Bought a carpet and got someone to come out and check our measurements. He told us someone from the store would ring us to arrange a fitting day. Two days later and no one rang, so we phoned the store and arranged a fitting day. We were told that the fitter would ring on the day to let us know an estimated time of arrival. we were up at 7am an cleared the last remaining items from the room. At approx. 11.15am, no phone call so rang the store. They said that the fitter would definitely be here. 3.50pm still no phone call. Another call to the store. She said he works until he has finished so will definitely be there. The fitters they use are contractors so have their own jobs as well as those of SCS. Asked for the fitters number so that we could get an approximate time but she said they are no longer allowed to give out his number. 5.30pm still no fitter!! rang the store again. I asked her to ring him and get an estimated time but she said that he may not answer because he would either be fitting a carpet or driving, so asked he to let me know what he said. A few minutes later she rang back and said that his phone had gone to answer phone. I asked her if she had left a message and she hesitated and said um...yes, I said are you sure you left a message she again said umm...yes. So I gathered from that that she hadn't. I told her that unless he was here by 6.30pm we didn't want it fitted and would arrange another day because we had arranged for our sons to come straight from work to help us put the furniture back and after 6.30 it would be too late. 6.15pm the fitter turned up and when I asked him why he hadn't rung us, he said he had tried twice to ring us but couldn't get through to us so our phone must not be working. I said that the phone was working because I had rung the store several times and they had rung me back. He showed me his "phone calls" to me and I showed him the call from the store but he just looked away. I know that he rang the number but just as the phone was about to ring, he cut off. This was a ploy I think to save time!! I wonder how many more he has done this to? We have purchased another carpet and three piece suite from them in the past but will go elsewhere in future.

Very good at selling and the delivery guys are spot on, I cannot fault the delivery. The problems are with getting issues rectified quickly. I've used them in the past and put the issues I had back then as a one off. But no, they still cant get a simple order correct. SCS appear not learn or willing to change processes. I had to email the CEO before things started to move, yet still needed constant pushing. They appear to not communicate with the manufacturers. It took over six months to resolve the issues. I was pretty patient, others would have returned the lot for a full refund. Sorry will not use or recommend SCS.

Second time in 1 week that SCS have let me down with my carpet. Firstly it was damaged and i was informed the day before fitting that they were unable to attend despite them knowing on the Friday, i was then told i would have to wait a week for the fitting (today) I have now just received a phone call (the day of fitting) to say that the carpet fitter is unreliable and has broken down. I only want carpet! i had no issues with my sofa apart from the delivery driver of the first whom thought it appropriate to chuck said sofa and cushions in the back of his wagon! I went with SCS thinking i would have no issues, i wouldn't recommend for carpets what so ever.

paid deposit for carpet on 17/4/18 Surveyed on 19/4/18 by SCS surveyor. Paid in full for carpet on 27/4/18 and arranged to be fitted on 14/5/18. Midday 14/5/18 was informed by carpet fitters had been overbooked by head office and would fit carpet am 16/5/18. The carpet fitters arrived fitted the hall and then came to the stairs. They said could not fit stairs as the stairs were concrete. They had to go out and buy glue to attach grippers to stairs this they did and said would be back next day to complete job. They arrived back 6 days later on 22/5/18 as fitter had slashed wrist. they proceeded to complete job and found they were four steps short on carpeting as the pattern did not line up so on friday the 24/5/18 they came back and completed job. Carpet looks great Sale staff excellant and thats were it stops. The rest of the job was poor and very unprofessional for a company like SCS

Information on warranties virtually nil at store level,quality and finish of Lazy boy sofa and chair very mediocre for the £2500 paid,filling uneven,stitching of covers uneven ,fabric design not matched up,covers baggy and after one week of use showing very poor upholstery quality !Almost looks like it was made in some backstreet workshop,rather than a professionally run furniture factory ! Will have to see how professional the manufacturer and SCS are at addressing the concerns !

Well to start after getting a date for delivery I then disposed of my old sofa to then receive a call an hour later to be told there is a problem and will not be getting my sofas delivered. Not happy I persisted with emails and calls and after a week with no furniture I was granted use of a temporary one which was then delivered. Then told I would get a delivery to be be told actually it will be even longer! 15 weeks in total it has taken 4th November to 14th February for delivery. My sofas have arrived they look beautiful the delivery guys were great and and took the temp sofa with them although they had no idea they were supposed to do it. Let's see whether it lasts or is as good as it looks. Through all this I was offered a refund of my delivery fee £59 which I think is appalling considering the stress and upset this company has caused me. Would I buy from them again? No never the stress alone has caused untold health problems for me. I would not recommend this company at all unfortunately.

I bought what is supposed to be one of their top sofas. From incorrect delivery to numerous faults including a broken frame I believe my 3k would of been better spent with their competition. I have given two stars as when I complained they did send an engineer to check the sofa for the faults to be so called fix. That said a 12 month old sofa should not experience a broken frame, bobbling fabric and seats that needed fibre re-adding. I will look to purchase my next sofa from DFS or Sofology next time

The sale of the coffee table and lamp stand was good.The delivery of the items was very poor.As we couldn’t get any delivery dates we asked for ,and also we weren’t told that we would have to put them together .We were asked about the entrance to the property as these items come in one piece .

