I wrote to screwfix asking them to consider a chair to sit on for older customers waiting to be served. They promised a reply after considering this ... BUT no reply.

Most of the times your offers are a con because the product on offer is out of stock in all branches. Why advertise if the bloody things are out of stock

I agree with Cathaff's review of Screwfix 1 month ago, to buy even the simplest of things you get the third degree to try and get your details, its pathetic, unnecessary and downright intrusive, so grow up Screwfix and start respecting people's privacy, we don't all want offers etc from you !

Wolverhampton Wulfrun Trading Estate I felt I was an inconvenience to the staff when I was finally served. Then charged twice on my card after I was advised the first payment did not go through. When showed my online statement on my banking app was told that one of the payments ‘probably’ wouldn’t go through which consequently did the next day - sales staff advised there was nothing she could do and that I would have call back to the branch with a bank statement! Called customer service and advised to send an email with screenshot of transactions. Now have to wait for a refund through no fault of my own. Very disappointing service, will not be using Screwfix in the future as clearly they do not value their customer these days - made me feel like a fraud!!

Sick of staff constantly trying to harvest names and addresses etc when it's none of their business and a data protection risk. Peoples info is none of your business, neither is it the business of everyone else in the shop. It is blatant data gathering to harass with marketing and use info and then lose it when your servers get hacked. Stop it now.

Screwfix - great at taking your money; lousy at refunding it I purchased some jigsaw blades online for collection at the Screwfix branch in Plymouth. I then realised that they weren't compatible with my jigsaw and immediately phoned Screwfix customer services. They said they could cancel the order and refund me. Guess what? No Refund. I followed up with an email to Screwfix and received a response on 24 Nov 19. No apology for the delay. The email stated that the Plymouth store would be contacted and that I would receive my refund when the store put the item back into stock. It's now 11 Dec and still no refund. This experience has led me to look for alternatives to Screwfix and I've since discovered Tool Station and I have to say their prices are far far better than those at Screwfix.

I phoned to buy a pair of work boots for my son who lives 50 miles away. I asked if I could pay and he pick them up from local shop (Bromsgrove) No problem they said aa long as he has order number and proceeded to take my personal details and money. I then receive email advising that he can’t collect without my card so I was basically defrauded out of my money. Spoke to Lee (Bromsgrove store manager) to try and rectify situation - he is just plain rude and kept repeating “its policy.” It’s presumably also Screwfix policy to mislead customers into parting with their money

A warning for anyone thinking of purchasing a larger item from Screwfix. The type of thing that is not stocked in store and needs to be delivered to your home by one of their suppliers. I ordered radiator online on the 3rd November, £250 was taken from my account the next day and a radiator was delivered Tuesday. Unfortunately, not the one I had ordered. These things happen, I called Screwfix and told them the wrong item had been delivered. They told me the item was delivered directly by a supplier who close at 5pm so wouldn’t be able to arrange pick up until the next day. Didn’t hear anything the next day so called them again and went through the story all over again and was told they will pick up Thursday and it will need to be signed for. No good, nobody home on Thursday so I said it would need to be Friday and I want the new one delivered the same day as I had a plumber booked to fit it. They couldn’t guarantee that, may take a few working days to get the right one delivered, best they could say the following Monday. Plumber cancelled and rebooked for the following Thursday. No radiator Monday, called Screwfix again and told it had been loaded on the wrong lorry. Nothing Tuesday, called them again, said they would have to contact the supplier to find out where it was. Wednesday it was delivered, luckily my wife just happened to be at home when they dropped it off. Great, looks like the right one this time. Plumber arrives Thursday, wrong radiator again and this time they had sent me one that was damaged. Thankfully plumber doesn’t charge me for wasting his time. Called Screwfix again and went through the saga all over again before telling them to cancel the order, refund me and and pick it up. Over the weekend went to B&Q to look at their range of radiators, ordered one online and it was delivered next day in perfect condition. Called Screwfix on Wednesday to ask where my refund was as they had taken £250 from my account over 2 weeks previous with nothing to show for it. Told it would take 3 to 5 working days. Now over 3 weeks since the money was taken, radiator form B&Q fitted. Still no refund. Called Screwfix again to ask where it was and told they needed to call supplier to verify the faulty item had been picked up. Told them it had been picked up a week ago and I have been waiting over 5 working days for my refund since then, Told I would have to wait another 3 to 5 working days as the fact it had been picked up wasn’t added to the system a week ago. Furious. Hours wasted on the phone and still no refund. Never using them again.

