Absolutely disgusting service with online shopping. We have been ordering online for a while now as we don t have a car, so getting it delivered to home made sense. As time went on we were getting random things put into bags and heavy things like carrots and potatoes put into softer things like raspberries etc, and therefore we were getting alot of items damaged and have to throw them away. It got worse and worse when I was ordering a lot of fresh meat. It was just rammed into bags without any care. I spoke to customer services about this for nearly 8 weeks running as I was getting packets of fresh meat being damaged therefore they were getting purferated holes in them or the packets were that badly damaged that they got to us ripped open and the lids coming off. This was so inconvenient as our nearest shop is about 1-2 miles away and it's only a corner shop and we do not have a car. It was also dangerous on a health point of view because if I had t noticed some of the fresh meat packets were damaged it could have caused food poisoning not knowing how long these packets were damaged for. I simply had to Chuck a lot of things away on a weekly basis and ring customer services on a weekly basis, I was getting tinned goods damaged too and other packet foods damaged as sometimes they were placed in the same bags with bottles of things, I kept ringing every week and customer service were so understanding and full of sincere apologies, they were offering me loads of vouchers in respect of the damaged goods. They even spoke to the manager of the pickers and packets to say that my problem was ongoing and was told that he was going to keep an eye on what was going on. So when that shopping came i just wasn t surprised that still nothing had changed. I ordered 1 fresh meat product that week but I always ordered a lot of strawberries, I had ordered 5 large 800g punnits as we eat a lot of fruit and they arrived with the packets undone and all of the strawberries were oozing and very mouldy with the growing all over them , we were absolutely disgusted that they sent those out to us like that, we were spending over £150 every week and promised things would get better , but they never did, it got stressful and annoying every week having to phone customer services as it seemed that because we had complained about things so many times, it almost felt like some of it was being done deliberatly. The strawberries were the last straw, it was obvious that their attitude was not going to change and the shop that Sainsbury s is , we are so disappointed in there service and they just don t care, they just seem to ram everything in there bags, but they are costing the customer time, money and patience. We will never ever shop with them again, they caused us too much hassle, also we got a lot of bad dates on stuff which was a right pain. They are absolutely useless and don t give a damn. We shop with someone else now and get a much better service !!!!

Awful customer service, delivery cancelled without being informed. Late to work due to being on hold to customer service. Finally told it had been cancelled after calling twice. Shane did not call me back as agreed and Amy put the phone down on me. Worst service I have ever received and we will certainly never be shopping there again.

A phone call to customer care advisor Mel has left me not wanting to return to Sainsbury's. Very very dissatisfied with her attitude and lack of care towards a customer having just spent. £131.46 in your Grimsby Store .

I am sad to say that after over 25 years of shopping in Sainsbury's both in Hampton and Chichester, l have finally made the decision to go elsewhere. There is almost never any Cava. The shelves are often empty of fresh produce and dry goods.

No response from customer services re website no complying with Sainsburys own terms and conditions with money off vouchers. The lack of response is not nee, this is an ongoing issue with Sainsburys who do not seem to care about their customers views/queries/complaints.

Appalling service at Harrogate store today - staff on door trying to get people to scan their shopping- one person on self service, struggling staff in checkouts - 3 staff standing around around nearby chatting and two checkout supervisors looking like like security guards but not supervising checkout queues or helping a slow checkout person on our queue. Complained twice, eventually brought out a member of staff and the other supervisor called a shopper with about 6 items to that checkout instead of us! After complaining we were moved to another checkout as ours still had not moved. Spent £120 then told afyerward we should have split this - no offer to do this. Complained to supervisor number one asking if she could issue us with petrol vouchers for the hassle and she said we could go back and put our shopping of £120 through again and split this - really!!!! - after queing for over 15 Minutes at 4pm. Or she could get a manager! No wonder they are going down the drain / back to Aldi for us with self managed queues! Found a pandora Bracelet in the car park took it and handed it into customer services who showed no interest in where or when I found it and just chucked it in post property - no record made!!! Shocking experience and not the sainsburuys I used to love!

Customer service assistants seem more interested in talking to colleagues at times than helping customers...not good

I stopped off at the cafe before I started my shopping as I wasn't feeling well. I grabbed a tea with some soup, only to be told after that they dont have any sugar. That was the main reason I went in, for a sweet cup of tea. Forgive me but why couldn't they go and buy some?

I find sainsburys disappointing put things on offer only to find there is no stock in any of the store's you shouldn't put things on offer if it's never available

As ever there where no wine boxes .this was 8.15 am and the 25% of six bottles offer was on ,in the next lane was a manager and two assistances I ask the manager about the wine boxes and one of his juniors butted in and gave me some very odd facts about not knowing when offers were on etc . Sainsbury's will never improve there service if they don't listen upper management need feed back from the staff and managers but instead they have shut the door on that and also have lost £12000 trade that I used to give them .

