Had carpets fitted today. Was told in store when we went to get them that if we added the under lay we’d get “free fitting” which we were gunna get anyway, so we thought bonus free fitting....well carpets were fitted the fitter came down with a bill of £130 a fitting fee!!!! We were never told about it in store we were assured it was free. The fitter was a nice guy and was embarrassed and said it wasn’t the first time he’d been to someone after Christmas n they were unaware of the charge. We rand head office and was put through to Plymouth store were we spoke to Mark who was very rude and wouldn’t even sort the issue was as if he weren’t even listening. So we had to pay the guy as he was waiting for his money. We were not happy at all and will never be buy from them again also will not recommend it to anyone. What a joke!

Tried to buy carpet - during "sale" with "free fitting" advertised on TV. Waited 15 minutes trying to talk to a salesman - only 1 available and he was busy. Went back another day hoping to speak to sales but only 1 person there and didnt seem to know anything about carpets - but tried to waffle anyway - then another turned up who did seem to know - but - Told had to wait 2 weeks for carpet another wait for "contractors" to fit it but length of wait unknown required to pay £60 for "free fitting" of very small carpet plus extra £40 if contractors had to roll furnature about. Clearly not the sort of behaviour expected from a "large" retailer. In fact I'd say pretty decieptfull all round.

AVOID SCS - APPALLING COMPANY, WOULD APPLY ZERO STARS IF AVAILABLE. We purchased a large leather corner group sofa from SCS. After a few months, we noticed that in several parts of the beading (cushion edges), the tan leather was peeling. In retrospect, we should have reported this straight away. We paid SCS £70 for one of their technicians to inspect the suite. The technician said nothing but after chasing SCS for several weeks, they told us that the problem was due to wear. After several months of calls and emails being blatantly ignored, they told us there was nothing they could do. I am now taking legal action. Still paying for the suite on finance but it is ruined after two years of very light use. Beware!

Purchased g plan leather sofa, colour lifted due to incorrect sealing as advised by insurance company and their own technician. Scs not interested, obstacles put in way at every turn. Problem not resolved. Going to arbitration. DO NOT use this company. Customer service is non existent.please take your hard earned money elsewhere. Reviews state that you will only purchase once from Scs, so true.

Spent 3k on a settee and lazy boy recliner.the recliner is rubbish.seat sagging.handle never seemed right.we went to a shop (not the one we purchased from)to complain and we're just ignored.we couldn't get in again until a week ago due to work rotas to be told they could do nothing as the lazy boy was out of guarantee but to email the insurance who have kindly told us they arn't interested.WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.

Ordered a sofa from Bolton Middlebrook in November19 stating delivery in January2020. Asked to match my cashback site which was agreed of £100. Then the nightmare started. Calls emails and texts from scs demanding the £100 outstanding payment. Even after numerous phone calls with no call back as stated. Still not sorted. As a disabled lady who is very ill the stress has been horrendous. Another call where i informed them i wanted order cancelled and i would not accept delivery and that i was recording the call the call centre staff became very rude. DON'T BUY FROM scs. They're not 1 star. They don't care after they have your money.

I purchase a what I thought was a leather sofa from scs. After only 7 week the leather on one of the chairs was badly stretched. I call scs and a few days later a technician arrived and said the leather was quite bad and would have expected it from a sofa 2-3 years old he could heat stretch it but in his opinion take it further tell them your not happy he then said it’s because it’s not all leather only 40% 60% is vinyl. Definitely not what I thought i was buying at £2300. Fast forward 12 days and I called scs to ask what they were going to do with the sofa only to be told it’s ware and tare and the sofa needs daly maintains mmmmm after 8 weeks

Had a delivery date for November 21st for 1pm - 6pm. At 5:30pm I get a call from what I assume is the manager, explaining my delivery won't be made. You are required to stay home for the delivery so I lost a day of work and as I work as a contractor, I have lost money for missing work. They did delivery 2 days later. I tried to ask for compensation for the delivery fee but got nowhere. Emails and phone numbers are all over the place (some are old and don't work) and don't actually link up to the stores. You're always promised you will get a call back but it never happens (on three occasions I was told I'd get a call back as they never seem to be able to contact their own stores). I called in again after a month and spoke with a staff member who said SCS do not give into the compensation culture (funny) and that I should ask for a goodwill gesture instead but that's up to the store who... he couldn't get in contact with. It's clear now why they aren't with the Ombudsman. If you need to buy from this place, make sure to purchase online (it will be the same price as in store - you can still view it in store) as you will have more rights and save time. I've got more purchases to make but will be going elsewhere for better customer service.

if I could give this a Zero star I would, if you go to order anything from SCS you need to get you head look at, absolute joke of a company, my father is 82 and ordered a wingchair before xmas and was told delivery would be mid January which was acceptable, he got the order emailed to him 2 days later with a delivery date of Feb 28th, I sent an email to their customer support team on the 18/12 and again on the 3/1/2020 and got no answer, I called then on the 14/1/2020 and the guys was very rude and told me he cant help me I would need to go into the store and speak to who we ordered the chair from, he just wanted me off the phone.. so now I have to drive 20miles to the store to have what will probably be a waste of a journey.. like I said this more than twice before buying from this company...