Our builder ordered an Aqualux shower enclosure whilst fitting our new bathroom, delivery was due Wednesday 23/10/19. Driver arrived with only box 2 of 2, 1st box was not on the van, was checked by the driver and our builder and not there. Took 24hrs for them to find out where it was and was told that it had been damaged on the van (obvious lie as it was not there in the first place). Replacement sent out but on a 2 day service which under the circumstances should have been sent overnight, we will now receive it Monday 28/10/19, 5 days later than it should have been. Screwfix customer service apologised but did not want to take any responsibility and the blame is on their supplier, this does not help us or my elderly mother who lives with us. Frustrated and appalled!

Was left waiting at the collection point for far too long without explanation. Two further customers received their items before me - i bought a fluorescent light tube at Hinckley. Not impressed

Order No A2781007852 I ordered 2 radiators on line plus 2 new valves no problem delivery friday, excellent. I booked my plumber for Saturday brilliant. Got an e mail saying they would text me at 7am on the friday to let me know the slot, they never did, so I rang at 8.45 abd spoke to a very nice who told me everything was ok one radiator would be delivered by parcel force and one from the supplier. Parcel force delivered fine had a tracking number from the courier not recognised so at 10.15 I phone screwfix again during the next 7 hours I phoned numerous times I finally got through to the manufactures and delivery team direct just to get the item on Monday (hopefully) so far it will cost me £150 for a cancelled plumber as he has lost work, and god knows what my stress levels are. I will never buy from screwfix again as I have never experienced customer service like this in my life absolutely disgusting and the nice young lady that told me I shouldnt book a plumber until the radiator has arrived has obviously never had to book a good plumber. That comment was just about the final straw for me. If you are thinking about buying on line from screfix think long and hard.

Went in to the nearest Screwfix store, was greeted by 2 members of staff who couldn’t look like they wanted to be there less. Waited 15 minutes to be served and asked for an outside drain cover. The man serving me went to look and brought back the totally wrong drain cover. He turned to the other employee who happened to be the duty manager - Caitlin and she laughed at him for getting the wrong cover. He asked her for help to which she replied in a very sarcastic manner ‘can’t. Serving a customer’. The man serving me then looked at the photo I had of what I needed and asked his duty manager to look, she looked and simply said ‘no don’t do those.’ And went back to doing what she was doing. I said okay, thanks I’ll go somewhere else then. Other people in the shop looked a bit surprised by her behaviour and she obviously noticed this, so she backtracked and asked me again what it is I was looking for and she’d look on her computer. At this point I was angry and a little embarrassed so I thanked her again and left. Never going to screw fix again! Plenty of other places that sell same things and give better customer service!

Refused to ask a supplier whether delivery to a place undercover would be available for a disabled customer, unless the order was paid for first. Customer service people hide behind company policy and refuse to accept policies are discriminatory. Dialogue is hopeless because all email apparently goes to SPAM folder which is apparently never checked. CEO would clearly rather lose customers than bother responding to direct emails. Clearly disabled people do not do DIY according to Screwfix. Customers with disabilities are just a burden at best, and made to feel worthless. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with my recent visit in the Newport branch. Attempted to take personal information unlawfully before they would even serve me. I was made to feel i was being obstructive as I wouldn’t hand over my address to be able to buy a pack of nails... poor excuse about warranty on electrical goods needing a home address, which I was not buying and they knew that.. Nothing wrong with the products just let down by a very hostile approach to gathering information on customers probably for mailing lists.
