“Online order full of short dated damaged goods total waste of time and money fruit battered and bruised chilled product had to be responded of due to too short of date (same date as evening delivery)”
“They didn't deliver. appalling after service trying to sort it

Shocking!”
“I have just visited the welwyn garden city store to do a little bit of shopping and collect a reserved item from Argos ( now in the same building ). .
I Decided I'd also get a late breakfast here so went to the cafe , there were two ladies in front of me who paid for their food and went to sit down .
Then the server just turned round to the coffee machine behind her and started cleaning it and doing some some general 'wiping down ' !!. Completely ignoring me and the gentleman behin me .
I looked at the guy behind me and he said with a smile ' have I upset her ' ,,,, we were both confused by her behaviour we just decided to leave .
She was ignorant & rude !!.
I then went to the cotes brasserie for breakfast ,,more expensive but far better service .
Won't be going to Sainsbury's agin !!.”
“We asked an assistant where the "free from" aisle was as we do not know the shop. His response was "I work in the Café I don't know" he then proceeded to check his mobile and walked of. His attitude was totally unhelpful.
We stopped in the Café for a snack and ordered a beef baguette with tea we were informed there is a 20 minute wait. At 1.35pm it arrived 25 minutes after ordering. When we commented on the waiting time the woman said we could take it away with us, and disputed the waiting time at this busy period was 60 minutes implying we were lying. There was a pot of gravy (which was just coloured water and tasteless and the beef was cold). how can I take this. We had paid extra to sit down and eat.
The service here leaves alot to be desired and training should be offered to the staff to provide a better experience.
Seriously consider going else where in future”
“Whist shopping in Maidstone branch in 11th April , a cleaner pushing a huge floor cleaning machine drive the machine straight onto my arm. This made me try to prevent myself from falling towards display and caused me to put all my weight on left foot / ankle which I have just had fused with metal work .. This has caused me terrible pain since and also caused pain inane which is due to be operated on soon. I felt the cleaner drove onto me on purpose . A store worker filled in an accident form and took my details and said Sainsbury s would contact me within days .???? I did not hear from anyone . I had to call customer services to ask who I contact about this . This has really upset me . Sainsbury are are huge company and they have not even asked how I am .I was in tears when this happened to me
I have since sent 3 emails just to get Sainsburys to confirm they received my emails . I do not think I will be shopping in Sainsbury s again. To think I shopped in there 4 times a week and they can't even ring a customer who has been hurt by one of their own staff who was not taking care . I am now seeking advice and have asked for a copy of CCTV . What do the staff do with my details when they filled accident form in.”
“I have been shopping with sainsburys for nearly 12 years however in the last 2 years im making one trip every 3, 4 months as the prices are ridiculous high and since they bought argos, argos quality and prices increase significantly.
In my opinion many products are overpriced.
I also noticed that they are increasing price of products and then they are lowering the price to the previous price and states that this is on offer now. Big scam”
“I am disabled & the woman behind the counter stole my nectar card. That was in Sainsburys local.
Later I went to Sainsburys Clapham High Street & was accosted outside by a professional begger who made inappropriate advances towards me.
I am sick & tired of Sainsburys security.”
“Joined up to online shopping. Paid for a delivery pass. On several occasions wrong items have been delivered but the worst is how many times we’ve had to throw meat out as it’s clearly gone off. And yet if I buy the meat myself in store it is fine. Something is going wrong in keeping the meat safe from when it’s picked to when it arrives. Today I rang to advise the pork ribs smell sour and repugnant and was offered a refund. Refund process is very poor. They can’t auto refund to your card. They have to pass you to a refunds dept who takes the card details. Just waited 7 min and told the team is busy and will call me back.”
“Your Culcheth store is a joke. One person serving at check out while staff walks about chatting. If I wanted to use the till I would work in the shop I do not expect to serve myself while paid staff do nothing.”
“Customer services are absolutely shocking and diabolical. A few weeks ago I had shopping delivered and there was chocolate milk shake I ordered that had clearly been purposely opened and left to be leaked all over my shopping, ruining some items; the delivery driver thought it was somewhat amusing. And I did have that item refunded. There should have been more than £1 refunded. Within that shopping, there was also a sandwich which was out of date the following day and they said it was free, but then still charged me for it! I contacted customer services via email and there was zero response. This week, I ordered some chocolate eggs with my shopping and they weren't even present and I phoned the customer services and was given a £4 to make me shop there again. If anything happens again, I'll be making serious complaints and never shopping there again.”
“Never made me happy..they have parking cameras.and have a limit of 3hrs.parking.which is unsuitable for me as I cannot do my shopping and go for something to eat in cafe...and use the loo. Has caused me a 70 pound fine,,its disgusting charging for parking to shop there but I won,t be shopping there again..I need to eat while out as on insulini”
“Have ordered my shopping from Sainsburys Online for sometime now. Had various problems with food out of date and so on. I know the weather has been bad and understood that the deliveries today would be later than the original delivery time I had opted for. My delivery was set for 10.00/11.00 but by 4.00 I thought I better find out what’s going on. I was told that all deliveries from Beckton had been cancelled today. I realise the weather has caused problems but surely Sainsburys could email and advise their customers so we can make alternative arrangements. Poor service and poor communication. Won’t use again.”
“Tried shopping on line made 5 attempts finally got the order accepted they sent a confirmation e mail where I saw that the Delivery address was totally in correct
called them 24 hours before delivery slot. They told me that they could not amend the address the order would have to be cancelled and I would have to totally reorder
UUURRRRGGGGHHH”
“The Smartshop system is not fit for purpose - it extremely frustrating to lose the internet connection halfway round the store, have vouchers not accepted, have vouchers not registered by machine, card not accepted etc etc. Every single time I have used it, there has been a problem and either no staff member to assist or someone who shrugs and says they keep reporting problems with the system but being told there is no problem.”
“Customer services absolute pants, had online delivery with out of date goods, complained to Sainsburys who said thank you for your comments! Then they said they had sent me an e-voucher - to the value of 60p - absolute joke, the out of date goods were £4.50. Not the first time this has happened had quite a lot of things delivered with only 1 or 2 days on them, they're not interested. Won't be using them again”
“The produce department is practically empty again. It has been like that for a very long time. All you can buy are empty cardboard boxes. No produce in them . It is absolutely appalling. Beautiful coloured fruit and veg are available all round the world. Where or who are your buyers. They need sacking. My shop is Whitley Bay. Tyne and Wear. As this is the first department as you enter your stores, the first impression is dreadful and the daft idea of using the top shelves to store stock is claustrophobic. Argos takes up a lot of valuable space and is always empty. The only aisle that is consistently full is the liquor aisle. 😡 Everywhere else is quite poor, but nowhere is as bad as the produce. Fruit and veg are available in other supermarkets, so the problem is definitely with your buyers. Incidentally the manager is never , never available. He must spend his day in an office at back of store. IF he ever came on the shop floor or spoke to a customer when requested, then he may have some idea on how to improve his store. I wonder if a day working on produce might give him some idea of how bad his store is. I do wonder if he exists as he can't be contacted at all. This store is truly dreadful.”
“Customer service is appalling, despite emailing twice, have still not heard from them. Did an online shop went to collect and once there was told main item was not available, i had ordered it at half price (however it was available online the same day but at the full price) also because the item wasn't available they tried to charge me by taking away the discount voucher. Feel this is a cheating system and a very sneaky underhand way of taking money off people. Am going to write a bad review weekly on as many sites as possible so hopefully will stop happening to others. So disappointing, used to use Sainsbury all the time.”
