Absolutely disgusting company with the most shocking customer service I have ever experienced. I have never written a review of a company before but felt compelled to after the experiences we have had with SCS. Bought our flooring from them last year in a new build house. We have a baby and it was important that they stuck to timescales for fitting as we had concrete floors which were dangerous for a baby. After we completed the order and paid the money, they decided that they actually couldn't fit on agreed dates and we had to wait an extra week for the flooring to be completed. Great start, but just the start. Fitters turned up 8 hours late! 8 HOURS! it was about 8pm when they turned up and they wanted to finish the job in one go so stayed until 3.00am! they were also drinking on the job, just gets better and better! After the bad experience involved with fitting we thought nothing else could go wrong, WRONG, after a week the flooring started coming up in the kitchen, bathroom and elsewhere. We called SCS numerous times to come and sort it but fitters would never come out and ha;lf the time the store wouldn't answer. After 4 months they sent out a surveyor who agreed that the issue was with the fitting and had to send his report to Head Office who would rectify the issue, oh guess what, after calls for another 3 months we kept being told we would get a call back and never did. Today we called up asking to be put through to the ever illusive operations manager to be told we couldn't speak to anyone and that a decision was made that we had refused full gluing of the flooring which had caused the issue (not true, we weren't ever advised of this) and this was contrary to what the surveyor had reported. The lovely chap on the phone wouldn't let us speak and just kept repeating that the decision had been made. Great customer service! So now we have flooring that wasn't fitted correctly, coming up from the door bars and the edges in all parts of the house and no one has been bothered to come and sort it for 12 months. AVOID THESE COWBOYS LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Absolutely appalling. The carpet was stairs and landing and in the end proved more expensive than anticipated. The fitters left the carpet billowing on the steps so that it was a virtual safety hazard. They appeared to measure the carpet wrongly so that the carpet on the bottom step had to be stretched and tightly tightly nailed under the lip, it now keeps coming away. I complained to ScS who sent a surveyor out and two subsequent fitters, but the stair looks like an amateur job and the carpet on the bottom step has even been patched up with the pattern (Weft) going the wrong way. The deal was free carpet fitting. You get what you pay for.

Carpet fitters broke my staircase when fitting the carpets. 3 phone calls, several emails and no one responds or even cares. Fed up. NEVER Again

Relationship between carpet fitters and store is appalling. Store sub-contract and can’t seem to get fitters to come back and sort problem. Had my whole house carpeted and they didn’t fit door bars between tiles and carpet said store hadn’t sent the right ones. Took me over 20 phone calls to store managers to get it resolved they don’t phone back when they promise to. Rubbish customer service.

Ordered a lazy boy suite. The framework became very loose after 2 years. Above the suite in the showroom was a huge sign saying there is a 10 year free framework guarantee on all our frameworks. When you phone up after one year to complain you will find there is a £75 pound call out fee. Yes it’s in the small print of your contract, but there is no bloody mention of it on their signs. Their salesman was also pleased to mention the free guarantee, but again no mention of the call out charge.

I will never ever purchase from this company again. Firstly the free fitting, their advert says free fitting. I was told we had to buy underlay to get free fitting, I then ordered 3 sq m of underlay, I was then told it has to be underlay for at least 90% of the carpet size. I didn’t go any further as it seemed something else would disqualify me on free fitting. Secondly I arranged a date for delivery and just before the due date I received a call to say they would not be able to deliver for a further four days. I had arranged my own fitters which then had to be cancelled and rescheduled which was a cost to me, no apologies from SCS or an offer of free delivery to compensate for their screwup. I am at the delivery date and it’s 10.00am and still no carpet. I am totally disgusted with the whole deal. Please learn from my lesson don’t even go there.

£2000 FORX2 2 SEATERS.SOFT WOOD FRAMES FABRIC ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF CUSHIONS,SO YOU CANT TURN THEM.SO LIGHT AN AVERAGE PERSON CAN LIFT THEM UP WITH EASE. Poor build quality not impressed at all,we won't be rushing back there any time soon.

Do not ever use this company! we bought a sofa and payed £1700 there and then for it in store, we got a snotty 19 year old kid with a disgusting attitude, we was then told it would arrive between 4-6 weeks, 2 days before the max 6 week period we was given we called them on the telephone to ask did they know a time slot as we still had not heard anything, we was then told it would be 2 and a half weeks after the max arranged time period we was given, we then recieved a call a few days later to say we owed £160 as a outstanding balance which we did not and they later admitted it was a error! we called there customer service department to tell them about the bad customer service we had received and there answer to rectify the situation was to say "sorry" seriously save your self the hassle and problems, this company are a bunch of clowns.

Don’t ever use this company. Our sofa arrived faulty the back was loose on most of the chairs. I took out extra insurance with them in case anything went wrong. 12 months down the line I’m still battling with them to get it fixed. Totally useless and the insurance company Homeserve don’t want to no. Terrible experience avoid. I’m now going to write to the furniture abundsman

So far 1 star and I haven't even got my sofa! Warehouse telephoned me last Friday to say furniture has arrived can we deliver Thursday 29th, of course I said yes and was happy it had come in for time quoted. As the gentleman said it had arrived delivery booked etc we sold our old suite to accommodate the new arrival! Received call on Monday sorry there is slight delay delivery re-scheduled for Monday (arranged time off work etc etc) Received another telephone today sorry will have to re-arrange delivery don't know when now!!!!! How can this be when last week I was told it had arrived. No new suite, no old suite to sit on, a house of guests this weekend, messed work about, cannot take any further time off, etc etc etc I'm fuming, after sales for this company is appalling. They were all lovely though when spending the £3k in first place!!!!!!!!

