I have noticed now during the pandemic period that Royal Mail have become even more erratic with a terribly poor standard of service. I've experienced both as sender and receiver massive delays. I have loads of eBay items that are due (simple small first class delivery items) that are days out of their estimated delivery time. I've sent something recently first class which took 10 days to get there. I find that deliveries to my home are now extremely erratic. Often without constant daily deliveries but with just one large, grouped delivery on one day of the the week! Like they couldn't be bothered and saved everything up for a single delivery (late items included)!! I'm sure this is causing frustration to many of us out there. Forget Covid-19 disruption warnings on the Royal Mail website. Why should I pay for a service that they cannot provide and fulfill efficiently? A classic example of over promising and underdelivering and let's not get me started on the claims process for late or lost items!?! They are a monopolised national postal service reeking of complacency because most of us don't have any choice but to use them. That's all it is. 'Royal' mail doesn't deserve to be associated with royalty at all. Of any kind. Oh and before anyone starts complaining and saying I'm being unfair, well yes, there have been some occasions when they have actually delivered something on time but who wants to pay for a service you really can't rely on?

I sent a parcel at the start of the pandemic it still hasn’t reached its international destination supposedly signed for doesn’t count for anything I’ve sent 2 recently by DHL Both arrived within 4 days all I’ve received is the postage as I hadn’t got receipts it cost me £165.00 for a replacement and got £18.50 back from RM take my advice use a more competent and honest service like DHL rather than the incompetent and thoroughly dishonest Parcelforce morning

Royal mail lost my parcel or stole it, it was signed for. we made a claim over 60 days ago, when according to our contractual arrangement they promise to resolve it within 30 days. So why the hell haven't they? Why are you trying to rip me off, and not fullfil our contractual agreement. Now I'm forced to take legal action, because criminal activity seems common place for royal mail, they don't fullfil there obligation. Sloppy unhelpful, no customer service worth talking about. Royal mail, you need to fulfill your commitments and take responsibility for your incompetence, or expect the consequence. it's shocking that you are allowed to trade in this country with all the rules you make a mockery of, and your total disregard for people. Shameful!!!!!

It says it has been delivered, when there was no package, I was keeping an eye for the package, I even gave the full address, and they couldn't find my house.

They always always always say they attempted a delivery and nobody was found home, whereas I am home and with the front door wide open. They never attempt any delivery and I always have to go to the posto office to pick up my items. This happens all the time. I mean always. No exception. If you try to complain, they will always find a way to tell they are right and you are wrong. Avoid them

they will tell you that they tried to deliver something and you weren't in even if you were in and they just never rang the bell - they did this to me twice with the same package. totally untrutworthy

I appreciate that if no one is in the property to take the parcels you would leave it either with a neighbour or somewhere safe. However your postman decided to leave two parcels to a flat building - and I live in a house and have no interaction with the flat building next to me - and told them to "leave it in the building". Not even ask them to keep it safe for us. Now that neighbour has denied that they have got the parcels as it was left "inside the building but not their flat" and there is no way to find it!! The card you left behind does not have the name of the person who took the parcels, only the flat number. There's no date, time, reference number or description! It would have been better if you just take the parcels back to the sorting office and we can come and collect it or arrange a redelivery! I didn't want to write this because the post office branch was always so good at selling products like stamps/ currency etc. but the way some of your postman deliver parcels are appalling! I have filed a claim for compensation for my items and will happily defence it till the end of day that it was you that caused the lost of my two parcels. Either find them for me or pay me back the money of the items!!

Just wrote my second email to complain about postmen/women handing out mail on the street,I am now seriously concerned abot the safety and security of my mail,My solicitor stated,That it is illegal to hand out mail on the street,I have also spoken with friends from other neighbourhoods who have also witnessed and complained.I am also concerned that this matter has not been taken seriously enough,as the rules are continuously flouted.

They are the worst!!! They already lost 3 of my posts, but I decided to give them a benefit of the doubt and sent a postal order - signed 1st class. After 6 months, it is still waiting to be delivered. Imagine the amount of money I wasted on them! And the customer service is a nightmare to get hold of. THE WORST.