Worst sofa we have ever had. Sagged within weeks. Guy came out and put extra filling in but made no difference. Can’t wait to get rid of it!

I asked for carpet, delivery and fitting all in with cost which lee in the purley branch organised for us with a date for delivery. We had furniture organised to come the day after carpets where meant to be fitted. We then recieved a phone call from scs to say they had to change delivery date and that although we asked for delivery and fitting in the price we would have to pay the fitter £48 and he would call 1 hr before delivery. Once the fitter turned up without any notice he also said our carpet was delivered to the wrong depot and scs are renowned for giving customers false information. Fitter was great but would never buy anything from the lying company again

We paid £3800 for a lazy boy leather corner suite including£250 insurance to cover any accidental damage to the suite which is a waste of money. We noticed a scuff mark on the front edge of one of the seats, after contacting the insurance company that supplies cover we had to fill out a questionnaire online which was very restrictive on how you could explain the claim , within 2 weeks we received a letter stating the insurance covers accidental damage and we are not a cleaning and maintenance company and therefore you are not covered for this incident. If the had see our suite they could see how well we have looked after our suite and it is just that one chair that has suffered damage. Please everyone note SCS are a company that promises you quality products but when something goes wrong they wash their hands of you . NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS RIP OFF COMPANY

When my endurance armchair started wearing very badly after just a couple of years, the manufacturers generously gave me enough credit to replace both the chair and sofa. The sofa was fine but they said they would need to replace both. The old furniture should have been collected when the new furniture was delivered but it wasn't, so had to be moved out onto my patio. As the sofa was still ok and I'd heard nothing from SCS I made the decision to give it away, rather than let it get ruined by the weather. It was only when I chased up the cleaning kit they'd failed to deliver that the failure to collect was flagged up and I was asked to return the sofa or fully cover costs. I've disputed this for months as I believe that SCS should take at least most of the responsibility but today, after months of discussions with a rude and confrontational Stevenage store manager, 5 emails and 4 phone calls to head office where they've promised to get back to me and haven't, I've finally given in and paid the money just to resolve it. I'm disgusted with this store and they certainly don't deserve even the one star I had to give.

I purchased a 3 seater and a two seater cash in August 2019 , I was told it would be delivered the 4th October 2019 , I never heard from them at all ! The week before the delivery was due I rang them , they said they couldn’t find the order! Eventually they found the order , I received the delivery 4th October 2019 the same day I rang them to say there was a split in the sofa arm of the 3 seater . They said take pictures send them in , which I did, they told me they would ring me with a date for a repair, 5 calls I made to get some sort of response, I was told 2-3 weeks for the repair !!! I have constantly called re the repair eventually 6th January 2020 I have had the repair !!! They are so slow to contact you if there is a fault !! I got leather sofas expecting good quality , when it was being recovered I noticed only parts of it are leather it’s a big con

We purchased a Corner sofa in October and it was delivered in December, on arrival we noticed rips on the corner section and the delivery drivers stated they will inform scs and we will be given a call back the next day, the next day arrived and no call back so we called them they asked us to send some pictures and we did, a week later we still hadn’t heard so we called them to be offered a repair and £80 off the price of the sofa, we refused and was told a manger would call us back a week later no call back so we rang again to be told 24-48rs we would get the call back! A week past and we finally got the call the last started with “you rejected the offer what do you want to do” we said we want a new sofa, she said well that range is no longer available so will need to chose another sofa! We was like ok how do we do that she stated you will get a call from the online sales team tomorrow and hung up! The next day we got the call and said we had looked online and chose another sofa, we told them the make and colour they then said we don’t do that here as you got finance so a new agreement needs to be done so you will get a call back before 10pm at this point it was 5pm! We did get the call and we purchased another sofa and was told the old sofa would get collected at the same time the new one gets delivered in 8 weeks time, we agreed to this as we didn’t want to be without a sofa! The next day we get another call saying our old sofa is being collected this week, we advised the person on the phone the previous day told us we could keep it until new one arrives they paused and said said oh yes I can see this in the notes and hung up! Scs need to speak to each other and have better attitudes towards customers! We will see what happens now when or if the new sofa arrives, I don’t have much faith as from start to now it’s been 5 weeks to get anywhere with them

Dont use this company. Cancelled carpet fitting less than 24 hrs before stating carpets haven't arrived. Had taken day off work and cleared my kids bedrooms. It takes over 10 minutes to get through on the phones. Terrible customer service don't admit any fault just blame their suppliers. Stay clear of this very poor organisation.

Had a 2 & 3 seater sofa with a matching footstool delivered and the footstool had a rip in the corner. I reported to SCS on the 28th of September and still no update 5 months later. I have sent numerous emails called the customer service line to be constantly lied too and told it’s in review for 5 months and not one person has called or emailed me to update they actually ignore my emails and only get answer after waiting on hold for 30 mins.I would never recommend or order from SCS again quick enough to take your money but when your goods are damaged they disappear even my local store Warrington have been no help in the matter.