If it could give zero I would! We ordered a Dining Table from SCS just before Christmas, it finally arrived two weeks ago. On arrival we put the table together and went to put the erect seating arrangement only to discover that the legs for the seats were nowhere to be found, upon discovering this we rang customer service (Might as well be a brick wall). Long story short its now two weeks without legs and it found out that they have only ordered them yesterday instead of when they noticed they had gone missing even though i have been ringing them everyday!! Dreadful customer service, idiotic staff and the business savvy of an inept gorilla! even though i have been ringing them everyday!

Sofa delivered with hole in, foot stool delivered with a mark on it. New foot stool delivered with a patch on it cover a previous problem and no padding on the foot stool. Only had sofa since 5 months already had to have new cushions as the original ones flattened. Still waiting for a new foot stool. Still waiting for scs manager to phone me. Customer service awful. Don’t buy from SCS

very disappointed in the 2 and 3 sofa i bought, very cheaply made. ive only had this less than 6 months and its starting to show major wear and tear. i am gutted, as it cost me just over £1100, not worth the money

Don't bother with this company the after sales is terrible no understanding at all we have had nothing but trouble with our sofa the arms the seat the recliner had someone come out look at it report it wait for someone to get back wait up to 3 weeks before they came again to try to fix all the problems, but guess what turn up only to be told to fix one or two things so again more waiting having to call customer sales team again the dreaded call made to feel like it's our fault and will not replace only fix it where are our rights!! so here we go again out comes the chap to fix it again I feel sorry for him he has tried his very best but have put in report give it a week and see what happens if not on the phone again really do not know where to go with this it's been 3 months all because we didn't report it before 28 days.never again will we buy from scs the aftercare is rubbish if the company were to read these reports maybe they might see how people really feel and who knows even rectify it. Please train people who can understand the problem and not just read from a sheet where has face to face conversation gone all to easy for the company to just do it by phone no one wants to take responsibility anymore.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE !! Bought a sofa from chester branch, sofa delivered damaged and told I have to wait 5 weeks for the repair. Vinny and Dave the store manager have not even got the courtesy to respond to my calls and emails . Worst buying experience I have ever had

Paid almost 3 thousand pounds for lazyboy 5 seater cover included damage and burns they will not honour the insurance and recover 2 seats the cigarette fell between 2 cushions its not good enough they overcharge for furniture you can get for half that price elsewhere scs are thieves

Paid £2000 for a lazy boy sofa with USB port, it’s less than 9 months old it’s stopped working . The recliner has all gone out of shape. And they have refused to change it ? Orderd parts in jan been messaged around still no parts. And only changing the part u sit on. Rand again today and still no parts. I’ve asked for some one to come look at the sofa again. It should be changed for the price we paid not offered the seated area to be changed. And now the foot part has come loose. The After care Service department are less than helpful . And I would not recommend this company !!!!!

Item ordered on January 8th. No email sent to confirm payment or delivery lead time. When I got In contact they then Stated as 7-9 weeks. At the end of this lead time informed the item would be delayed by 2 weeks. After a few days of emails the unavoidable delay was avoided. Set up delivery for 13th of March. Had to take a whole day off work. Got a phone call at 230 informing me the delivery would not be available. Punted from department to department. Lost a days worth of pay and now cannot take delivery on any other day but a Sunday for the next two weeks. ScS refuse to engage, other than to inform me that my concerns have been noted and remind me of thier delivery days. Emails now take at least a full day to be responded to. Questions are ignored other than to say "my concerns are duly noted". The only choice I have is to now cancel my order or wait for a further two weeks. Frankly the most unbelievably poor customer service I have ever received. Will update of anything actually changes.

We bought a whole furniture set in store spending a fair bit. At the point of sale we were pressured into buying the cleaning kit that comes with the furniture. We were told it comes from the manufacturer and is strongly recommended. After a heavy sales pitch we formed out £50. This was before Christmas. No professional cleaning/care kit came with the delivery so we waited a few weeks and then contacted scs. They said they would talk to the manufacturer for us. Another few weeks and we called again, same story. This Friday (15th March) we got a generic House of Fraser kit - sofas, furniture, and flooring. There is a 225ml bottle of degreaser, a 225ml bottle of surface cleaner, and some wipes inside. The upsell is an absolute con.

Bought carpets and underlay from there Livingston branch.After the carpets and underlay had been fitted I was left with close to 20 sqm of underlay left over enough to do another 2xrooms. That's after their own estimator came out and sized all the stairs and rooms for us. Thought it would be really easy to take back the unopened underlay to the shop and get my money back as they made a mistake with the amount they supplied. But no what the salesman (MO) didn't tell me was that i needed to purchase far more underlay than i needed in order to qualify for the free fitting . On speaking to the salesman MO,the store manager John, Regional Manager, I am no further forward in getting a refund. So please be careful when buying from these people they will not think twice about taking far more money from you than is required. I would never buy from this company again disgusting way to treat people, spend the best part of £3000 in there store to be told we will take back the underlay but you will then be due us money as you then won't qualify for the free fitting absolute joke. Thanks SCS for a terrible customer experience.
