“I was informed by my sister's oldest son, Philip Johnston, that the loan he got from you was payed off a few days later with £16 and odds in interest, by his partners father. He got me to stand as his Garentor but, you should have made a back ground check, I rent the house I'm in, I don't own it or any other property. Plus, my rent is payed for me because, I'm on benefits. I've been onto the fraud people who are a part of my bank and they will not only prevent you taking £166.00,or whatever it was, from my account on the 28th of this month and so on, they will also prevent any other loan firm's from taking money from my account. As far as I know my nephew had taken my bank details to get himself a loan from your company. So, please contact me and inform me that this loan has been repaid in full bar the small amount of interest. Your's sincerely, Mr Francis Murphy. PS, I don't think I should leave a review at this time.”

“This company makes it as difficult as possible for you to pay off your loan early. They will always threaten you with a letter to your home address. They also charge 30 days interest when you tell them you want to settle early.”

Hi John We're sorry to hear you're not happy with our service. Legally, we're required to send you a confirmation letter when you request to pay your loan back early. We cannot issue you with an early settlement balance without it. If you’d like to repay your loan before the end of your term, give us a call on 0800 694 4960 or 0330 303 2000.

“You’re money sucking vultures who take advantage of vulnerable people. Vulnerable people who are forced into taking worse deals than Wonga offered. Would never use again & only used this time due to being desperate because of Christmas.”

“Took a loan out of £100 and whilst I had paid 2 instalments of £11.01 and only had it 2 weeks my early resettlement balance was £107.00 ,so effectively I paid £28 in interest!!!. Bearing in mind the full cost of the loan was £143 over 13 weeks. Where the hell did they get this settlement figure from ? Plucked out the air I suspect.”

“After paying off my first every satsuma loan (full repaid within 14 days - with confirmation e-mail), I received a visit TO MY HOME ADDRESS from one of there agents stating that my loan was not paid! However, a (not so quick) phone call to the customer services sorted it out.”

“No benefit to settling up early as it appears all the the interest is front loaded. Paid for 3 month's and settled up 3 month's early still paid twice the amount I borrowed. Avoid if at all possible.”

“Borrowed 600 pounds. Paid it back 3 month's early. Paid 3 x 189 and then they still wanted another 491 pound to settle. It would appear the interest is pretty much front loaded so you have to pay that first before you pay off the principal. On any loan you should never owe more than you have borrowed. Avoid if at all possible”

“You save absolutely nothing by paying early. Absolute joke. Took a loan out on february for 250 at 9.95 per week and phoned on may 22 to pay early. They quoted me 260 so none of my repayments came off my loan at all. If i could give less than 1 star i would”

“Absolute loan sharks. Lost my bank card, informed them of this. Ringing non stop even when I paid. Absolute joke Satsuma. I’ve reported this. Stay well clear. Rip of merchants”

“Appalled at satsuma I applied for a loan on Monday which was preapproved it then sent me a email to send my bank statement which I did, I then had to communicate with them to find out they needed more evidence for proof of earnings which I sent and over 48 hours the loan is still pending and no communication from satsuma after I contacted them again. This is not the way to run a business very disappointed.”

“Woeful ! Got offered a loan after filling out a simple form as long as I sent my payslip (which I did immediately). Got a reply by email a full day later asking me a simple question that should have been on the original form if it was needed . I then got an email saying I need to wait another 24 hours for them to review again . Very poor communication and slow ! I am not getting paid for this as just downloaded this to write this review as so annoyed”

“Long standing customers with good record should beable get reduced interest rates on next loans with good payment history with the company”

“Rude complacent staff, extorsionate rates of interest.... Took 4 days after being approved for the loan to be sent... and was charged interest for the 4 days i Hadnt received anything! Tried to point out that im being charged for days i was still waiting and have been point blank ignored and its been about a month... WILL NEVER USE AGAIN!!”

“I did not receive the loan as there was a mix up with my sort code details at ur end then I still got charged from two different company s totaling ,44 pound which was taken from my bank that I didn't no of”