Needed a postal code (knew the house number, street name, town, etc, just missing the postal code). Searched on RM's website, but it being a shitty website, it didn't come up with the right address at all. Went to another site ( UK postal codes or something like that) and, with the same info as provided to the RM's website, the right address and postal code was found. So RM get a big thumbs down

Now I got why Royal Mail was sued. I am going to do the same. I had a Po box and then I let the renewal lapse because I did not need it. 4 months later I decided I needed a Po Box again. I called up and said I had one po box and I did not pay for the renewal, and asked if i needed to reapply or could have the same Po number. They said yes same po number. The payment was for 6 month po box service. However only 2 months later from my payment date, they told me I have to pay again to use it! What?? It turns out they backdated my payment to cover the previous 4 months when i did not use their service (there was no contract), without telling me. Dodgy. It is like "you gotta pay us the period you didn't use our service in order to buy our service for future use". Disgusting.

I had paid extra for 'Royal mail special delivery by 1 PM' and stayed back at home as the delivery was extremely important. I had to travel to a place and decided to take a cab instead of public transport just so that I stay at home and accept my parcel. Looks like the Royal mail driver had other plans. The driver didn't even have the courtesy to ring my flat's intercom. In fact, the driver shamelessly left the 'Something for you' card in my post box WITHOUT even attempting to deliver. What is the point of charging for 'Special Delivery' and providing this below average horrible service. I even ran to their collection centre where they told me that since the driver is still out, my item has not yet arrived and I can only collect it the next day or arrange for a redelivery 2 days later. This is not the first time Royal Mail has been unprofessional and it won't be the last time either. Waste of money and waste of time!

I sent my son's £140 trainers through Royal Mail. He didn't collect them due to being ill with Covid 19. When I sent my return details the male advisor was not very understanding and very rude. I then spoke to a female advisor who took my details. I think his trainers have been thrown. I have emailed yet again and the response was of no help at all. Considering its been a difficult time and Royal Mail were so difficult to get hold of with the shortage of staff and reduced opening times, they could have been more lenient. I will be putting in a complaint.

Not very helpful when they lost my Ph.D. diploma posted from Germany. Hard to talk with an advisor through customer service because there is a long long time waiting. Still no news on the lost mail.

I am in shock and awe at how badly Royal Mail have treated my complaint. They delivered a parcel addressed to me to an address 0.7 miles away. 3 weeks later, after spending hours on the phone, requesting call backs that did not materialise and emails which have been ignored, I have discovered that I have been passed over for the Postal Review to deal with, whom, are not responding to my emails and are apparently nothing to do with Royal Mail even though they have a Royal Mail email address! Royal Mail will not admit that they have mis-delivered the parcel, they try and direct me to claim from the seller who will not entertain me because the tracking info says that the parcel was delivered. I am just absolutely disgusted in the lack of action, the inability to take responsibility for your mistakes, in fact, the the inability to have done anything to resolve the situation at all.

£6 for delivery; RM website said I'd have an hour slot and in the literal 10 minutes I was out, with no information available on an hour slot, my package was delivered. Now I have to walk 2 hours to collect it at 7am on Saturday or wait for my important items 'til Tuesday. If I wanted Tuesday delivery with no inkling of what time of the day my package would be delivered, I'd have chosen the cheaper option; alas, this is not my first taste of RM incompetence and assuredly it won't be my last.

Some how managed to deliver my items to the wrong address (a PO Box somewhere according to the tracking data), customer service is non existent, I can’t claim because the items were sent internationally so it’s for the sender to raise a dispute, sender refuses to saying that the items have been delivered (I’ve never had a PO Box). On the same weekend, Royal Mail also managed to send us a postcard stating that customs charges were due for payment, we paid these only to find out that Royal Mail has sent this postcard to us by error (yet still managed to put our name and address on it)! So we’ve ended up paying customs charges for someone else, we’ve sought a refund and made a complaint, yet we’ve heard nothing back from Royal Mail. A genuinely good postal service that has gone down hill over the past few years, I will ensure that all items I buy are not delivered via Royal Mail in the future.