Exeter Sainsburys Although the Staff are always nice the shop is an awful place to visit. I have had numerous occasions where scraggy bit of meat are covered by a label and the lean bits on display. It a regular problem so I never buy meat there now. Recently on my last 6 visits there are no small trolley available and as I am disabled I am not able to go and collect one from the outer car park. I usually visit about 6.30 but there is hardly anything I want left on the shelves - even bottled water and beer, I can understand fresh produce selling out but not those items. Then worst of all the checkout - generally just 2 manned checkouts, 10 closed and huge queues. I am never going there again and will shop at my favourite shop Marks and Spencer and take my advice and do the same. It cheaper in the long run because you can eat it all and no bit ordeal with checkouts.

Appalling customer service I have recently moved and am now half an hours drive from the store so have done 2 online shops. The first was ok but there were quite a few substitutes. This week the delivery was due the evening before my guests were due. They failed to deliver any of the frozen food and the fresh berries were all “use by” the next day. This was annoying but wouldn’t have mattered if customer service had dealt with it properly. I waited over 30 minutes to speak to someone who then assured me the frozen products would be delivered “first thing” the next morning. I got up early but nothing arrived. I phoned again at 10am and was assured they would be delivered between 6pm and 7pm. In fact they arrived at 5.45pm. In the meantime I had emailed Sainsbury’s but have still not had any reply from them. As a long time loyal Sainsbury’s shopper and shareholder I am wondering what is going on with them at Management level. They seem to have forgotten that they need customers in order to succeed and they are currently losing them.

They have certainly taken a slide in the last 12 months. The shelves during the week are not restocked leaving large spaces everywhere through the store. The goods are not cheap and the prices fluctuate weekly. £1.60 one week, the next £1.00 as an example in the biscuit section and this seems to happen every other week [they must think you are an idiot]. Items that I enjoy are suddenly removed presumably because they don't sell well [whatever happened to spotted dick pudding in the frozen section to name but one item]. The till girls have been replaced to a large extent by the introduction of the scanner system. So they are forcing you into using the scanner by creating large queues on the normal check out. The scanner puts the onus onto the customer into getting everything right which makes you feel like you are going through customs. It is so easy to inadvertently put something into your bag forgetting to scan it. It is noticeable in my local shop [pepper hill, kent] that the car park is becoming emptier each week you go there. I cannot recall how long I have shopped at Sainsbury's, it must be 30 to 40 years if not more and I guess it's time to say goodbye.

You have changed your oat and sultana cookies. They should no longer have oat in the name they are an over sweet sultana cookie that has an unpleasant after taste. The silver lining is they will no longer be bought and this will help to keep in check me ever expanding waistline.

What a joke, Shopping online is a bad idea, they will send you everything that expires the same day of the delivery. Even the fruit is on its last legs. I will never shop at Sainsbury's

Online shop delivery included a substitution item that I rejected, a simple process according to receipt paperwork and I should expect a refund within 5 working days, this hasn't happened and the telephone support line is impossible to get through on. Only £3 but as a matter of principal going to keep trying and see just how long this takes, 11 days in and counting.

I have been a victim of racism at a Sainsbury's supermarket when they refused to sell to me an energy drink and they demanded that I go under additional checks than British people to prove I am older than 16 years old when I am 30. I witnessed 18 year olds British people buying energy drinks, in front of me without being challenged to show their I.D.. The problem was one particular staff that demanded to see my passport to sell anything despite there was NO SIGN "CHALLENGE 25" ON ANY OF THE ENERGY DRINK SECTIONS. I didn't know that you now have IMMIGRATION CONTROL DUTIES AND SECRET AGENTS IN STORE. When I raised my concerns with the manager on duty showing evidence about everything I stated, I was treated like a criminal having guards approaching in an attempt to intimidate me despite I was calm. In the midst of this chaos, an African young lady approached me showing support about what was happening, understanding I have been a victim of Racism. I contacted Sainsbury's through every means possible, more than 7-8 times and they keep on ignoring me. Do you really think I am not going to stand up for my human rights? For Goodness' sake, I have evidence for everything I am saying and if you keep on supporting your staff's racist tendencies and misleading customers, the WHOLE UK needs to know.

Customer service is taking a terrible nosedive. Its not the staff that are at fault here. Checkouts seem to be being phased out & the checkouts that remain are slow. There is a new scan thing that i will not be using thank you. The last thing i want is to set off a bleeper & then have security checking through my items. Sainsbury this is why Aldi beat you time & time again. Take a tip & see how the checkouts work there
