Had to take off work for health issues. First time ever had to take more than a day. From December 23 to January 2nd. Was only scheduled to work one day (December 27th) the whole time because of the holidays. But still had to submit a "Fit for duty" claim to Sedgwick. Submitted the medical records like I was supposed to. Doctor approved for me to return on January 2nd. I informed Sedgwick of this and they asked for documentation or proof of me returning to work. Spoke to HR and they said they had already emailed all the documentation sedgwick would need. I again messaged sedgwick that I was informed everything had already been emailed to them. Two days later I received an email stating they received my application to extend my medical leave. In no way, shape or form did I say anything about extending the leave. Especially since I had already been back to work for a couple weeks. How do you turn "I was informed that all the documentation was emailed to you from HR" into "I want to extend my medical leave"?? Makes no sense!

you get four different answers from four different people You can never get your case handler. There's no cohesion between departments. My case isn't even about compensation.

The company I work for used Sedgwick to take care of processing my FMLA family leave. I was pleasantly surprised that you actually talk to a Customer Service Rep right away. It was refreshing to be able to track a live person quickly. However, after submitting my forms via fax and email I was told everything was good. I called every day for two weeks to make sure my case was approved and after the first week I was told I filled the doc out wrong. No one called me, no one reached out to me, nothing. For another week I submitted and resubmitted docs after being told I’m good and then to find out my case is still pending. I returned back to work and they have only approved one week. My dr wrote a letter specifically for two weeks . I am still calling everyday to make sure my case is updated to be approved for the whole two weeks. I have spent so much time calling these people. Maybe better training is needed? I literally had one rep tell me they received my fax docs. Only to call back an hour later and another rep tells me they never received them. Then she was extremely rude on the phone also. Just a horrible experience to have to follow up on something when you have medical issues going on with your family. Horrible experience

After a Coach Bus Service bus hit me as I was stopped and waiting to make a turn, I was sent a letter by Sedgwick. The letter was courteous and informative and provided a point of contact. I thought, "Well isn't this nice?" I was naive. Sedgwick was responsible for arranging a rental car while my car was being repaired. I should have claimed the rental car right away, but instead...I offered to just submit a few Uber receipts for transportion costs. It would be simple for me and cheaper for Sedgwick. They agreed. After I picked up my car, I submitted receipts for $106. I was told a check would be provided as long as I signed a release. Most significantly, the release was required to be signed by a notary. None of this was disclosed when we agreed to the above arrangement. All this...for a little over $100 that saved Sedgwick the cost of a rental car and fuel for a week. I'm writing this review as a caution to claim EVERYTHING you're due from Sedgwick. Do not compromise. They may indicate they'll compromise, but don't expect anything but a hassle in the end.

My #1 recommendation get connected with your local wage and hour division office with the Department of Labor as soon as you start an FMLA process with this company. I had to battle every step of the way for my rights and they constantly indicated that they didn't work for the Department of Labor but guess who enforces FMLA? the Department of Labor!

I have had the pleasure of having Pauline Blehi as an examiner and she has been excellent in handling my case and keeping me informed of information that I requested. I have been transferred to another examiner (not sure why), and now I can't view any information online and my case is showing closed, my final doctor's appointment isn't until July 2024. I contacted my new examiner and she stated that because of the appointment date is so far out the status is showing closed, but I can still be treated. I respect people and their job title, but I really really miss Pauline Blehi.
