SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. Within seconds, the individual or caregiver can take any necessary action. “The SAMi has been life changing for our family. This device allows us to sleep a little easier knowing that this device will notify us of any abnormal movements that our daughter is making in her sleep so that we can check on her. I am so thankful for the SAMi!”

“Sami has given me a peace of mind whether I am sleeping or doing errands around the house, I know Sami will alert me if my son has seizures of muscle spasms. I love the record function so I can send videos to his neurologist if I have questions. You can also set it to how sensitive you want Sami to be, how much movements you want it to detect and what level of sound you would want your onto alert you.”

“I love this camera! My son has a genetic disorder called Dravet syndrome and it has given me peace of mind. I sleep next to him so I do catch the seizure before the camera but if I didn’t I do believe the camera would pick it up. I love all the features! Especially the fact that it saves the video incase I need to show it to my son’s neurologist.”

“Sami has been a life saver for my daughter and I. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 2 and there was not any device that fit her needs. She is now 11. I get the notifications of movement through the night. I can send the video to her neurologist and add the video to her seizure app to keep track of seizure days. I can view her camera away from home to check on her at night. This is our last stop. I wouldn’t even consider another device! Thank you so much for coming up with this idea!”

“The SAMi camera has been a great resource that I have been using with my family because it helps keep me at ease when my son has seizures at night. I can capture all his activities even during the day if he takes naps. It gives us a broader picture of what type of seizures he is having when someone is not near him. This monitoring has also helped his neurologist see what I see at home. I truly love it and am very happy I was introduced to this device. It has played a big role in our lives and I can have some peace of mind that when that sensor alarm rings, I jump out real quick to see how my son is doing and if he is okay. I have some ease during the nights and a positive change in our quality of life.”

“This has been an amazing help. My 12 year old son has infrequent nighttime seizures which can cause his oxygen levels to go below 65% and require rescue meds or an EMT visit. His older brother who shares a room with him was not sleeping well because he was worried he would miss alerting us to a seizure. With the SAMi, we have peace of mind and my older son can sleep soundly again. It also helps me monitor how long it takes my younger son to fall asleep, as sleep deprivation is a seizure trigger. So if I notice it’s taking him longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep, I can bring him his sleep meds.”

Hi Stacia! You can use the clock mode to hide the live view and then dim the screen so it's essentially black. It will still open to the live feed if you touch the screen or an alarm goes off! Just click on the clock button in the bottom left of the live view screen and then slide your finger across the screen to the left to dim the brightness! Hope this helps :)