We were seen by a sales rep in the Dartford store whose shirt was supposed to be white but a lovely shade of grey.... this should of put us off but oh know I see a sofa I really liked so ordered when my first instinct should of been right. The carpets in the place were filthy unyet they sell carpets. So after waiting weeks my new sofa and club chair arrived. After 3 days I heard a loud crack as I sat down (I’m on the larger size) but not obese. Again I had to wait weeks for specialist to come out. The wood had cracked on the knot part of wood and the chair was out an inch either side.... so again with a chair we couldn’t use, we requested a love chair instead..... again weeks waiting... and you guessed it the chair collapsed..... without repeating myself we waited weeks AGAIN and it was shoddy workmanship and was fixed on site 2 months down the line the store manager has not rung us back. We are now waiting for the settee to also collapse..... they are completely incompetent and would advise never to buy from this store. The 2 stars are for the delivery drivers from Chelmsford... they were great and very cheery.

firstly I was sent wrong sofa so had to wait 6 weeks for my original a sofa that I ordered the first settee I received was totally wrong colour different legs not matching so wasn't happy at all has had to keep the wrong sofa for 6 weeks although I originally waited 5 weeks for scs to make my sofa when finally scs got it right I received my sofa on Saturday 25 the delivery driver was rude and arrogant wasn't one bit polite I ask him politely can I keep old scatter cushion he replied no why was you hiding them ? asked what will happen to sofa that they brought away he replied were going to dump it for the stress scs as put me threw I thought as a good gesture I would of liked to keep old cushion I've bought off scs in past but don't think I will in future

Bought the dreamer sofa bed with chaise. Delivered in July 2016. Cushions have sunk in so much we can feel the frame. Very uncomfortable. Cannot possibly be used as a double sofabed as you can't lay down on it. Will it be a waste of my time to complain? I think it might.

Sales staff were knowledgeable and helpful it was the lack of service in fitting the carpet which is unacceptable. The fitting day was agreed at the showroom and I was told that we would receive a call 30 mins before fitting. This did happen but at 17:30 in the evening. For this I did not even need to take a day’s leave. I also cannot believe that SCS hide behind the concept that the fitting is a contract between you and the fitter where the customer pays them directly. These days a higher level of service is expected from companies and this seems to be something out of the 80’s. After a 45min period where people seemed only interested on getting home the room has been left for me to finish with carpet trimmings and loose tuffs everywhere with the parting words of “leave it an hour before vacuuming”. If I could offer advice to SCS it would be to employ your own carpet fitters which have the time and skill to fit the product you have sold. What is the point of your salesman doing his best work if it is to be undone so quickly by the people you use to fit the carpet If you want a carpet fitted with care and attention go to a store which use their own installers where the company you have paid takes responsibility for the sale and fitting.

w purchased a deep pile carpet for the living room ,this was fitted and within three months the pile was coming out,we contacted S.C.S. Drakehouse Sheffield ,the carpet was replaced after several visits to the store,new carpet fitted and again the pile was coming out,a third carpet was fitted ,this was over a period of a year from purchasing a carpet to one which was satisfactory We ordered a stair/hall /landing carpet the same colour shorter pile[WHAT A MISTAKE] fitter arrive with carpet I informed him it was the wrong shade of the carpet we ordered,he informed me it was the way the pile laid why it appeared to be a different colour. We went to the showroom to complain about the colour and the sales assistant taking a photograph of the two shades of carpet, she contacted head office and sent a copy of the photograph to head office and told who I believe was JOHN the comparison was like dark grey to black, we did not have any more contact from S.C.S. Eventually after I contacted head office they arranged for a surveyor to visit,,he eventually came and agreed with the salesperson the carpet was not the same colour and spent some time on the phone regarding our complaint still no contact from .S.C.S. I sent a letter to the Managing Director regarding my complaint who ignored the issues with my carpet, to date I still have not had the courtesy of a reply I went back into the store and asked what was the latest on my complaint,i was informed she had not heard from head office. I then had a phone call from the area manager informing me the colour was correct and the dye was within tolerance of colour +1 to -1 without looking at the carpet [HE MUST HAVE HAD A CHRYSTAL BALL] I was not satisfied and asked him to visit my home regarding my complaint he still informed me the colour was correct. I them told him the fitter came without carpet plates and damaged the plates he fitted he had damaged ,he then informed me a fitter would come out and correct these problems within two to three days of his visit THIS WAS TWO WEEKS AGO STILL NO VISIT We wanted to have the same carpet colour in three bedrooms and conservatory his advice was CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COLOUR IN FUTURE What a cop out I thought S.C.S was a professional company, providing good quality products from major companies,,,,,,,,, it seems to be we have your money now , live with it

This company are great at selling you a carpet but once they have the sale thats where it all goes wrong. At no point was it explained to me that there is an extra charge for moving the odd piece of furniture around a room to lay the carpet nor was I told that I was responsible for disposing of the off cuts - bags and bags of them! On the day of fitting I complained to the store and was told they would refund the £90 extra charge for two rooms (there really wasnt that much in each) but I had to drive 15 miles to get it done! Obviously, I like the carpet but in areas it is frayed at the edges and obviously done in a hurry! I used SCS four years ago and whilst there had been problems I gave them another chance but this is the last. My advice is pay a bit more and go to the others!

Diabolical customer service. Arranged on Tuesday for furniture to be delivered after 9am on Friday as there would be nobody home before that. 6pm Thursday evening driver phones to say he will be here between 7am and 9am. Spoke to same person at the delivery centre who made the original arrangements who now says that the delivery drivers can simply ignore any arrangements that have been mad if it suits them. Was offered the chance to make other arrangements but what's the point of that?
