“I recently used Royal Mail's oversea tracked and signed for service to Israel to send a valuable collector banknote to a friend in Israel. The web site informed me I was insured up to £50 in value and the counter staff where I mailed the letter confirmed this.
After a few weeks my Israeli friend informed me no letter had arrived. Check tracking and it had disappeared at Heathrow - probably stolen.
A claim form was duly filled inand send off claiming £50 compensation (the banknote was probably worth double that but I self insured the excess). a wekk or so later I get a derisory cheque forjust over £7 which was roughly equivalent to the postage paid.
Does Royal Mail seriously think I would use one of their premium services to send a valueless item??
It was lost in their care and they seem to do their usual trick of evading responsibility when something goes missing in their care.
I have written to them asking how they assessed the compensation they paid. It looks like a Small Claims Court case which has become very expensive and time consuming in order to get Royal Mail to pay a lvel of compensation that was covered in the fee paid to them - unless , of course, the actually pay the claim I submitted!!
A very poor and time consuming experience trying to get compensation for an item Royal Mail admit they are at fault in losing.”
“Not seen a postal worker in my street all week as have none of my neighbours, not received any mail for over a weekend as well as my neighbours, I am waiting for several parcels and important correspondence from the hospital. Absolutely shocking service”

RM were supposed to collect a parcel from me today. I didn't choose this service, Amazon did, and after waiting at home the whole day no one turned up. Then at 16:35 I received an email from RM saying that they had tried to collect the parcel at 16:20 but no one had been at home! Complete lie! I was outside the in the front garden and absolutely NO ONE from RM was even within sight of my home! After an email complaint to them and trying to call them, but not waiting 60min for them to answer, I have complained to Amazon and anywhere else I can provide my experience. Don't use RM, they are a joke!”

One star is too much. They should be shut down.
Over the last 30 days I've had to spend 6 hours on the phone with royal mail over a variety of issues.
2 seperate complaints about the misconduct of a postman at my house.
2 parcels go missing.
1 parcel sent back to me the sender without attempting delivery.
1 Reimbursement cheque made out in the wrong name so I can't cash it.
3 Assurances the cheque will be reissued, yet when I called today the support agent said that it had not even been requested.
Last month I was in bed asleep and a postman shouted through my bedroom window "oi do you want this parcel or not" I told him it's not my parcel and I don't appreciate you looking into my window and shouting at me" we went back and forth repeating the same lines, despite the parcel not being for me. He finally walked away, shouting loudly that im a ****head. I complained and 30 days later received an email that said in short "sorry won't happen again". This would have been a tolerable response had it not been for a repeat of the incident a week later, the same postman came back and woke me up by shouting at my neighbor, the posite said "ill blacklist the address if you don't take the parcel" and again the parcel was not addressed to the person he was speaking to, this time it was mine so I flew out, took the parcel, and told him what I thought of him and to just put a red slip through next time.
RM sent me a reimbursement cheque with the wrong name on it so I can't cash it, and when I reported the error, 3 consecutive 'support' agents over the sapce of 2 weeks failed to request the cheque be reissued, I was assured again today that it will be reissued.
So far, Royal Mail have not solved a single one of my complaints.
I escalated the complaints and received an email assuring me I would get I response in 24hrs, its been 72hrs and still nothing.
I have submitted a SAR (Subject Access Request) to RM CS so they can provide me with copies of there documentation and remediation of the complaints raised. I'm going to escalate with the Postal Redress Scheme, Ombudsman and my Local MP. Anyone else facing similar issues with RM should do the same as they are contravening the service agreement they have with you.”
“Absolute rubbish service. Non delivery of a parcel - tracking process is pathetic.
In addition, letters are regularly very late or not received at all even though I know they have been sent.”
“Most unreliable service. No upfront delivery updates. They turn up anytime they like without confirming delivery date and time. Just popped out to the shop to get coffe and milk .. Came back 3 min. later and found a card " sorry we missed you''. What a bunch of a uselessness..”

“Royal Mail cutbacks and use of couriers, are making Royal Mail the most unreliable delivery service for parcels. They were always very reliable, now they are the worst, especially in the LU1 area. Doesn`t matter the service used, they will take the money for 24hr services even though your parcel won`t move for days.”

“As a postie,the company is failing because of gross mis-management and greed from the top board.Taking everything they can from the money pot,wringing it dry,then employing 'inept ceo's,boardroom incompetent staff' that have never done the job,then coming up with ideas to make them more money for a service that has been ruined.Staff are leaving in droves,new contracts for new starters are atrocious,leaving the staff that are there to try to pick up the pieces,trying to deliver twice as much delivery items that cannot be done in our scheduled time.Management decision again.They are clueless.Morale is virtually nil,the staff no longer go the extra mile,frankly it will never return.Company I'm afraid is run to fail,500 Yrs old,its embarrassing.......”
“Fast Tracked a passport at the passport office in Liverpool. Got a text saying passport will be delivered by RM. Anyway, you can guess, passport did not arrive on the date stated. Went down to the local sorting office, only to find out that the passport had been stamped in Manchester, then sent to my local sorting office where it was STAMPED in, then lost.......... As you can image, I was mortified. Dealt with a duty manager, who really couldn't do very much apart from keep telling me it had not been found, and she is very sorry, she was very nice really. The issue was escalated to senior management - did I get a call or email from them, no - nothing - absolutely disgraceful, not even a letter in the post (LOL) to confirm the situation or apologies. Passport still not found, received another passport 4 weeks later. Not a happy bunny.... :(”
“Parcelforce delayed a valuable parcel £600 plus, giving no reason. When I complained they replied in a day by saying nothing more than for me to continue tracking the parcel. When I asked them to compensate the sender for the premium he paid for a 24 hour delivery (which now is more like 48) they replied that they only compensate if he fills in a lengthy form on their website. The customer servic does not investigate what happened to the parcel at all and their replies are all worded the same.SUMMARY: don't use Parcelforce, now a private company that rewards only CEOs and shareholders!!!”
