services with rift purely because I was mad and disgusted by this issue I can not say weather I will be available every year to send off my permission for them to send off my tax return. it should be done automatically every year until told other wise. I was not offered any help or explained the services fully available to me.”

“I found correspondance at early stages fantastic , which slowed down towards closure of claim , resulting in myself recieving tax penalties ( somewhat my own doing) but from being notified all fines cleared and £357 pound being refunded , to recieving nothing due to late final sign off recieving further penalties , was dissapointing :-( but suppose to end up not a bill at the end was a positive outcome Cant help but think if i had of used my previous accountant , would thing have been finacially better for myself?”

“only issue i found was that i stated i was only contactable through email as i was away and yet i had emails weeks later from different people at different times stating they where trying to get a hold of me? other than that is 2-3 months normal as its the first for me? Regards D Brodie”

“Rift is a easier way to do a tax return I like the idea of the diary, although the fee they take is close to me choosing to go with someone else.”
